Hey guys, welcome to LOST BITS! Where I will cover unused and unseen things in various games! In this video we explore Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal to have a look at various cut sounds, sprites and more! I thought the The Pokemon Generation 1 games had a lot of cut content, but these games have way more!

Fun fact:- if you take a gen 2 Pokémon to the Game Freak office in Alola, one of the staff says that they "were in a real bind" trying to get 2 region's into one cartridge. "Then a wonderful guy came along and created software that really helped us out. He went on to become the president of a big company not long after."

Fun fact on the "Mow" move: the idea that it was meant to cut down patches of tall grass was probably used in Gen3. By going into the Pokemon menu and selecting Cut (as you would Dig or Teleport) in tall grass lets you cut a patch around you. Nifty detail, but it seems to have been cut (huehuehue) by Gen4, sadly

People thought he was trying to cop out (or worse, profit from his wife's suffering), and made fun of him and the comic with memes depicting the basic format of the comic in increasingly absurd ways, like the Picross thing at 5:14

Way late to the party, but the "Mow" field move got my attention immediately -- it's not well known because it's never explained to the player, but Cut can be used to remove 4 tiles of tall grass in front of you in GSC! Sounds like they originally intended to make that its own move, realized it made more sense to lump it in with the tree-cutting field move.......and then forgot to say anything about it.

In generation 1 (well red and blue not sure about yellow) continously using Pay Day during battle can further increase money picked up after battles, it also works during wild encounters. This might be a glitch or bug because I'm pretty sure in later generations that Pay Day won't stack if used multiple times in a battle

I'm honestly surprised there's even unused content in the released versions cause of how much they had to crunch down on just to get two regions in the game. I really hope they release a new pokemon game that takes it up a notch from what these games did and let's us go to multiple regions.

I'm curious what would happen if you tried using that Error field move in front of tall grass or a small tree. If it really is the move mow like you suggested, then maybe it has something to do with cut. Maybe cut would be used for trees and mow for removing tall grass?

Also in 1999 demo some places in kanto was similar to their originals from gen 1 like viridian city lacking trainer house, pewter city having museum, fuschia city having Safari zone and the biggest change was in cinnabar island

@@prokeikas7284 see I've heard both however my guess is time, not storage because at the time they were using compression software. Furthermore the amount of content in Gold/Silver to Pokemon Crystal is a lot more. Crystal had the mobile GB system, celebi event, and the battle tower.
