No. The smartass who decided to make Gyarado's special attack stat so low in Gen II is. Even then, it's still an outstanding pokemon offensively, but because of that shortcoming, it's extremely annoying to battle pokemon with high special defense even with type advantages.

@@evanhaskel206 Back in Gen 2, you could use Sleep Talk while asleep to use one of your moves randomly. This included Rest, which fully healed you and put you to sleep again. It was entirely possible to keep using Rest and be effectively immortal. This was fixed in Gen 3, and trying to use Rest while you were already asleep would result in failure.
+Michaela Taylor "It woke up. Oh, a quick snooze! It still won't wake up. It's a fierce battle. It's still snoozing... It's fast asleep and can't be moved. The heated action continues." and repeat. Poor commentator, he must have gotten really bored here.
This is a harrowing gauntlet and it gets harder on rematches! Erika's trolling Vaporeon is truly one of the more difficult opponents. Still, who am I kidding? I love Pokémon Stadium!
The bad thing about using sleep talk DURING rest is that rest (again) is one of the moves that can be chosen at random. That was in reference to Erika's Vaporeon, which isn't even close to being a grass type. Also, Red's/Blue's strategy isn't balance; it's to CONSTANTLY change pokemon!
I'm guessing they made a mistake when throwing the teams together, and gave Misty a Sunflora that was supposed to go to Erika, and gave Erika the Vaporeon that was supposed to go to Misty.
I easily KO'd it before it had a chance to either switch or use Rest by using Fury Cutter, which was already powered up from using it on her first Pokémon - with rentals, no less.
Facing Erika: It´s a fierce battle ¡¡¡ Me: No it´s NOT. Erika´s Vaporeon spent 99% of the time sleeping. By the way wasn´t she supposed to be leader of grass-type pokemon?
I find it weird the the Gym Leaders and Elite Four in the Stadium games have teams with like 1-3 Pokémon not being their respective type. I guess it is to make them stand more of a chance against players who could just sweep them normally with one Pokémon.
Everyone in meltdown over that Vaporeon 😅 I cant remember much expect 2hko with zapdos in my plauthrough. Tough fight if you didn't break a bulky water breaker
3:40 Seconds, So lemme get this straight.... A grass move from a grass type against a rock and water type(both are weak to grass moves) won't kill it but the rock and water type uses the strongest ice type and actually hits despite lower accuracy does just as much against a grass type? Why play this particular game? it's not fair by its own rules!!!
+Nick Watson Magnium, having a base SpAtk of 83, is using Giga Drain , a 60 power move, would not do too much damage to Omastar, despite having a 70 SpDEf and a quadruple weakness to grass, and it would do a substantial amount of damage to Meganium, since it has a 115 base SpAtk and using a 120 base power Blizzard. And to answer the accuracy bias of Blizzard, its the untold rules of a gym battle: all there 70% accuracy move become 90%, all there secondary effects activate half the time while all of your secondary effects never activate and any move on your pokemon below 80% will never hit.
how do you transfer all pokes at lvl 51? do you lvl them up in crystal till lvl 51 and then transfering? or does the game sets the lvl for the cup rules?
@@Blackdragon724 I never thought you were? I’m just saying why not try it and tell us how it goes since it was your idea? Stadium 2 is insanely hard, it’d be fun to see somebody attempt that
Because of the cup were your pokémon can be level 50 to 55 but in total not more than 155 in total. With everyone on level 51 I can still use every team combination.
From all the pokemon games i always liked this ones the stadiums, i never liked the game boy ones lol can someone tell me if there is any other pokemon game like this one for gamecube or wii or any other?
the developers added other type of Pokemon into their teams to make it a bit more challenging. Otherwise you could just use a Fire type and sweep her. While on Misty's team, Electric Types have 100% hitting Thunders under the Rain and Grass Types Fire weakness is reduced.
+Foxforch i'm pretty sure it is! He did the same for pokemon stadium 1, and when he uses ROCK SLIDE the ground becomes black (it does the same for me and I use an emulator). I use project 64 version 1.6, and i got the rom from emuparadise. I use N-Rage 1.82 for the transfer pack pluggin Hope this helps!
Damn, Gyarados Sp. Attack stat is so ass, it can't even one shot another Gyarados with Thunderbolt. Better not waste moves like Surf, Ice Beam or Thunderbolt on it.
I don't get it. Why do you waste time switching when your opponent is down to their last Pokemon? It's not like you get continues in gym leader castle.
