team galactic fanatic here, just wanted to correct two things here. 1: Cyrus never intended to summon Giratina. In Platinum, he summoned both Dialga and Palkia, and Giratina basically appeared to make Cyrus stop his shit. Cyrus was destroying the universe, as well as Giratina's universe, so obviously they would be pretty pissed about that. 2: Cyrus gathered a following because he understood how people's emotions controlled them and used it against them. As stated by Looker, and Cyrus himself, he was incredibly charismatic and lied about his true intentions, even to one of his Commanders. Tbh I hate my life I just had to say this.
me too. i'm never listening to another spoiler again. 5 minutes later... i don't care about spoilers this doesn't look like a good game anyway! a few months later... this is an amazing game. i shouldn't have spoiled it for myself.
SPOILER ALERT Okay, but the Aether Foundation was along the lines of Team Plasma. With the Ultra Beasts, they would have ruled Alola. Team Skull was a tool of the Aether Foundation. Instead of becoming more dastardly, I anticipate the villians becoming more complex and two-faced.
Kubo Edgeworth Sun and Moon made it seem like the true villains of the game were the Ultra-Beasts. Yes Lusamine was bat shit insane, and even Lillie can confirm that she has always been selfish and a terrible mother, But The Ultra-Beasts are monsters from another Universe and most likely are the alternate universe versions of people in the games, if appearances are anything to go off of. They have said that the Beasts are very violent and deadly and had a small war with the Legendaries the last time they crossed over into our universe.
+Tuckinator inator the UBs aren't MONSTERS technically, they are from another world and want to go home and are attracted to people who have travelled through the portals through them. they are dangerous yes, but driving a car is too.
I think Gamefreak topped themselves this time on the characterization of the villains and heroes alike. And we can expect the next game(s) to be sequential, like Black/White 2. They've set up the people so well I'm crossing my fingers.
I feel like Team Galatic has the climax of the villains. They have the most ambitious plan. Cyrus also has the best battle music ever, it actually gave me a feeling of a new world being born. However, according to what you said about Cyrus, he hates emotions and forbids companionships, then how did he evolve his golbat into Crobat?
Team Rocket: Thugs Team Aqua: Pirates Team Magma: ??? Team Galactic: Super Villains Team Plasma: Knights, then Thieves Team Flare: Businessmen Team Skull: Gangsters We went from thugs to gangsters.
Youbest not But they're not just thieves because they're also a gang of criminals who commit more crimes than just stealing things. I never played Black/White 2.
Team Rocket: The Mafia Team Aqua: Pirates Team Magma: Eco Terrorists Team Galactic: Spacemen Ex-Team Plasma: PETA Neo Team Plasma: Ninja Pirate Terrorists Team Flare: Nazis Team Skull: Gangsters (and if you remove Team Flare from the Equation it makes up one word... G.R.A.M.P.S)
PokeChic Rivera yeah but a few pokemon being frozen is alot different then everyone in the world being killed by an ancient weapon from 1000s of years ago.
But I've never really seen sun and moon, so thanks for that because that is the one thing i don't like, the new generations are to easy and makes kids get everything and never new the beautiful struggle of trying to catch a level 70 Rayquaza in Pokemon emerald before you fought the eight gym, roughly having lvl 40-50 depending on how hard you grinder.
why? Dialga and Palkia can be considered yin and yang: Two sides of the same coin that make up reality rather than the forces that are subject to it. Heck, there's even interpretation in physics; The closer one goes to the speed of light, the slower time acts upon oneself, thus moving through space fast enough can affect time. But Giratina doesn't seem to fit there. Gravity is a force among three others. Electromagnetism and weak/strong nuclear force. Giratina being a representation of antimatter is about as stupid, unless it is supposed to be the antithesis to Arceus, which I suppose makes some sort of sense. The Lucifer to Arceus's God. But it still doesn't represent a part of the trifecta. The only thing I can come up with is that it's supposed to embody the Void or the 'Outsider', but I still haven't been satisfied by anyone's explanations. I guess I never will.
Careful Chronicler Gravity makes more sense to me, because dude literally comes out of a black hole. The gravity of the objects within his realm was distorted. Not to mention antimatter and matter erase each other.
Zac Ross Well, Cyrus's goal wasn't to destroy everything, it was to create something new. Destroying everything was just a thing he had to do to make his "new world"
This is the first of your videos I've watched in a while, and it was really good. Though, to be fair, I'm a sucker for Pokemon Lore. Especially when it comes to the villains. But this added some good insight that I really enjoyed. Nice work, Treecicle.
I actually agreed with Lysandre on a lot of things, but his team was just some edgy bunch of elitists. But isn't that how it went with Team Plama? The leader (albeit, technically) had good philosophy and good intentions, but the people in his time (ie Ghestis and the other idiots with _his_ philosophy) messed it all up.
**SPOILERS BELOW FOR SUN AND MOON** Well, seeing as that Team Aether is the true new villain, I think it's safe to say that the bar hasn't been set as low yet. Lusamine literally didn't even care about her team or even her own children. She was prime and ready to combine with Nihilego and absolutely obliterate Earth as she knew it. It was already hinted to of happened in old-timeline Hoenn (that's why Anabel appeared out of nowhere, she tried to defend Hoenn from the Ultra Beasts coming out of the wormhole but ultimately ended up travelling through dimensions to new-timeline Hoenn, fainted. That is also is why she is a faller). Lusamine is still a step up from Lysandre as he had at least a smidge of compassion left for his team members. Lusamine literally only cares about things that she deems worthy of her love, which in the climax of Sun and Moon, was only Nihilego and it's brethren. She was unaware of the other Ultra Beasts at that point, and even obsessed over creating the perfect Pokeball and Pokemon (Type:Full) to weaken and capture the things as a means to control them as she saw fit. She was going to create a world filled with things only she loved. No morals or blind sided motive, just pure bias and greed. The next villain will really have to be toxic and just irredeemable beyond literally anything. I have a feeling that it'll be Ryuki who challenges you as you defend your champion title. He's not only starstruck and a complete cocky asshole, he's got an extremely evil motif about him and even says in his dialogue that the world will be his. It's pretty much hinting to him being the villain of Pokémon Stars, (if it turns out to be real) seeing as how much it's hinted at in his dialogue and costume.
Team Rocket is a criminal syndicate. Aqua and Magma are ecoterrorists. Galactic is essentially a cult, complete with a charismatic leader who aspires to godhood and a mass of indoctrinated followers who mostly feel like they were suckered into the team by playing to their greed or insecurity. Plasma... Plasma is a bit of a sticking point for me. I really liked the idea of Team Plasma in Black and White: an ideological group whose ends aren't diabolical, but whose ideology clashes with the ideology inherent in the game's mechanics and narrative. The problem is, any larger point is undercut by just how generically evil most of the grunts are portrayed as. I can get behind Gehtsis as the true villain pulling the strings for his own selfish ends, but when the grunts are always talking about how much they actually hate pokemon or just want money or whatever, the whole narrative kind of falls apart. Oh, and don't even get me started on Team Flare.
Question: If you must join a evil group in Pokémon, which will you join? For me, Team Skull, their motives may be boring, but their dance and music is really cool
Spoilers for anyone that didn't played Sun and Moon... . . . . . . . . . . . Do a sequel about Pokemon Villains, mostly about Team Skull and The Aether Foundation.
I Really Enjoy Treesicles content since i started watching it about a year ago. RU-vid is a platform that holds a large amount of videos that dives into games but Treesicle one i enjoy the most. the video editing is great, ive seen some shoddy videos where a image slowly fades infor 40 seconds as a 8 year old had edited it for a poorly prepared presentation. The research put in for this channel is fantastic as is shown with every question and story being answered with such deep information than continues to surprise viewers. Grant is a fantastic voice of the show, other channels have me really turned off by their presenter trying to push themselfs over as such a character, to me they forcefully being off the wallor self depercating too much for a cheap pop and to push their personalities. I feel Grant is very geniune with his delivery and also has a (OH MY GOD) voice that many would kill to have. I would like to see if other members of treesicles should be featured in the video slightly, you guys do a lot of hard work and i belive if you wish you should have a segment in a videowhist i still belive that grant should remain as the narrator as his voice is like a brand of treesicle. Sooverall i would say Great with the research! beat wikipedia hands down. great show personaility, include others (but dont push your character too far) ace edting, the man hours it takes.. i can only dread thinking about it. And negatives are.... perhaps too many dick jokes. appart from that thanks for making this content for your following :)
Just some constructive criticism here: I liked how you were building up this video, slowly analysing the core of what each villain's team stood for and that alone made me want to share your video right in the first five minutes in. But the ending seems anti-climactic and kind of a let-down; I realize the idea you want to put forth here, but it still feels like you're just saying "2+2+2=6" right after spending a lot of time describing the significance of 2 over 1. Being honest here, I was actually expecting more from the video, hoping you could take each analysis further and even build further upon what you just proposed. For example: What about the idea that Team Rocket was MEANT to be portrayed as "evil" intentionally by the designers, hence their "organized crime" kind of theme, regardless of how easy it was to persuade Giovanni to disband the team? And how that entire concept evolved into ORAS teams "paving a road to hell with good intentions", as it were? Or that similarly both Galactic and Flare wanted to "end all strife" in the world based on their ideological biases, where Galactic saw emotions as a vice whereas Flare took a more Fascist approach (Holo Caster much)? And now what's being done with Team Skull and the "other" villain in Sun and Moon? This doesn't just sound like "GameFreak wants to make the villains' team trumping the former in ridiculousness then resetting them", Grant. It almost sounds like they're slowly and subtly developing the idea of what it means to be a "villain" - such as how Plasma were "good guys but not really" and now Skull being "bad guys but not really". It's not just what they do, but what they stand for and what they believe and how it affects people that matters here. In fact, it show in Sun and Moon and "Heroes and Villains" concept may not even be so Black and White (hahaha see what I did there), a concept that may not have worked in the simplicity of the Gen1 days. That's called "world-building". And THAT is the story YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU NEVER KNEW! :P
Roxer I disagree with you, actually. XD I've been following this channel for quite a while and am a fan of their content. Videos like this aren't "just" for entertainment, they also provide insights and analysis to things in their own comical style, which is why people love their content. Look at Mirror's Edge video they made and you'll see what I mean.
Personally I think gen 4, was the best because the evil villains plan worked. They made a new world, the next team leader was a step Above the last but there plan wasn't, they also failed. Where team galactic succeeded for 05 minutes before dying.
They all technically do succeed before getting beaten. Giovanni does steal Pokemon and they were able to take over SIlph Co. and would have done a lot more had Red not stopped them. Team Aqua/Magma releases Kyogre and Groudon and their power begins to influence the entire region which would have eventually been the world had Brendan/May not stop them. Team Galactic created a new universe but was defeated and Cyrus indirectly got what he wanted but not in the way he wanted to get it. Team Flare and Plasma were taken down but they did put the idea into peoples heads about liberation (Not that it matters) ...No comment regarding Team Flare (Their plan was actually stopped before any destruction happened)
Okay name one other team thus far that actually Succeeded. Team Rocket wanted to take over the world of business in gen 1, didn't happen. In gen 2 They wanted their boss back, didn't happen. In gen 3 Team Aqua/Magma wanted to change the worlds environment, didn't happen. Gen 4 Team galactic the teams purpose was to literally to either find the perfect world or create it. Gen 5 Team plasma take over Unova failed, and then to destroy it, is Unova still there dunno so maybe ;). Gen 6 Team flare wanted no other entities on earth other then themselves, and last time I checked we have a gen 7, plus there plan just seems to be a bloodier version of what Galactic's plan turned into. All of you seemed to forget there Goals weren't to just gain control of there Genorations legendary Pokémon but that was just a means to a goal that never happened. Lol get dunked on 😝.
Taylor Jones I think that Galactic had the best punishment in the series, unlike Rocket, Aqua and Magma, who got off scott free, or Flare, who just up and exploded, Galactic ended up trapped in the nightmare world they created.
1Kenny30 Galactic is the first team until Aether to remain together after the plot. Saturn runs it now and last we saw planned to turn it into a legitimate group.
I KNEW IT!!! I FUCKING KNEW IT. I called it out to all my friends. The bad guys are the science group in Sun/Moon aren't they? AREN'T THEY?!??!!? I haven't beat the game yet, but that fucking science group rubs me the wrong way, and Team Skull never seemed bad to me even before I started to play the game. They just seem like lost children.
Very well thought out video and all of the points were explained well enough for someone who might not necessarily have played every Pokémon game would be able to grasp all of the info presented. I also really like the idea of SuMo basically being a fresh start for all future villains.
geardog24 spoiler alert . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . pokemon sun/moon villan is a pokemon it might not seem like it at first sight but there is proof about it 1.- lillie explains that her mom wasn't like that until her first encounter with nihilego 2.- lusamine is sick because of some toxins of nihilego 3.- the ultra beasts want to invade the earth but doesn't have the power to do it so nebby accidentaly opens a portal in the aether foundation, nihilego infects lusamine, se becomes crazy and research to open a portal to the ultra beasts world, and they attempt to conquer it or wathever they wanted to do, but you capture them
Rafael Góes Actually in sun and moon, Tape KoKo(not sure about the rest of the tapu's) actually talked, I believe the Regis trio talked as well(don't quote me on that)
So just a note for you, but you were a little off with Galactic and Plasma. Everyone involved with Galactic except for Charon was kept in the dark about Cyrus' true goals. They were villainous, for sure, but they thought the world would be better with them leading it. Cyrus is able to put on a cunning, charismatic front to make his underlings follow him while still keeping them clueless.
As for Plasma, the 'animal rights' stuff only applies to N and the grunts. Ghetsis and the Sages knew it was bullshit from the start and just wanted power. It's why he raised N surrounded by beaten Pokemon, to make him a figurehead and draw people in. Much of Team Plasma, including N' truly believed that Pokemon would be better off free from humans, even intending to release their own Pokemon once N took power. The Team Plasma from BW2 are either new recruits or the ones who actually did want to use pokemon for power.
I don't think it ended Lusamine was physcotic she was frickin scary she wanted to disown her children, stay in another dimension with a killer beast, possibly destroy the world as the beast, and kinda just went insane. Lusamine might have gone crazy from her husband being gone and her taking dangerous amounts of Nihilego venom
The Kirby Crafter it's actually the other way around she became crazy after her first encounter with a nihilego, it infected her and making her want to open anoche portal so them could invade the earth or at least that's wath i think
The Kirby Crafter Yeah. It definitely didn't end. Skull was just a distraction made up of dumb kids who failed in life. Lusamine took advantage of that and wanted to rid the world of ugliness and fill it only with people worthy of her love that listened and obeyed her. When that didn't happen though she fled to Ultra Space where she could have a little bit of what she desired. She truly was insane, possibly, mostly due to the loss of her family and then later on, the effects of Nihilego. And while she wasn't my favorite villain she definitely set some solid ground for future female villains.
She was basicaly possed by the Nilehigo venom..it made her ambitions more pronounced and took control of her. I think she is a selfish person regaurdless, but the venom made it wayy worse. We dont know how long shes been under the influence of the Nilehigo..It could have easily( and most likely been) 5+ years given all the stuff she did to get into the beast world and the time it would have taken to do this. After her defeat I think she is cleanesed of most the venom and her real personality comes back, Id love to see a redemtion arc for her character because the depth used for her and her family makes it an interesting story.
When you add Lusamine and the Aether Foundation to the last part of this current list, it fits perfectly. I honestly think she was one of the craziest villains i've seen in the series
Eric Huang Not only that but you can even battle me AGAIN in the Battle Tree!! But what makes this battle challenging is that this time I got random Pokés!! So you'll have no idea what I'll be throwing out! Heck, some of the Pokés I throw out aren't even bug types!!!
Lusamine was definitely insane, and quite a horrible mother at the end, but she didn't want to harm her world, she wanted to flee it. I think that's fine.
Lillie is the best/worst villain ever she just leaves you behind after everything we did for her that is truly evil I'm calling it your player from sun and moon is the villain in next gen
@BJGvideos A Guy Who Raised a kid and Took from the Wild Naming Him "N", Brainwashing Him...Tried to Kill Hilbert/Hilda....Forced Plasma to Freeze A CITY....Has a level 54 Hydreigon when its supposed to be lvl 60, And how Ghetsis Wants to rule The World....Kill Those who Try To interfere, Has A CYBORG EYE....Your Dumb And Obviously never played BW (If so you suck at paying attention)
Eliott Ryant He wasn't insane though. He was evil. Big difference. Now he snapped at the end of BW2 but prior to that he had just been evil. Not sure why you feel that's worth insulting me over. Also he doesn't have a cyborg eye. He has a lens over his eye and according to concept art the eye is still there but has scars all over it.
You know, Sun and Moon are still sorta following the Super Saiyan Equation. Lysandre was like the Super Saiyan 3/4. Now, Team Skull is resetting back into an entire new branch of gradual level-ups. Or, in Dragon Ball terms, Super Saiyan God. So, yes. Team Skull are Gods.
You never actually talked about Guzma himself and, even if Team Skull aren't the real villains, you could've at least elaborated as to why Guzma made the team in the first place.
In all reality, the super Saipan persuasion effect is still in full momentum, in fact it didn't reset at all. The true villains, and spoiler alert, the Ather Foundation's goal is to literally gain control over two universes(or more depending on if each ultra beast is from a different universe). President Lusamine is trying to gain control over previously mentioned super beasts in order to not only the Ultra wormholes but also all of Ahlola. It's similar to that of Team rockets, Galactics, and Flares plans. One, gain control over the world with power. Two, shower the ultra beasts with "love" in order for Lusamine to gain their favor and become an all powerful leader. And three, eliminate all other life. Now, the last reason seems to be a bit of a stretch but it's repeatedly stated throughout the game that these Ultra Beasts are highly dangerous and will not hesitate to kill if needed. This plan literally tops all the ones before and makes Cyrus look almost sane. Side note, typing this whole thing just gave me chills.
Aether TECHNICALLY wasn't evil, Lusamine was, Aether was just told to keep intruders away and stop you from getting to her, like a roadblock, they were just doing their job, Lusamine is the villain, Aether has good intentions, but they're misguided by the higher ups in Faba and Lusamine look at Wicke for example, she's one of the nicest people in the game, she would never harm anyone! :) the Employees are just misguided and don't realise what they are doing is wrong
PikaPlayzHD Aether still did those experiments and had no qualms about disposing of failed subjects. And Wicke isn't nearly as sweet as people think. She knew Lusamine was abusing her kids for literally years and did nothing to intervene until Lillie directly asked her to.
this is the first video that I have watched of you guys. and the fact that you guys understand and how much detail and thought you did looking into this. I've known this stuff for a long time, it makes me happy to know that someone actually notices this as well. it makes me downright happy to know someone else has noticed the slow progression into Insanity that the villains of Pokemon have gone into. and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Really enjoy the content, The almost 'documentary' nature of some of the videos is superb. Maintaining a crucial balance of humor and intelligence is the key to making the content so enjoyable. Only thing would maybe a weekly/bi-weekly gaming review, brief chat about the news or goings on etc. Regardless I'm an avid fan, keep up the great work.
Everyone knew that Aether fOundation was the true villaIns. Crazy hair design, fashionable clothing, high amounts of cash, Gamefreak basically threw that idea out there the second they introduced them in the trailers
anime king Plus the fact that they were just extremely suspicious. My friend pointed out that there was an overwhelming amount of white, and since white usually represents innocence, it was like they were trying too hard to seem innocent.
Deana Navarro They looked like team galactic had a fusion with team plasma. Also, team skull had no real major goal in mind, they were just team rocket jesse and James, a random nuisance
wait giratina is antimatter right? why is it in the arceus jewel of life movie giratina didnt destroy everything because when antimatter is exposed with matter it destroys everything maybe giratina is the pokemon of gravity because in the distortion world the islands are floating and the water is side ways like if you agree and if you think im wrong say it to me
Alpha Haunter Im pretty sure Arceus put him the Distortion world so he wouldn't destroy anything and then Giratina learned to control his powers in the Distortion world
Jessie and James are the characters in the anime I wish they'd get rid of instead of ash's companies. I'm tired of their antiques. Their nothing but annoying recurring characters.
Noot ruby and sapphire was released a year later... Crystal came out almost two years after Gold/Silver. Never even played Crystal, but I've heard of it.
The Blakeinator7 Well Lusamine froze like what 5 pokemon and caught a jellyfish, Meanwhile we have Giovanni cutting slowpoke tails on a mass scale, forced dangerous evolutions, founded mewtwo's creation, Ghetsis and the entire hooplah, the pokeball protests, the sheer insanity, Lysandre and destroying a planet, Galactic nearly ending all life. Lusamine, I don't really see as a villain, more of just insane after her husband got lost.
love your content. you've covered a lot of different aspect of games I've played in the past with hilarious results. could you do a story timeline for resident evil sometime....I'm sure it will be a story I NEVER KNEW!!!
I love the Super Saiyan Persuasion and how you described it. Getting so evil after some many evil-up level-ups that ya just gotta reset. Except for Lusamine. With her emotional state she should think about hanging out with Ghetsis sometime. They'd get along.
Hmm the amount of effort pout into the video was outstanding you guys nailed the research and the editing it was really informative nd i dont even watch pokemon great work
Well...I just watched a whole video that built up to a point I figured out a while ago. But the narration and editing were great, so I'll give it a like.
This analysis was just that, looking over the facts. I like it more when a creator looks at those facts and deduces a new and interesting perspective or theory.
Good video ;). Also to be honest I would also recommend Pokemon Adventures manga, which actually have really good plotlines. It's shocking how hard it outclasses anime :D.
