They are lip syncing lol There are multiple times where there are multiple people singing and nobody except Brett is singing. It's a "live"version of the song recorded in the studio, it gets played over to make it seem like it's them playing live and not the original studio version.
Stef Chanel I have said it before, and I stand behind it.....I have never saw a video or live performance of this man that he does not have a smile on his face trying to make every person in the place feel like they are friends he has known forever. The guy is the true meaning of an entertainer.....
A very happy 58th birthday to Bret Michael Sychak March 15, 1963. You are a Hair Metal metal icon. But more then just that . Just a really good vocalist.. We love you !!
Every time I have seen Poison, they were always good, and lots of fun. Saw them in a club in Queens in 1986, opening for Ratt twice in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990.
I’m 13 and Saw them 2 weeks ago in Nashville and let me tell you I’ve seen: Bon Jovi Def Leppard 2x KISS 2x Motley Crue POISON BLEW THEM ALL OFF THE WATER!! I was in the front row and since I was a kid and I knew every word to every song they were all pointing at me and throwing me picks. At the end of the show, Bret came over and grabbed my hand! It was awesome! They actually care about the fans unlike KISS!
look man i’ve seen Kiss 8 times , seen motley 3 times seen poison 2 times and seen ratt 4 times . the best concerts on earth though are by KISS or U2 only two bands where i left in 110 percent awe no offense but poison is just a fun band live but nothing to set there stage or performances above others in their division
Bret Michaels isn't a bad singer. He doesn't have that much range but he can sing on key and does not get winded. You have to be in shape to be a rock star. He's legit.
@Decaying Corpse theres a chance he can still sing good but hes outta fucking shape and thats killing him. he needs to workout, stop drinking, and get a vocal coach. wont sing like in the first album but at least he'll look like a good singer and wont make an ass outta himself.
@@benoitcloutier8803 Yeah they definitely are actually, someone in another comment pointed out that he does a hands free dive bomb on the guitar at the end 😂
I remember the night this aired on MTV I was 11 and it blew me away . I thought I would never see this again . It so rare most people I would ever ask didn't k ow what I was talking bout. Thanks for the upload
Y eso que eran poseros..... osea el metal mas criticado por esos tiempos........ pero comparado con la porqueria de musica que hoy en dia suena, POISON es una obra de arte
They were so fucking cute and fun when they came out! This performance was delightful & total eye-candy for us young women in the 80's who also also loved Duran Duran, Depeche Mode (Dave Gahan & Alan Wilder) & Def Leppard as great music with hot I saw them open for David Lee Roth, played 30 minutes and they were really good! 2nd time they headlined with opening by Tesla. Not as good but their drummer Rikki Rocket was excellent in both shows and a great stage presence/talent is rare with drummers.
Poison came out around the time when anyone could be in a rock/metal band if you wanted it bad enough and had luck and looks in LA in the 80's. They wanted it bad enough and they got it. The energy level back on the early Poison shows was so electric. Even makes this performance seem tame compared to the shows they would put on in 86.
There were 10 times better underground bands around at that time who deserved it much more than Poison. Poison is one of the ones that got lucky...and they sold out the minute they were able to. Actually, I can't even say that they sold out, they were already sellouts when they first started.
I remember being 18 years old when I saw this performance on MTV. I would donate my left ball to science to relive that Era. Blasting this song in my '86 T-Top Camaro IROC. The only thing cooler was your girlfriend and you sharing the hairspray.
Agreed Brad. Guitar tremolo pull (down pitch) at the end couldn't happen with CC's hands up in the air. A few cymbal crashes that were silent (to us). Definitely still learning - - HOWEVER sometimes things like this were forced by record companies and/or insurance companies, network$ (for live tv especially), etc... 3rd they could have also (i don't think so in this case) over-dubbed the studio track for this video (and not what the audience there heard). Nowadays they can even do this with VIDEO instead of audio only. They can "Layer-in" a person or an audience or a plane hitting a building.
Why would the fucking bass be live and not the whole band? lol Its just the full studio track with all instruments and backing vocals, to trick the audience into thinking its a full live performance while Bret sings live over it.
It’s for television. Live studio doesn’t work, specially when there’s video cameras around. Technology back then to. It’s the recorded track with things like the drums and vocals being played live.
Only the vocals are "live". I recognized that guitar artifact at 0:40 when the studio musician (CC, maybe) readies to do the little fill and his pick or wrist touches the strings.
They were my first concert in ‘90 or ‘91 (7th grade). It’s funny to see their low budget attempts at pyrotechnics here considering the show I saw a few years later.
I'm from Detroit (blow the revielle)! These guys (or actually their _'song-doctors'_ ) wrote this to mimic The New York Dolls. C.C. doing the best (blonde. or _pink_ ) version of Johnny Thunders he could muster. *It wasn't enough!* After this they stuck to just copying their look. Peace. Stay Healthy! - Dave B.
@La Haza I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! You're close! *It's completely lifted from The Sex Pistols completely lifting it from The New York Dolls!* I give them (actually their _'song-doctors'_ ) credit for at least trying it once. This was their only attempt at actually emulating their music. After this, they went back to just copying their look! *Watered Down versions across the board!* So safe. So fake. Such _'memorable solos'._ LoL~° - Dave B.
I still find it amusing how Poison could have Slash who auditioned for them, chosen CC to be replaced by a guitarist like Kotzen who professed to be genuinely surprised to see it was all about Poison when he went out on the road with them after their million of dollars budgeted recording session was over. I mean what did Richie Kotzen expect? He wasn't even as well known as Poison but he expected to outshine n share more of the spotlights than the band that hired him. He was a very rude person to play around with Rocket's girlfriend though it's a given the woman involved has to fit in willingly. Kotzen maybe a great musician but he exhibited a pettyness the size of his ego n his image of a serious musician as opposed to a rock star hasn't really sat well with some of the words he had said throughout the years. Moreover, not that many care, do they? He hasn't really gotten half as big as he was when he had the luck to play for Poison. He really looked his gift horse in the mouth, didn't he?🤣 His rock career trajectory is a bit like bedroom guitarist, really talented n poised for great things, almost met expectations with Poison, ego got too big, back to bedroom guitarising. Never realised his potential. Prince, now that's an artist who made his experiments matter to millions around the globe. Poison were great in What the Cat dragged In and Open Up, lost their way with the attempt at image transformation to a serious artistically inclined band, now attempting to recapture those glory days when the hair was huge n the make ups colourful. They were a fun band with great tunes. Too bad they had to change. Jagger never tried to oust Keith from the Stones because that's why they roll. Learn, rock stars of the 80s. Look at the Rolling Stones and learn about Waiting On a Friend, how we Can't Always Get What we Want even if we threw a stadium sized tantrums, remember we always need someone we can lean on n of course, we can't always drink it off our minds. Cheers, people.
You obviously didn't watch a lot of concerts back then. What about Guns and all the other bands that played on MTV? GoGos never played to a 100% guitar track. Neither did The Bangles. Even Tiffany didn't play to a track on that live music video she did. But Poison sure does here.
