It's a bit of a tale of two cities in my newest Pokemon Investing video: Pokemon Investing May 2024 | Invest In These Pokemon Cards Right Now!
Starting swith Scarlet & Violet era cards, there are a lot of cards from the newer sets that are coming down in price. We'll see big price drops in Temporal Forces, Paldean Fates, and Paradox Rift, whereas Scarlet & Violet 151 is holding up quite well.
Then we look at Sword & Shield era, and lots of cards, especially alt art cards, are exploding in price. Let's check it out!

The pull rates on these sets are terrible. You’d have to spend $1000 on packs to pull a blaziken. $1000 on packs to pull a Gengar/Geratina. And then to get them graded perfect 10s… I don’t know what this means for the value of the packs in these sets.. we’ve never seen pull rates this bad.

Uhh sorry dude but you have to be new at this because Sun & moon and Xy were just as bad 😂 and if you want good pull rates then the cards will be literal 🗑️ and 0 value, bad pull rates is the whole chase. Where it fails is that your pretty much only chasing the big hits there’s no In between

Seems like a regular trend that older generation cards will increase in value while the newer ones will decrease. Whenever next gen comes out, I anticipate similar talks about SV gen but I could be wrong

Ur right. Cause people will feel less is being opened so singles will get bought out but SV wont be like SWSH. It looks like what the japanese market went theough madddd pumping

I agree, just cracked open my box I’ve had sitting for A year and needless to say, made out with 250 worth from a 100 dollar box. Also got my second moltres. Agree the card is amazing!

Excellent video bro, very good information as always. With the evolution of prices of the most valuable cards from different sets. This helps us decide which set we can buy and on which we can make some profit. Keep it up bro, I'll be watching your next videos. i have the japanese versions of the 151 starters/mid evos and they are worth nothing how come the english versions are worth so much more?

Because we don't allow Japanese cards to be used in the English tcg which is bullshit I mean some locals don't really care but tournaments nope they won't let you play Japanese cards even if you have n English version of the card your trying to play

I'm the same! Can't wait to have the entire set, so much so I've started doing a second set with all my doubles. I had to buy the Zard though! £85 but honeslty in prestige condition!

Hello, im wondering if in 10 years these cards will be worth anything. Since probably 30 new sets have been released by then. The amount of different cards on the market will be huge. Wjat you guys think?

I think from a PR perspective though, it's pretty bad. Imagine you are a parent and your kid wants an alt-art from evolving skies. I think something needs to change but idk. Feels morally wrong when I see younger audiences that want these cards, and they 100 percent cannot have it.

I disagree. I want a first edition base set Charizard. Too bad - it’s a very valuable collectible and I currently can’t afford it. Evolving skies is already an old set - came out in 2021. The kids can get some current modern cards.

Super happy I got to finish the Eeveelution VMax Alt Art collection this past week at my local card show. Hit a good deal for the three promo cards and espeon for a bit over $200. Hoping for even more growth!
