thank you so much for making this video, i had an old fake of pokemon ruby for several years and i was always just so happy to have it that i didnt wonder why they always looked differently for others. thinkijg about it, it does make sense considering the battery is dear and replacing it didnt work either. i put so much time and effort into it, hoping to be able to have a fully working copy, that i will now go cry(i am overall okay. i prefer the painful truth)
The fake one also has a different raised font for the "advance" that is molded into the top of every cart where it says "Game boy advance". Some fakes have this raised wire-like font, whereas real ones have a flat bold font. Granted some fakes may have the flat font, but if it's a raised wire like font it's definitely fake. You can see it clearly in this video on the red fake.
Thank you for this video I have had Pokémon ruby game since I was 9 now I’m 23 and seeing this video while reviewing my cartridge just makes me happy that mine is legit
Thanks a lot! I bought a Ruby copy from eBay a couple years ago and I always wondered if it was fake or not. Turns out it’s authentic! Pretty decent and pickup since I think it was around 50-60 bucks loose.
My local games store, the only one on island. Is selling copies Ruby and Sapphire in cart cases just like that, for $50 I wasn't sure if they were real. I actually do have a fake GBA, which contains the English translation of Mother 3. The backside of my copy of Mother 3 looks exactly like the fake copy of Ruby you displayed in your video. I'm actually looking for an authentic cart, thanks your vid was very helpful.
I had the black one and I can't believe it's a fake :(, I remember me and my parents got it on a toy kingdom in glorietta for like 500php back in 2009 I think and I really thought it was original
@@pokeboy14a mine is fake (i had a sapphire) It even had the numbers and looked like the real one and had the correct E… the only thing that made me knew it was fake was it said the game can be played since I only have the dsi
@@pokeboy14a i tried to see if i just saw wrong again but the cart is stuck in. The battery on the cart wasn't dead since I could still pick berries and do stuff.
Thank you for this. I want to check my games that my brother gave me that he got at a yard sale for $5 and it came with a ds lite and a gameboy advance and platinum and diamond and ruby and sapphire and emerald and I wanted to know if they were real and they are. It’s crazy he got all of those for $5 the kids didn’t not know what they had and sold it. I bet now after they look at the listing on eBay for them they will be like crap
sorry about that! they do save and trade with original games. there are theories that some crazy things happen when you do trade. one commenters stated when you trade like a gengar from the fake, it can turn to another pokemon like an onyx when it reaches the original.
@@pokeboy14a thats so cool! thanks i just found a 5 star and all reviews are good for Pokemon sapphire Pokemon ruby Pokemon emerald Pokemon fire red Pokemon leaf green Only 35$ and was just making sure it doesn't got a battery like a gameboy color cartridge is all,you still have the games today? What about a ds game of Pokemon?

I bought one on eBay with that case but it’s real. The seller didn’t display the case but they shipped it with one. I was worried at first when I got it in the mail and saw that case
