The Isle of Armor Expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield is almost out, and to celebrate I've decided to cover some Sword and Shield Easter eggs and references! Specifically, ones that refer to other Pokemon generations. There are many subtle nods throughout the Galar games to other entries in the series, and even some hints in previous games to Sword and Shield themselves, and we'll be covering some of the best ones in this video!

There is one really random reference to SwSh in USUM that I didn't see mentioned here since it is so rare. Only has happened to me once. The Pokémon Center buyer that randomly pops up at the Paniola Town location will mention someone burning their mouth on five-star curry if he asks to buy a Burn Heal.

I thought that the Persian on the bathhouse in Circhester might be a reference to the Pokemon world's equivalent of the Roman empire, seeing as large cats such as lions were often used in their artwork and were used in gladiatorial battles. That and the fact that Circhester is based on Bath, a British city famous for its Roman baths. Maybe they're foreshadowing the next region?

Seeing megas in the Mystery Dungeon remake was awesome, and now they're appearing in Pokémon GO, and now I'm hoping they continue the mega timeline with DP remakes. Also primal reversions, but just cuz I wanna see primal Dialga in a main-series game

You should have had to wear the gym's specific uniform when you participate in it. For example, you have to wear the water type uniform when challenging Nessa's gym, and the dragon type uniform when challenging Raihan's gym.

I feel like the rotom pc and giovanni one is a bit of a stretch.. Sure the giovanni one COULD reference him, but if it was him he should be very much older since each pokemon game that comes out seems to get more and more futuristic as we go throughout the years. In Kanto, theres not a lot of tech. But in galar, everything is mostly rotom controlled tech. As for the rotom pc, that could have been an thing they went "hey, we put rotom in a pokedex. what else could we put him in?"

For those of you familiar with the Pixar films like Toy Story and The Incredibles, you'll probably know that Pixar has that habit of sneaking in Easter Eggs into their films and shorts that cross-reference their films as well, and they do it VERY frequently, and sometimes these Easter Eggs can go quite easily unnoticed. One example is in Monsters Inc, Boo the girl has a Jessie doll and a Nemo toy, both of which reference Jessie in Toy Story and the little clownfish in Finding Nemo respectively.

Based on galars placement in the time line, i doubt he is Flannerys grandpa. We at least know galar is 20 years apart from gen 1&3 because type null and mimikyu. Her grand pather woud either be dead or very old. Kabu looks 60 at the very most

Also, we know he's been in Galar since he was young because of his Rare League card. Flannery's grandfather had only recently left the gym to her in Hoenn, so he had to have remained the gym leader until he was old enough to have a teenage granddaughter, which Kabu was *not* when he came to Galar.

The Crown Tundra is near Sinnoh based off the Regi Temple The Isle of Armor is near Alola from the Alolan Diglett shown in the gameplay. 2 of my favorite regions are coming together I CAN'T WAIT!!

@@RedHinge various pokedex entries from usum prove that pokemon do suffer when or after being mega evolved, like: -lucario having scars from the energy flowing through its body -manectric becoming aggressive because of too much electricity that it can't control -heracross is left with sore muscles after mega evolving -mega aerodactyl becoming vicious because of the stones on its body causing it pain

Bertholtd LuckyOwl777 I’m well aware of that, but don’t forget things like the Lilycove Departmant Store clearout sale are announced on the TVs in the Gen 3 games, so they could’ve been referring to that. It may have been a Rotom reference, but I’m just saying there’s a chance it’s completely unrelated.

But that "reference" was literally the generation before Rotom appeared, so they most likely were already thinking and planning out gen 4, if not even starting to develop it

This isn't much of a reference, just a fun fact but both Raichu and Gastly have dex entries in Gen 3 mentioning Indian Elephants. Neither ever referenced it again until Gen 7 for Raichu. And now Cufant and Copperajah exist

Kabu's rare league card shows him in galar when he was quite young with black hair and everything even saying he's young. So I don't know about being flannary's grandfather.

There is going to be at least one more generation. HEAR ME OUT! In the alola Dex, the entry for yungoos says it was brought in from another region to handle the ratatta population. There are no yungoos or gumshoos in galar. Therefore, there will be at least one new region where you can find yungoos and gumshoos.

In Pokemon ultra sun i noticed before the elite 4 kakui mentioned about getting beat by a dragon type main with a red cape sounds like leon to me

Leon isn’t really a dragon type trainer. If anything, it was referring to Lance, who actually is a dragon type trainer. However, his cape is only red on one side (back is gray/black). But still more likely than Leon.

Kabu's relation to Flannery is a no; his Rare Leauge card shows he's clearly been a Gym Leader in Galar for a while; and Gen 8 also happens quite a bit after Gen 3.
