I like Mega Garchomp as a surprise wallbreaker on teams with another potential Mega for the misdirect. Sand definitely helps him, but also makes him more obvious.

Mega Garchomp on a Sticky Web team is savage once you get rid of his weaknesses. ;)

I wound only use an Adamant nature on Garchomp if your gonna use all physical attacks.I EV trained him in speed and attack and have max IV'S in all stats

Garchomp a true beast. Mine runs: jolly nature, rocky helmet, rough skin, earthquake, rock slide, dragon claw, and iron head. Also an assault vest could work great or that anti-ice berry. On top of that what about one with: sand veil, sandstorm (optional), EQ, Dragon Claw, iron head, jolly nature, and u have multiple choices for your item.

i use my garchomp as a decoy stealth rock toxic setter. Dragon tail Toxic Stealth rock Earthquake

To be honest, there is only one true way to use Garchomp: like Cynthia's. Held item could either be a Sitrus Berry to heal or a Yache Berry to survive at least one Ice attack. Nature is Jolly, and the moves are Dragon Rush/ Outrage( for STAB and Dragon coverage), Brick Break( for Ice coverage), Earthquake ( for STAB), and either Giga Impact, Iron Head, or Poison Jab. Poison Jab because A.) coverage and B.) other coverage.

My garchamps moves Hone claws/ use first so attacks will get a attack boost and they won't miss Dragon rush/ stab and possible flinch Stone edge/ possible crit Earthquake/Iron tail to fight of fairy types

I run a swordschomp with a focus sash and poison jab instead. otherwise identical, I'd have to say it's one of my favorite sweepers ever! One time I even tired a setup team passed it a little speed and It was pretty much god, literally all you need to pass to a swordschomp to be a perfect sweeper in 99% of situations is 1 stage of speed.

I'd like to share my personal favourite set which is somewhat based around my teams coverage in doubles, I've found alot of success with it. Landshark (Garchomp-Mega) @ Garchompite Ability: Sand Force Level: 50 EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe - Dragon Claw - Earthquake - Poison Jab - Protect 1st 2 moves are STAB and hit hard; Poison Jab to cover against your fairy weakness (OHKO's most faries); Protect for predicting ice moves while your other mon removes the threat. This set can be run as mega or non-mega depending on your team. When non-mega I usually run a life orb or a Yache berry for the Ice attacks, (or rocky helmet with rough skin). Personally not a fan of scarfchomp + rock slide i haven't had much success with it and I feel its only potential is flinches.

My garchomps setup is swords dance, Dragon claw, earthquake, and fire fang.

He can Learn Iron Head...which will counter to ICE,FAIRY type.. Nature : Adm (Atk+,SPA-) MOVESET : Dragon Claw, Earthquake,Rock Slide/Stone Edge, Iron Head

I personally like running mixed mega garchomp. It gains 40 base special attack points so it feels like a bit of a waste not to utilise it. Also its attack is already ridiculously high at 170, especially so when in sand so you can still get a lot of KOs without any investment. My set is: Garchomp @ Garchompite Ability: Rough Skin EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Naive Nature - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Draco Meteor - Fire Blast I usually pair this up with Hippowdon which brings the sand and has a lot of physical bulk. Sure they share a crippling ice weakness between the two of them but I usually design the rest of my team to counter this.

Am I the only one who absolutely loves Dual Chop for Garchomp? No special effect, but it has 80 power and hits twice so it negates Sturdy and has 2 chances for critical...

Making my first ever team (besides showdown) and i have a scizor and breloom so far. Should i use flareon or garchomp to cover the fire weakness?

I run a Garchomp with Substitute and Sword Dance. It is usually rather strong and if I can setup once (which I often can) people sometimes forfeit. It has a little element of surprise since you don't see this set often. However, is the set viable for higher elo tiers? And what item would be sensible to run with it? (I use leftovers)

Mega garchomp in tailwind vgc actually does pretty well, yet when I bring it up in smogon chat rooms, they always diss me for it. The idea is to run adamant garchomp and not mega turn one to preserve your speed. Protect first one, and set up tailwind with crobat (perferably crobat because it has inner focus, brings sylveon and amoongus hits, and is faster than most pokemon). Some people think you might have mega tyranitar, but then you switch crobat into tyranitar and eq everything into non existance. If you see a flying type, just rock slide it! Only problem is rotom wash, but Im working on that.

"Ninja Chomp" Jolly Nature 252Speed 252Def Item: Bright Powder or Smooth Stone Ability: Sand Veil Moves; Sandstorm/Swords Dance/Dragon Dance Protect Double Team Earthquake I was thinking in singles it could be a threat if you can get set up just right. Mostly try setting up on a physically hitting pokemon or a pokemon trying to set up defenses, but in Doubles I see this being extremely scary with a good support pokemon by its side. Have a bulky pokemon with Sand Stream and a Smooth Stone set up the sandstorm first turn and Garchomp will have some good evasion already before the battle starts. In this case you could replace Garchomps Sandstorm with Swords Dance or Dragon Dance. The evasion depending on how your luck plays out can let you set up for a bit. You should use double team first as many times as you feel necessary. Also Baton Pass for a good Special Defence boost is not bad at all, seeing as Fairy and Ice types have massive special moves like Moonblast and Ice Beam. Let me know what you think?

I have a Mega garchomp and use hone claws then sweep with my moveset which is hone claws, Dragon Rush, Iron Head, and Earthquake and if it dont work do double with a tanky pokemon with follow me so you can set up, like i have pachirisu and i dont lose battles anymore.

I like to run Mega-Chomp with max sp.atk and max speed rest in attack. With draco,flamethrower,iron head, and eq. It's suprising how this breaks throught everyting and plus side is that burn doesn't matter too much :D

bro, i saw you didn't include hone claws dragon rush earthquake iron head. This is a pretty cool strategy because it still 1 shots a ton of pokemon with dragon rush, and you won't get locked into it for 3 turns and get confused, and if you do ko and they bring out a florges, outrage gives them a free calm mind and then ko's with moon blast.

Garchomp is prettymuch the most common poke in OU currently and I think scarf chomp is best... although tanky is pretty good...

I feel like mega chomp gets to much hate for that speed drop for no reason, I also feel like people r over complicating mega chomp and think u hav to run the sand but you don't, I (for fun at first) ran a Cynthia team with a mega stone on garchomp (a standard 252 252+ speed) one with tail wind on the togekiss and that team won me so many games and it was all because of the tail wind on mega chomp, no sand up I just focused on that nice base 170 atk and that's all you need really.

I would capitalize on Garchomp's Sand Veil ability and boost up evasion with Double Team (Much like how I run Sandslash, but bulkier and stronger) then as soon as you can't be hit anymore, go Mega.

I feel dropping speed is gamefreaks way of nerfing something from being too good. But it makes you wonder why they made mega kang so good while increasing its speed and bulk, and made mega salamence faster with viable atk, sp.atk, AND aerialate...

If only they didn't move the 10 EV's from Speed to Special Attack. If only. If they kept his speed the same (or, god help us, gave him more speed) he would be an almost unstoppable force. He would be in Uber territory, and do great because everything and their mother is a dragon type in Uber (don't argue).
