As someone with family who went through SA of the worst kind, I gotta say thank you Viv for how you handled it in the show. You didn't turn it into a joke, but just as majorly you didn't shy away from it and hide it under a rug either. You perfectly wove it into the story, and did the horror of it justice. Even this song, such a banger and chilling. Thanks to Living Tombstone for this cover and hope the entire Hazbin team keeps up the great work.

The added dialogue from Valentino brings you into not only Angel’s reality but the sense of disassociation we have between the two personalities of Angel. This electric energy placed into this song surrounds the energy we know of Angel, being self destructive and self conscious to every fine line he walks, to the words “good boy” “I own you” we understand what treacherous path he has to follow and not by choice. It’s a result of pain and trauma, continuous strings being pulled, we thought it couldn’t get any sadder when all that sound evaporates its replaced by the isolated vocals of Blake, it provides who we know is the real person, Anthony. We are in a facade of comfort because Angel must play the part while Anthony suffers, and the ending not being remixed showcases that facade being shaken and broken, we witness the act of who we know has to do what he’s told and in the end it’s the shell of someone who takes the consequences and the pain of everything. I adore Angel/Anthony and I wish I could give him a hug

I love the way the little additions affect the song. Val’s two lines really up the sinister aspect. The extremely edited bridge gives you the feeling that the whole song is an ever-mounting high that gets increasingly frenzied and disoriented, then it comes crashing down with Blake’s final stanza

"I can only blame myself" being followed by Val's "Good boy" is SO good, it feels like it's meant to represent the abusive/manipulative angle of abusers encouraging self-destruction / self-blame of their victims.

Yeah. That’s what it was. Just like in the episode when Val tries to touch Angel’s chest fluff and Angel instinctively covers himself with his robe. You even can see him closing his eyes in fear. And then after Val slams him onto the couch and touches his chest his breath starts shaking and that second time he says “no” was very scary and a very obvious “don’t touch me like that”. At least I think so. It could be something else. I’m always crying during that scene. It’s just so raw and terrifying especially because there’s no background music so all you hear is Angel getting beat up repeatedly and the fear in his voice. 😭💔 God I love that episode despite the strongest parts of it being utterly heartbreaking. There’s also some cool action in the penultimate scene with Angel and Husk killing the shark gangster demons, some really cute moments between Charlie and Vaggie especially at the end as Vaggie lovingly carries a hysterically sobbing Charlie to bed, and the jokes in the episode are hilarious AF my favorite being Valentino: Angel, what is the fucking holdup!?! Angel: I’m… coming! Valentino: Not off-camera, you’re not! 😂 Best episode of season 1 of Hazbin Hotel despite how difficult it is to watch. Never gets any easier to watch the scene in Angel’s dressing room, at least not for me personally.
