I think its a perfect storm of Booster box prices selling out at the retail level, causing FOMO or panic buying of sealed products, putting them out of reach for most buyers. That causes collectors and investors to look at the singles now since it is not cost effective to open packs. Then you have PokeTubers opening packs and showing how hard it is to pull these cards which might be a small part of it. Me and my son open tons of packs so we already knew but some of us needed a reminder. I've been filling my sons binder with S&S Alt arts since December and opening less booster boxes.

Definitely love the Moonbreon, basically fell in love with it when I first saw it and made me want to complete the master set of Evolving Skies. I don't see myself selling it, haven't had a similar reaction to a card since the Shining Gyarados I traded for when I was a kid

I do have a large investment in sealed boxes but I'm also putting a larger investment in black label english modern because I believe at the end of the day they will be worth a ton because it's much harder to get them (and much fewer of them) then to get cases of sealed product, and the prices for the black labels show it also i believe.

Personally, Moonbreon is my favorite card ever made. I have multiple copies and I won’t be selling them. This set is crazy. Even the Rayquaza has almost doubled in price in the last year.
