The original copy of Pokémon Silver from which this video is meant to replicate remains illusive. The author sent me patch notes years ago about his last few discoveries of the cartridge. Here I am showing what I was able to replicate so far.
This is a playable demo, made in Game Maker Studio 2, only for Windows machines only.

ALTERNATE ENDINGS:
2nd / HIDDEN :: Say "NO" several times when the game asks you to TURN BACK NOW.
3rd / RUINS :: Rearrange HEDIED Unowns to DIEDHE when in the graveyard room after Hurry dies.
4th / ASHES :: Press "A" on the Red pillar room.
FINAL :: Go through all other endings (HIDDEN/RUINS/ASHES) a tile will appear in the black void
in Gold's house, go right where the tile is.
EASTER EGG :: Go to Pokedex, Press Select, go to Unown Dex, use SELECT to type in "SNOW" with Unowns.

I noticed that there are various areas/actions that seem a bit empty with silence, like the exclamation points before falling into pits, and some areas where no music plays. Do sound effects and music still need to be added for those areas? I mean I know you have said that sound and music was added at last minute and that the music heard in the preview videos were basically edited into the videos.

This was absolutely amazing to watch, and I enjoyed every moment of it. This is such a good update, and there’s a lot of interesting stuff going in this version, especially with how you keep up the air of mystery throughout the new stuff. I love how rearranging the Unowns is how you get access to a new route, as it’s a rather clever use of how they worked in the original story. It’s also curious how this Unown route leads into the events of Ashes (and I am curious if anything might change if you enter Ashes as the author did in that story instead). The “Where will you go?” sign was also an intriguing addition, and makes me wonder what would happen if going right, something we’ll probably have to discover for ourselves. The segment where you wander to the right during the ghost!Gold portion is also curious, with the trade picture that appears, and the close-up of Gold at the end of that segment made me jump. And finally, the *Easter Egg* at the end was one very pleasant surprise, and made me smile when you revealed it. You did quite good at the recreation there as well, making it a very neat ending.

I’m always glad to see updates from this channel! It’s looking amazing so far. Though I’m curious if we’ll see other characters in these paths like Kris (part of the GSC trio) or even the Kanto gym leaders since they were a part of Gold’s challenges. Also can’t help but feel bad for his mom losing her son when you think about it. All in all. Amazing work as always and the new sprites are super cool! Cant wait to see more.

Our new spriter GushieGMan did awesome work on the new sprites :) The story is pretty much almost complete, save a few updates here and there and maybe the addition of one more battle. Adding too much feels like it's just intruding on the original author's vision. However, since he has since abandoned this story I might as well pick it up.

You got in contact with the original author? That's incredible!! So many authors of original creepypastas seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth, so I'm glad you have contact with them! I would love for them to do an interview one of these days about the work they did on lost silver!

Sadly they have disappeared since 2011-12. And with it, the rest of the details for the second and fourth secret paths. They gave Reidd some details for the second and fourth secret paths, aswell as some sort of glitched battle that had a win or lose scenario, but because they were only vague details, those paths can’t be adapted over accurately as they would be intended, and the glitch battle doesn’t seem to be adapted in Re: Lost Silver.

Here's what I think about the new route, it's most likely showing gold's last moments as he enters the tower, which he was unintentionally killed by Ho-oh, but now since he's dead, but nobody remembers the trainer's work confirmed by the "Who are you kid?"

One thing I very much hope from this release is that it causes most people to reevaluate the creepypasta as a whole. Originally everyone only had the main path and hidden path to go off of (Which the hidden path was treated as extra stuff not canon, even though it was). So a lot of people took the original main story at face value, because generally that’s all they had. But now we have three new paths which boast much more content and give much more context around the creepypasta to form some sort of story around it. Maybe people will appreciate the creepypasta even better with this new information. Or things won’t change.

@@ReiddMaxwell Yeah that would be cool, though if he found out that you essentially leaked the notes he privately shared you. It could jeopardize your relationship with him, though it’s been a decade at this point, I really doubt he would have grudges against you at that point. But you never know.

Silver is not actually related to the Lost Silver creepypasta as they are both done by separate authors. They both have different protagonists. And Blake is much more talkative in comparison to gold and ...

Hey, Reidd Maxwell. I was trying out the new demo for Re: Lost Silver and I can't seem to access the Forever HoundDoom level. I tried to rearrange the unown the way you did in the "He Died" level but it went to the Red Tower level like it normally does. I went through the Hidden Route first and then rearrange the unown again in the "He Died" level and still no sign of the Forever HoundDoom level. Not to mention that one of the unown for me has 29 HP instead of in the 30s like the others. (Not sure if that even matters anyway lol) Is there another certain thing that I have to do in order to unlock the Forever HoundDoom level?

I was wondering if there was any significance to Houndour’s level being 255. I looked it up and apparently the number 255 is an ‘Angel number’, which is a number that you see repeated throughout your daily life. People believe that if you experience this phenomenon it means that the spiritual plane is attempting to communicate with you. More specifically, your guardian Angel is attempting to contact you and guide you to your highest potential. Both Red’s Pikachu and FOREVER the Houndour are level 255. The Pokémon in Gold’s party throughout the story sort of match this description, in which they act like spiritual guides for Gold’s journey throughout this purgatory he finds himself in.

its a R/B/Y easter egg. its a limitation that if you break past the lv100 limit on pokemon, you can go as high as 255 before it loops back to 0 due to memory limits of the game boy.

Can someone get me up to speed on these alternate routes and Easter eggs? Was there supposed to be alternative routes and secrets that was never revealed in the original pasta? Was the original author trying to go for a Majora's Mask BEN DROWNED-type ARG/game? I thought the author posted the creepypasta on /x/ or /v/ with no other additional info

They posted the original story back in June 2010. Then around the time, the fangame of lost silver releases, the author gets asked questions what happens if you press no multiple times in the second room in the game. The author then explains that there’s a hidden path if you say no a few times which resulted in the hidden path update to the fangame. Afterwards, the author wanted to collaborate with the fangame creator (Reidd) as he had future paths he wanted to add to the creepypasta and wanted to do it through updates to the fangame (Project Re: Lost Silver), and that all the paths led to some sort of story for the creepypasta. The author messaged Reidd about details to all the secret paths in around early 2011. Reidd eventually goes silent during 2011-12 due to other priorities, and the author thought he just stopped working on lost silver. So, in November 2012, the author came back to the public and detailed a walkthrough of a secret path in lost silver called the Ilex Forest path, it’s the third secret path in the game. Unfortunately, the author vanished after this public message and ghosted Reidd. Reidd worked on their own version of Pokémon Cursed Black from 2011-2018, but eventually cancelled it due to it being completed by rom hackers elsewhere. So in Jan 2020 Reidd decided to make a new Pokémon engine and remake Lost Silver with new secret paths based off the author’s details. Only the third secret path is accurate since that was given the most details, the others only had vague details, so Reidd had to implement them with some creative liberties to fit them in with the creepypasta. And now here we are today. That sure was a mouth full.

The secret paths are said to be “in the past” probably taking place before the main story. They are mostly just explaining how some things are the way they are, there’s still a lot of stuff up to interpretation.

It’s a lot more complicated than making something like a Pokémon Black hack. Lost Silver has a lot of specifically scripted events that need to be coded in, which is a lot more demanding than the average Pokepasta. This is especially if you’re trying to adapt over all of Lost Silver, like it’s hidden and alternate routes.

I didn't have enough time to complete it honestly, but I also don't have a good way to implement it. I tried reaching out to the author via our old communication method and he has since not replied (for years now). I'm on my own on that, but I'm sure I can figure something out.

@@ReiddMaxwell good to know its still considered, since it would give you a pretty nice reward for going through all the paths, that you get a battle that actually matters to your inputs and can give you two unique endings. I imagine you can implement it in a unique way. Like it could still use Pokemon’s battle system, but you wouldn’t traditionally attack to deal damage to the glitch, you could use other types of items and attacks located in other parts of the menu, or switch Pokémon between a glitched Celebi, Hurry, Forever, really you could do anything. I guess it could be similar to glitched Pokemon battles, where you try fighting something with no Pokemon in your party, it was very glitchy in early gen games specifically in Pokemon Blue and Red, and I think using one of the glitch battles as a base would be perfect.

It’s an executable file, so not a ROM. Making a ROM hack of of Lost Silver would be quite hard anyways since there’s a lot of scripted events that would be hard to implement and code. So it’s easier to just recreate Pokémon Gen’s 2 engine to make the creepypasta adaptation from there.
