Pokémon Type Chart UPDATED! How To Fix The Ice Type!

Psychic weaknesses being common phobias is one of my favourite type chart reasons. Fear of Ice is not on the same tier as Fear of Bugs, Fear of the Dark and Fear of Ghosts.

I think you're being too hard on the psychic type. Ground is one of the best types, so it needs drawbacks.

These takes were not cooking. Give a resistance to water and remove the weakness to rock and ice is perfectly balanced as a glass cannon. You don't need to change the identity of the type. You made ice into a new type altogether

When I first played pokemon, I expected ice to deal at least normal damage to fire because it melts... into water.

In my opinion Ice needs some buffs not offensively but it needs more resistances, the most logical ones to me would be Bug: Bugs cant thrive in cold temperatures as their fragile insect bodies cannot withstand the cold. Grass also follows a similar rule as in arctic and tundra regions plants are heavily compromised and cant show much growth unless specifically adapted. The cold makes plants struggle (possible grass type ability for withstanding the cold) Ice should also resist poison due to poison not being able to take effect under low temperatures and freezing instead. Dead bodies cant decompose in permafrost and bacteria and viruses easily get frozen and cant infect either when trapped in ice. Ice resisting psychic doesnt make much sense in my opinion as psychic powers can easily manipulate water and shatter ice. And Water doesnt make sense either because water can also be at scalding temperatures that could easily melt ice. The idea of brainfreeze and psychic's weakness to ice does however make sense.
