In this Critique, I review the most Recent Pokemon games, being Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, remakes of Diamond and Pearl. Today I break apart these games to see if they are any good, obviously as I'm one person you may not agree with me, and that's perfectly fine, that's what opinions are for.

My thing is that the secret bases are nowhere near as fun as in the old games. All you got is statues on pedestals..which is so lame compared to all the items you could put in old secret bases. This game also feels so fast and I do agree the exp share makes it a bit too easy.

As someone who enjoys the worst Pokémon games too this is such a huge disappointment, I absolutely loved Platinum and us Sinnoh fans getting a garbage remake is so sad, I loved FRLG HGSS ORAS so I had so much expectations, not to mention the art style is very disappointing, even XY is better than this and I consider them the worst Pokémon games before
@naeshaunedwards7731

Yeah. I like the remakes a lot, but Platinum still feels better imo. I don’t get why they didn’t take Diamond/Pearl, but add most Platinum in it, Platinum is basically the definitive edition, and the remakes didn’t even add everything from D/P. You can’t team up with any of the characters in the battle tower like the og D/P, not even with a real player, there’s no capture the flag, which could’ve easily been put in, I feel like they should’ve added Barry’s extra moments he had in Platinum, Villa should’ve stayed, Battle Frontier should’ve stayed and the Wi-Fi plaza should’ve returned as well. Also, exp share should’ve been optional, and we should’ve gotten a post game Now I will say that the game did great with the gym leader, Elite 4 and champion rematches because I like that it’s actually a challenge, and I like how you can actually battle Dawn/Lucas, and how there’s that easter egg of Dawn using her team from the anime, and I think Lucas using his manga team if I’m not mistaken. Also the customization is pretty nice. Also, this game really has some great shading, scenery and battle backgrounds for sure. Overall, if Platinum still had its online feature, I honestly think that would be the better game to play and even with without that, I would still recommend Platinum over BDSP, but BSDS isn’t bad though.

@@naeshaunedwards7731 Because, "and I'll say it SLOWLY, so you can understand me," This…is…a Diamond/Pearl…remake…not…PLATINUM! If…they…were…going…to…mainly…focus…on…Platinum…they…would…have…CALLED…it…something…akin…to…Platinum. I don't know, maybe "Polished Platinum!" The point is that you guys were stoked on a Platinum re-make when you were NEVER promised that nor did they suggest any Platinum-exclusive features. On top of that, you were the fans CONSTANTLY nagging Nintendo for D/P/Pt re-makes ALL THE FRICKIN' TIME. YOU pressured them to speed things up. YOU set your standards so high that nothing would satisfy. I would have been perfectly happy with PL:Arceus being the 8.5 Gen game, but you all would never be satisfied until they, "RETURNED US TO SINNOH!" Well, this is what you get. Gamers like you all are why gamers come of as spoiled-rotten babies and gamers like me have to side with the haters to try and minimize the fallout to the fandom.

@@MollyOKami And pl:arceus looks to be another disappointment on the horizon. So, enjoy. We expected something good. A return to form. Heartgold and Soulsilver, Black and White 1/2, and even Oras was pretty good. This feels like they didn't want to try even a little. Junichi Masuda is literally killing Game Freak and Pokemon Company. Nintendo themselves should take the reigns and buy out the Pokemon Company for good. Thus, being in house developed forever on. Each game striving to be better than the last. Each remake being worthwhile. Hell, it would probably be far more ambitious.
@naeshaunedwards7731
@naeshaunedwards7731 2 года назад
@@MollyOKami ok listen, never did I say that these where supposed to be Platinum remakes, what I’m saying is that they should’ve added most of the good stuff from Platinum. Platinum is basically the complete version of the 3, and they’ve already taken so many things from Platinum, and they’ve already added so many new things not included from the og, so they might as well have added the features from platinum everyone’s been begging for. Obviously you can’t make Giratina the main focus since it’s supposed to be Dialga and Palkia (though I feel they could’ve had Cyrus try again post game trying to catch Giratina seeing that his dream might not be completely crushed with that possibility), but things like the Battle Frontier and the Villa should’ve been added. Also, there’s a difference between nagging, and just giving your honest feedback, which I’m giving and if you don’t like it, that’s you’re problem. Also they didn’t even add everything from the og D/P like capture the flag, getting to pick a partner in the battle tower, and festival plaza. You’re acting like I said I don’t like the games at all. I like them, but there are things that still could have been done, and please tell me how I’m being spoiled, I’m just listing things i think would make the game better. I do agree that there are a lot of spoiled people in the Pokémon community, but you aren’t going to mix me in with them, I give my feedback and that’s that, and I don’t even hate the remakes because I actually find them decent and alot of good things where done in it, I just think there are some basic, simple things that should have been added, and things that should be in the game.

@@MollyOKami dude, don’t try to blame the fans for a fundamentally broken game. The games are playable but there’s no excuse to have broken collisions, awful exp share that pretty much ruins any difficulty the game could have and an awful affection system that straight up cheats for you. I don’t care if it was rushed, they took the time to implement things nobody asked for and that made the game worse, the downfall of this game wasn’t being too faithful, but being faithful for all the wrong reason while changing the things that worked fine. If they were gonna mess up with exp to make things easier why keep the annoying fog and mud? Why keep tms limited? Why keep the lame underground mini game? You can’t say it was to be faithful because they changed a bunch of things that made this awful to play. How is this ever the fans fault? If they were so rushed why bother and add bad changes to the game? Why change stuff that changes everything so much. If they weren’t rushed then why only change some aspects of the game and not better it? HGSS was amazing because it added a bunch of necessary changes that made the experience amazing, this is just a worse version of Platinum, they could have at least made a Platinum remake instead, if they weren’t gonna change any of the problems at least use the game with the least amount of problems…

So true, I myself played at least one iteration of every gen and remake. I was very disappointed with Ultra Sun´s lack of a new spirit and content. I wanted to return and grab a switch for the long awaited Sinnoh remakes, but man, it hurts to consider spending so much money on them. Ain´t got a switch yet and the state of the game is not only wasted potential, but pain to see happening. I don´t wan´t a remaster of the games I own and still can play on my DS or 3DS. I wan´t a somewhat bold remake of my first and favourite Gen. And considering Gamefreak does Legends Arceus I don´t know, if I should get my hopes up, that this will be he console seller for me..

@@ecryloxr89 I'm just tired of them cutting corners and taking the easy way out! You would think if a company didn't know how to implement something properly they'd hired someone that could, but nope not with GameFreak. They take away features we love all the time, and add stuff no one asked for. On top of that they have much better hardware with the Nintendo Switch and yet they seem to do the bare minimum at all times. Is it so hard to give hardcore fans what they want, while also pleasing those that like the game(exp: ability to turn off or on EXP share/Difficulty system)....I just want to see another company work on Pokemon. Pokemon Snap looks much better than the main line games, the Pokemon have so much personality and animations that you'll never see in main line games. While the textures/lighting/movement seems really good as well. Like GameFreak please hire someone that knows how to work 3D models and animations.

You forgot to mention that there's no Move Tutors in this game (even tho ORAS had them) Meaning moves like Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Superpower, Earth Power, Heat Wave, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Zen Headbutt, etc. as well as moves that probably would've been Move Tutors too like Liquidation, High Horsepower, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Wild Charge, Power Whip, Close Combat, Body Press, Mystical Fire, Hurricane, Throat Chop, Knock Off (maybe), etc. are *"transfer exclusive-only"* This also means you would have to still have a copy of SwSh or worse SM/USUM to even have those moves in the first place, and you have to pay for a subcription of Pokemon Home for a minimum of $3 a month and at max $20 a year (depending on how many mons you have to deal with).

I got the Game, and so far I've been enjoying it, but I'd attribute it to ~90% to it being my first time in Sinnoh and me really liking the Region. I like the Underground, but other than that there are so many weird things going on, the level curve is abysmal, weird bugs all over, and the grafics are really bad, especially on the overworld. I can't play it in the overworld for long without getting a headache from eyestrain. I think it would have been really good if they adjusted the trainer levels, reshuffled the regional dex to include a bit of the newer generations and had consistent scaling and better/more consistent colours and contrasts. The things that make this game bad seem so out of place for me, even considering other recent shortcomings.
@brainsteroids8043

I agree. Enjoyable, but creatively stunted. BDSP might not be good compared to other remakes, but they're till superior to SWSH and USUM. The creative growth stunting of the remakes are mainly the fault of Junichi Masuda. The main issues with the game is the lack of lore expansion, no new forms for the legends, the lack of difficulty, and the enforced exp share issue. National dex issues still suck, but they're way better than those in SWSH. Besides those faults, I appreciate ILCA's work. My personal favorite feature is the return of following pokemon in the overworld, without having to pay for a shitty dlc pack. Diamond and Pearl were big games, and it took a lot to remake them. Once again, BDSP is actually a step in the right direction in comparison to the shitshow that was SWSH/USUM. (Albeit an unfortunately small step).

So as usual I forgot to mention something and i focused on it slightly at the end, that is the art style Now on one hand the game looks vibrant and honestly not bad at all in the overworld, the water looks outstanding, but of course the trainers look, wrong? the in-battle graphics look good for the most part, the battle backgrounds look great excluding the generic cave and Team Galactic battle backgrounds, models are mostly fine (Looking at Cranidos) Move animations as always are fine for the mostpart, something about surf in these games just looks... off Art is the most subjective thing in a game, we likely won't agree on this and that's fine but let's agree on this also WHY CAN YOU STILL DO WAKE AND MAYLENE OUT OF ORDER? The best thing these games brought is the Ekans Roomba when selected as the Pokemon that follows you

You know how bad these games are? Let's Go P/E are vastly superior to them in every way. Sure, those were also nostalgia-baiting, obvious cash grabs too, but you know what? LG P/E at the very least implemented quality of life features like the physical/special split of ironically, gen 4 into the game. Fairy/Steel/Dark type Pokemon and moves are in this game, so are Mega Evolutions and Alolan forms, oh, and Pokemon follow you too, some of them you can even ride, cross water, or fly the skies with. And most of them have unique animations. And most importantly LG P/E are remakes of YELLOW (aka, the superior version of Red and Blue) while BDSP are remakes of D/P and not Platinum (aka, the superior version of Gen 4). LGP/E are just overall better and more importantly, FUN games that I'm replaying now because BDSP are such a chore to play.

Very good critique! The one thing I just can’t agree with u on is the difficulty (unless u were only talking about the originals or platinum). I do agree that exp share is a good feature and that the e4 is one of the most challenging. My issue is the amount the games limit u to make it more difficult. Even though exp share is better on, there’s no reason y there shouldn’t be at least the OPTION to turn it off. I could also rant all day about FRIENDSHIP. Trainers also almost never fail to be 10 levels below u with their unevolved bronzor. All of these things make prior to the e4 an absolute joke (including gyms). I have found genuine challenge prior to e4 in previous games and it’s sad that I can’t experience it here. Even for all other easy pokemon games, I have found ways to make it a challenge for myself. This is the one game that I can’t do that due it limiting me. Sorry for going on about this, it’s just that making pokemon play throughs a challenge is what makes them fun for me. Not hatin tho, loved all other points in critique Also WONDER TRADES GETTING A PATCH??? This alone will get me to return to the game if that’s rlly tru lol

Completely reasonable, the difficulty is the one thing i've seen myself in the minority with these games specifically. Like sure the movesets, items, and stats makes everything more threatening, but the Affection boosts can make that obsolete. Now sure i've only played these games twice and DIDN'T battle every optional I could, so i certainly can't speak on the overleveling problem.

I swear if they made a Pokémon BDSP 2, that proof they screw up the remake. They have everything to make a good remake but nope! They prefer lent the remake to another company (which is infamous for Pokémon Home) and focus on Legend of Arceus! Are their forgetting that Platinum fix many issue from DP because it was publish in the early year of the DS? The Cloning Glitch removes the rarity value of Pokémon because it works on rare Pokémon and items. No friendship when you level up with Pokémon. It is a wild discovery on Twitter since they start trading them.

I know this would sound outrageous but hear me out. Maybe BDSP was intentionally made to be lackluster and quite mediocre because GameFreak doesn't want this game to outshine their new game that they are releasing on January 2022 (Pokemon Legends Arceus). It's also why GameFreak gave ICLA the responsibility for creating one of the worst remake in the Pokemon franchise, so that any legitimate criticism we have is directed against ILCA instead of GameFreak. The actual villains in this whole shitshow are Masuda and Ohmori. So long as these two hacks remain the prominent figurehead in GameFreak, you won't be seeing any good Pokemon game that could rival HGSS.

Im not gonna defend let alone point out some of the positives that BDSP haves cause you are right. I am however want to point out that despite all that these games are selling worldwide regardless and why is that? Because its Pokemon. And for those who say that they wont support Gamefreak or any new Pokemon games, keep in mind that not gonna stop Gamefreak pumping more Pokemon games and stuff. After 25 years Pokemon its still growing strong with new merchandises,tv shows/anime,movies and other games. And if you think because YOU might not support Gamefreak anymore, keep in mind you've already purchase/play the old Pokemon games long ago and are still enjoying them and whys that? Cause you still love Pokemon. Also despite some of the lack luster of gameplay on some of these games, Gamefreak dosent dissapoint in making new Pokemon, some of which that has some rather interesting designs and lore about them. And the ones that purchase these games for children, others purchase them for shiny hunting, creating a team for online battles and those on You Tube to make content like Poketubers playing the game, hosting tournaments or even critizing/reviewing the games like this one. And rumor has it that gen 9 maybe coming later in 2022 but who knows, Gamefreak is sure to bring out more Pokemon content down the line, they aint stopping now and not stopping till then.

I got BD because I never played the originals or Platnium so some of the issues people raise weren't a problem for me. I never had a DS and I'd lost interest in Pokemon long before it ever came out, but it does kind of feel like part of the problem is GameFreak themselves didn't do this remake and it suffered. I believe the only other thing this company had made before they did this was the Pokemon Home app and no games if I'm not mistaken. The collision issue to me feels like while the game is now 3d in a non-grid world, the game itself still thinks it's a 2d game in a grid world because it's...well it's a poorly made remake. Hopefully GameFreak will outsource the next game to someone else or do it themselves, because right now based on BDSP it feels like when they did Let's Go and evidently decided to remaster the older gens they came to realise that with them making the newer games in the series, they couldn't do it themselves but "Well we said we'd do them soooo....let's find someone else to make them if we give them all the assets, what could go wrong?" and this is the result.

As positive and unbiased as I am about Pokémon, I feel like these remakes were by far the least fun I've ever had playing a Pokémon game. I didn't feel like I was playing a new and improved version of Diamond and Pearl at all. It felt more like they took the original games and made a Switch port where the only notable change is that it's all in 3D now. I was getting tired of these games after I beat the champion so I couldn't be bothered with all the post-game stuff and that fatigue from Brilliant Diamond carried over into my nuzlocke of Shining Pearl, which I lost but I didn't care. I was just glad the run was over, as proud as I was for pressing on to the end. I have no desire to play them again or keep playing them. Every time I do, I immediately get bored with them because very little in the games is new to me. Nothing from Platinum added to the main game like how Heart Gold and Soul Silver added content from Crystal, the Grand Underground ended up feeling not so grand to me after a while with secret bases being a dumping grounds for your own personal Terracotta Army and the tedium of mining for a specific item to catch all the legendaries in the post-game. Heck, as much as I hate to admit it, adding new Gigantamax forms to the "remakes" like they added new Megas in ORAS probably would've made things more interesting. I understand they wanted to stay faithful to the original games and, for the most part, they accomplished that. However, and I'm sure most of us can agree, that came with a pretty heavy cost. It was too faithful, as the reviews I watched have stated. They were made faithful to the point that they were boring and void of replay value. And they felt more incomplete that the state the games were shipped to us in. The absence of Sylveon, Regieleki, Regidrago and other Pokémon from the other generations also contributed to my loss of interest in BDSP and made the games feel isolated from the rest of the mainline series. Before Legends Arceus, I had more fun with SwSh and the Let's Go games than BDSP and, even individually, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were a bigger waste of my money than Pokémon Platinum for €100, which itself was basically a remake of the original Diamond and Pearl. I regret shelling out €60 each for both versions of the Diamond and Pearl remakes. They were clearly not that much from what I've experienced.

I honestly couldn’t believe how many bad decisions went into this game. Not giving the gym leaders their superior Platinum teams? Not updating the map or even just the visuals of the towns? (Just look at ORAS. Those games did a beautiful job of updating the region!) Not allowing you to turn off exp share, making hardcore Nuzlockes impossible to even play? And most egregiously, making TMs limited use again? Why are we going backwards? I can’t believe how much effort and quality is in this video, and yet your subscriber count is so low! This is a crime that must be fixed. You got one more today.

It Amazes me how Just Two months later, everybody says BDSP are terrible games.. Y'all didn't know that the First time y'all played D&P??? Honestly, the only thing that disappointed me was that you Pokestans and Poketubers weren't up in arms for a Pulsating Platinum instead. Let's be honest, D&P are the worst of the first 5 gen Pokémon games, and I use Fire Red & Leaf Green as the basis for Gen 1. It's not better than G&S, not better than R&S, and Certainly not worthy enough to tie BW 1&2's shoelaces.

The thing about patches is that in a few years you will not be able to get them since the service will be gone like the wii and ds ones so you will be left with a version that is broken! Sure you could look for them online etc. But that doesn't change the fact that the base game is unfinished etc. It's funny because i can still play nes,snes etc. games today and they work just fine and are full products unlike gaming nowadays where i have over 100 games for my consoles and a bunch of hard drives that contain the actuall full versions of those games even the so called definitive editions have tons of patches! It's a mess!

I emulated Pokemon BDSP to see if it's worth buying or not, and holy shit! Was it not worth it, The Character Model (not the chibi) was such a downgrade from Pokemon SW, Pokemon SW Animations might be bad but I have to admit that the Character Designs are incredible, they show a lot of emotions and characters, and it looks like The Designers put a lot of effort in making them, but in Pokemon BDSP The Character Models looks terrible and uninspired, atleast in Pokemon ORAS They change the designs of Characters instead of making the previous versions designs into 3D.

You are completely missing the point of the Exp. Share criticism. It isn't even about how it affects leveling, which it still completely does and there have been countless comments made by people who's gameplay experience has suffered from it, it's how it forces players to jump through hoops inorder for them to be able to play the games the way they want to be have always been capable of. The problem is that it's forced on for everyone. That's it. That's the issue. Make it optional like it always used to be and nobody would complain about it.

I find myself agreeing with most of what you say about these games, but not all of it. I likewise find it frustrating that the developers did not endeavor to improve on the original games; "faithful" does carry a negative connotation with these games. However, it must be understood why remakes of older games are even made. Are they meant to improve upon the original games through means not available before? Or are remakes meant to introduce newer generations to that of older games? I find myself in the second group in regards to BDSP. The original sinnoh games are not that easy to come by these days. To that end, I would argue that these games deserve a higher score than 3.9 out of 10. I'll admit that I am biased when it comes to Pokémon, and I am aware that it may at times affect my judgement regarding these games. I found your take on these games to very interesting and thought-provoking; I enjoyed your video.

The reason the exp share is brought up is because it is the perfect example of why Pokemon and Gamefreak are the laziest company and game in the world. The highest grossing franchise in the world and games that will sell in the millions no matter what, the fact that Gamefreak can't even let people choose to turn on or off a simple, barely even an itch, exp share, is the perfect indicator of how little they care, as they bathe themselves in the billions of dollars they make.

Uhm... The forced EXP share argument was never about grinding. Some more experienced players want to face gym leaders with some extra challenge. Grinding negates this much desired challenge. By being underleveled players will have to come up with more creative ways to overcome this challenge. (Type match up and super effective moves isn't everything.) Optional EXP share was never an issue to begin with. It's can be as as simple as a toggle in the settings menu. The issue in this case seems to be the inconsistent difficulty. Sometimes you got an overleveled team only to not be so overleveled at the elite four.

Unfortunately Pokemon will not get better until the fans do. The real reason the games are worse and worse was because when Game Freak actually tried to make a great new fresh innovative game, fans bitched and complained and those titles sold poorly. I'm sure you guys know what I am refering to. Well then Pokemon started to pander to nostalgia over quality and make games easier for all the smooth brains who complained about the challenge. Now since they market to a new generation it's even more unlikely the games will get better. We have ourselves to blaim Pokemon fans. We took the quality of gen 1- 5 for granted. Why should GF make a good title if quality is no longer lucrative.

The only thing BDSP has it going are it's 3D graphics (which is still mediocre compared to other Switch title), the addition of Fairy typing & all the abilities and most moves introduced after Gen 4, the new breeding mechanics, and the convenience to create a competitively balanced team with ease. That's it. Unlike the past remakes, there's >No additional new Pokemon from Gen 4 onwards >No additional area/new plot >No connectivity with the new gen games (like how you're able to connect remakes with their contemporary new gen series). So what actually makes BDSP worth playing over something like Renegade Platinum which is basically almost as same as BDSP, minus some post Gen 4 stuff? If you're not a competitive player and play the game just to experience the story mode/completing the Pokedex/challenging the Battle Tower (once again keeping with the tradition of not including Battle Frontier), then BDSP isn't worth over Renegade Platinum. The latter also has Battle Frontier.

In my opinion BDSP are the worst remakes of all time. Here are some reasons why: 1. Faithfulness: Unlike other remakes, this game literally copy & pastes 90% of the game from diamond/pearl. Diamond/Pearl are games from 2006. You cannot copy almost everything from a game that more than 15 years old. (Remember this is a remake not a remaster!). Almost everything is copied: All dialogs, the storyline, the chibi art style, the national dex, old pokemon encounters and even the Poketch were copy & pasted to this game. Pokemon games have been improved in the past years and had many quality of life changes like 3D art style, overworld Pokemon encounters and reusable TMs. None of these changes were adapted to the game which is just sad. This game is too faithful and faithful sounds more like a excuse for lazyness. 2. Not-Platinum-Based: So they copy & pasted 90% from the old Sinnoh game but not based on Platinum? Diamond & Pearl had several weaknesses and Platinum fixed many of them and included many Quality of Life changes. Here are some Platinum improvements over Diamond/Pearl: It extends the storyline with additional content, new dialogs, new characters like Charon and a new map Distortion world (loved it). The rival was a bit too weak in Diamond/Pearl which was fixed in Plat. The Poketch has a reverse Button. It has the battle frontier. And finally: the Sinnoh dex which was baaad in Dia/Pearl was fixed. The bad sinnoh dex in dia/pearl has only very few Fire Pokemon (very weird). Gym leaders were forced to use weird mons in the main game like Electric gym leader using Octillery or IceType gym leader using Medicham (WTF? Despite Sinnoh having enough Ice/Electric mons) and also many sinnoh mons were restricted to the postgame. Thats means many of the favourite sinnoh mons cannot be used in your team for the main story. But Platinum fixed this issue and created a NEW sinnoh dex which fixed all these issues which made the main story like a sinnoh game. ALL of these great changes of Platinum where NOT included in BDSP. This means BDSP uses the OLD sinnoh dex, OLD dialogs, OLD storyline, NO new character like Charon, NO distortion world and NO battle frontier. That makes BDSP a worse Sinnoh remake than Platinum which was released in 2008. (Imagine a 2008 DS game of the same Region beats you in ALL aspects. WTF) 3. EXP-Share & Friendship-System: One of the most hated features is the EXP-Share system which often leads to WAY more exp than in the past games. In my opinion, the EXP-Share is not too bad. BUT diamond/pearl were not designed to be played with the new EXP-Share system. So if you include an EXP-Share system, you have to increase all levels of the pokemon (from opponent). But they didnt which makes the difficulty of this game too easy.Basically, my whole team was too oveleveled. And the friendship-system is the worst luck-based system i ever saw. A feature that increases the Critical hit-chance,removes paralysis, lets me dodge 100% accurate moves and even lets me survive moves with 1HP. WTF did you smoke gamefreak? And the worst is that, you cannot make any of these optional. Because of that many players who love to do a nuzzlock in Sinnoh, prefer the old DS games. 3. No Innovation: This game not only copy & pastes the majority of its content, it adds nothing new to the game. Lets review some good remakes: HeartGold/SoulSilver (HG/SS) were Gen 2 remakes and included some storyline from Crystal and added many new stuff like the pokeathlon, battle frontier (from sinnoh), gen 1 map/storyline, a complete national dex and the pokewalker. HG/SS were not copy & pasted, but actually remade the game and added good new stuff. Also Alpha ruby&omega saphire (ORAS) have new changes like new art-style , new designs for Team magma/aqua, new Mega-forms, new Primal forms, changes to dialogs and storyline and the complete national dex. BDSP on the other hand does not provide any kind of major change in the game which makes this game really boring. It does have a new Underground which has overworld pokemon, but that is nothing special for 2022 and the ramanas park was neat but nothing too exciting. 4. Underground/Super-Contest: The old underground allowed to create your own living room with furnitures and set traps to troll friends online. Both were removed for a statue system which is really boring. Collecting statues and the effects of the statues are really disapointing. The Super-Contest used to be a fun-mode where you had many different options and varities and had to have good reflexes to do the correct moves at the correct time. Now all you have to do is Press A at the correct time and use 1 attack. That makes this mode so boring and disapointing. I mean, was it really that hard to let the player press like 4 different buttons instead of just 'A'?? 5. Art-Style: Many of us expected a modern review of Sinnoh in a 3D human like Art-style. But they decided to go for the Chibi-Art-Style. Everyone has different tastes but in my opinion the Chibi-Art-Style ruins many serious moments of the story line of this game, especially vs team galactic. It feels like all the emotions of the characters were removed. The reason why it was used in Diamond/Pearl was because of the limited hardware. In my opinion the Chibi-Art-Style waas the wrong decision and does not suit a switch game at all. 6. Only Gen 4: BDSP has a national dex which includes the pokemon from Gen 1-4 which is basically the same as Diamond/Pearl. As a player who would have loved to see at least some Pokemon from Gen 5-8 in Sinnoh, i am very disappointed. At least some Pokemon post Gen4, or some new forms or at least add Sylveon in this game. Not even mega-forms were included in this game. The fact that 95% of the megas are from Gen1-4 and the underground being the perfect place to grind the mega-stones, makes this decision even more disapointing. The reason why diamond/pearl was limited to Gen 1-4 was because there werent any other new pokemon. The reason why BDSP limited the game to Gen 1-4 is because of lazyness.. 7. PVP: On of the worst things in this game is everything arround PVP. The worst disrespect a main series pokemon game can get, is when GameFreak calls that all the competitive tournaments including the world championship will not take place in BDSP (WTF?). Unlike Sword/Shield, you have no option to search for PVP matches which makes it way harder to find battles. But the worst thing is the grind for a PvP team: TMs are not reusable (WHY?!). For some important TMs like Earthquake, you have to grind for 80BP (WTF. Thats a lot of Grind). Also you cannot catch pokemon with hidden abilities except those from poke radar. To get the hidden ability you have to grind for the ability patch for 200BP (WTF. Grind competitive to create a competitive. Nice system). By putting important PVP items behind such ridiculously high grind walls, it makes creating a PVP team disgusting. 8. Events: The events were also copy & pasted from Diamond/Pearl. Same Shaymin event, same Darkrai event. And other events are only accesible if you bought other main series pokemon game (Why..). And finally some garbage "events" which include some useless statues. Meanwhile, the 3 year old SW/SH getting better and innovative events like new PVP cups/tournaments and some legendary shinies. In my opinion the events in BDSP are disapointing. 9. Bugs/Glitches: Holy Moly! This game had so many bugs and glitches! You dont even need hacks, when the game itself has to many glitches. Many of them where completely broken. Many Pokemon clone glitches and item dupe glitches ruined the game. You could even get infinity money, create your own shinies (WTF), make your pokemon 6IV and let any Pokemon learn any move. I used to be in a discord for trading in BDSP and because of the glitches, the trade market was only about getting shiny 6IVs etc. Not to forget to mention the soft locks which made you restart the whole game which can happen for example in the ice gym. Usually every games has a few bugs. But this one had too many and too many game breaking glitches. A very hyped game like this shouldnt be developed by a 3rd party company.. But Gamefreak had other plans.. 10. Controls: The controls of this game feel weird and uncomfortable. Characters move in a grid which looks so weird during the storyline. The pokemon who follow me often block me in a bad way. The underground has many inivisible walls which makes moving in some rooms horrible. And finally the control with the cycle are the worst. The cycle in pokemon games are a beloved feature but in this game.. It feels so uncomfortable moving with the cycle, I sometimes even prefer walking. 11. The original Game dia/pearl and also Platinum was sold for like 40$. Meanwhile the clearly inferior game BDSP was sold for 60$. And now if you think about it: That 90% of the game was purely copy & pasted and has plenty of weaknesses and bugs, you realize that BDSP is just a cow getting melked -> Its clearly a rip-off! 12. Conclusion: It feels like GameFreak didnt want to do a Sinnoh remake but wanted to milk some money by releasing the highly demanded Sinnoh remake. The fact that, they hired a 3rd party company who never developed a major game, only supports this theory. Not forget to mention that, BDSP had a giant day one patch which was essential to enjoy the game. The fact that they released Legends Arceus almost 1-2 months after BDSP release also supports the theory, that they didnt care at all for this remake. Because of the release of Legends Arceus, the hiring of ILCA, the amount of glitches, the boring events, the exclusion of VGC, the 0 Innovation in this game and the fact that the majority of the game is copy & paste of a 2006 game (Dia/Pearl) which is worse than a 2008 Game (Platinum), makes this game the worst remake of all time in my opinion.

Entire video is a nitpick, it’s a remake that stayed faithful to the original game like wtf did you expect?

I am looking forward to get both Pokemon brilliant diamond and Pokemon shining pearl games for Christmas🎄. I also would liked to play as Dawn and choose Piplup as my starter Pokemon so I can do better than the anime Dawn and what Piplup would never do. And that is catching more Pokemon and evolve Piplup into Prinplup and then to Empoleon. However when I was watching RU-vid of any ideas what to expect on Pokemon brilliant diamond and Pokemon shining pearl, but when I was looking to find out about Wonder Trade that I've just found out today that at the moment is unavailable😱. I mean it isn't fair because I was looking forward to get both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl games for Christmas and I was hoping to used Wonder Trade for any Pokemon I want since it's the most important part of every Pokemon Games. Now I'm going to have to wait in early January to hear more news at least that what I though it's going to happen😒.

on their own merit the games are pretty nice, so i hope you enjoy the games but yeah, it's an honest shame the feature isn't in the game yet, at least it's coming eventually though

I would have to say I had a much different experience. I'm 31 years old and i have been playing Pokemon solid since 1999. I probably stopped playing just before Diamond and Pearl because I did not get a DS. When I did I started with platinum and HeartGold I didn't play Diamond and Pearl until a little bit after I got my hands on a copy of diamond. Don't get me wrong I like the game but man was it garbage. So far I have loved my experience with brilliant diamond, I am a sucker for the chibi Style , if they changed it I don't think they could call it a remake. And for those who want to play Diamond and Pearl with modern Graphics Can play Legends Arceus. For me brilliant diamond looks absolutely amazing. It plays so smooth as well for me. I really love the affection mechanic it makes it feel a lot more like the anime. I agree there is a lot more text than is necessary and I do agree they should be able to turn the experience share on and off even though I really appreciate the experience share giving to all teammates. I spent over 20 years playing Pokemon games grinding hard it's good to play a game I don't have to fucking grind anymore. Me personally I've never been into randomizer Nuzlocke I am a very vanilla Pokemon player and if I want my experience be different I build a different team. Lately I have been trying ROM hacks if you really want to enjoy Generation 4 I would suggest the new rom hack for platinum. I haven't tried it but it looks amazing. I would have to admit brilliant Diamond does lack a lot of platinum content it could have included however junichi Masuda and the creators of Pokemon had a special vision in mind and not all people were going to see it. Brilliant Diamond shining Pearl and legends Arceus a perfect Trilogy that people are going to be proud of I know I am. I'm in the Pokemon Simp class. Generation 5 is when I really started to do competitive and then I fell out before Pokemon X and Y Omega Ruby and Sun and Moon and came back for Ultra Sun and Moon. I actually did really enjoy Pokemon sword and shield I still replay them. I like how this which can have multiple profiles and I can just replay the game's over and over. And as someone who grew up with Pokemon Yellow as their first played Pokemon game I really appreciate Pokemon let's go and it shows how far Pokemon has come and how advanced it can be and how respectful can be to its original Source material. In conclusion I personally love brilliant diamond and Shining Pearl I have both copies now with multiple playthroughs logging in multiple hours and the single greatest thing about it is the pokeradar and now I have a box full of shiny Pokemon and I love shiny hunting in Brillion diamond and shining Pearl. Sucks you couldn't have had the same experience but everyone does experience Pokemon in a different way and I won't judge you if you don't like these games you are able to enjoy Pokemon in your own way and so am I

@@LITTLE1994 if I had Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon yellow with all the attachments. That's literally the only video game I would ever need. That's how old school I go. I'm such a generation 1 veteran that I'm still programmed with the Mind Control to catch them all although it was only recently that I have acquired a full living Dex in Pokemon home I caught them all
