I wish they made a contest Raichu. Pikachu is so overrated and you can't evolve or breed the only one you get in the game, goddamn ketchum syndrome.

The contest halls used to matter. If you're old enough to have played the original Ruby/Sapphire, you might remember that each hall was a different level of contest. There was a normal hall, a super hall, etc. It's only in ORAS that they allowed you to participate in any level in any hall.

I hate I have to go through all of this just to get lucario's mega stone

If you beat the contest on masters the pokemon you used for that contest will grow closer to you in battle and will actually allow that pokemon to do stuff that wouldn't normally happen, like doge moves more frequently, heal itself from status conditions and even endure at 1hp of health. So they are more worth it then you think, plus it is great to do the old style of contests again, except now how I always imagined it would have gone :D

I never used Cosplay Pikachu for actual contests. My team was Cool: MegaGallade Cute:/ MegaLoppunny Beautiful: ShinyMegaGardevoir Clever: MegaAltaria Tough: MegaSwampert

For Toughness contests you can just teach Wild Charge and Strength/Rock Smash and go with those. You'd be getting a lot more points in the Talent Round that way usually.

game freak needs to make compertitive contests :b , for those who don't like the battles and stuff...

I actually love the contests in this game, my only problem with them is that the main payoff for beating lidia is getting a lucarionite, a mega stone for a pokemon that you can't catch normally in the game

How to win this with ease>>> Master Beauty contest: Milotic (beauty scarf + maxed out beauty) Moves: Rain dance + hydropump Both of these moves score better the more excited the crowd is. Most contestants will use moves that lower your score through startling your pokemon. This will make you move later, giving the npc's a good chance to up the crowd excitement. I beat her first try using this method.

Literally just max out the stats and use moves of the matching category and you will not lose.

This is effective but it just takes the fun away from contests

I already thought the contests in the original game is already DAMN easy o_O takes no skill, just berries.....are they supposed to be harder this generation??

The contests in Oras are 10x easier than the ones in R/S/E at least for me, since i played so many of those when i was younger. The AI doesn't actively go after u like in previous games and rainbow pokeblock + make it so much easier to max out stats.

Does anyone now how fill the excitement gauge with more than one star in contest? I was in a master rank beauty contest and an azumarill got two stars in the excitement gauge and stole my chance to use the special move when the gauge is filled.

For anyone who reads this just max out your pokemon with pokeblocks. Takes a few berries but I completed all 5 contests with my shiny giratina and i only lost on the first one when I used none. Of course you gotta have 2-3 moves which are related to the contest but use tms and hms (can delete them with move deleter) and you'll be good to go

I got all Masters in Emerald and the contests in this game make me sad T.T

NO FUCKIN' WAY!!! I did everything you said in the Video, and I actually beat Lissia on my First Try!? OMG! I am Totally Speechless!!! o_O

Contests are ridiculously boring. They add NOTHING to the game, which is most probably why we havent seen them again for three generations. The only reason they exist in ORAS is because some nostalgia freaks would have made a landslide of complaints if they didnt. But what really bites is making it neccessary to beat them to get a mega-stone, I get the feeling they did this just so people wouldnt skip the contests entirely, as I really wanted to. Oh, and that Lisia is sooooo god damn annoying.

I used my Latios and won EVERY single contest on my first attempt. I even beat Lisia on my first attempt and I now have the Lucarionite. All of this is not a lie. I'm telling the truth.

I agree that's mostly easy, but damn, I tried to do masters with my sceptile (in game, had no trouble doing other ranks) and a freaking heracross was using like focus energy and focus punch (i think) and getting all the points while another pokémon was just jamming me...

wouw this guide is rly helping so far, i even had a max appeal in a turn of a cute contest, definitly picking those once im done whit clever and toughness contest. So far the shittiest contest was cool cuz, cute and cool don't go that good together, but yeah rest+sleep talk in the last turns gives soo much appeal

The best way to beat Lisia in a Contest is get a Ralts by Dex Nav with Destiny Bond evolve it into a Gardevoir give it a Gardevoirite and max out its Clever stat teach it these moves Destiny Bond, Stored Power, Calm Mind & Draining Kiss enter a Clever contest you beat her and get the Lucarionite.

U can find contest rotations if u look up 3rd gen pokemon of the week on seribii they still work

Step 1 - Catch a Claydoll in sky piller Step 2 - level up the Claydol until it has the moves "Cosmic Power", "Anceint Power" and "Explosion" Step 3 - Teach Claydol the move "Secret Power" via tm Step 4 - Max the Claydol's Contest stats with random pokeblocks Step 5 - Grab the contest scarfs and attach the appropriate one to the Claydol

You can trade Lucarionite from x and y to Oras u just need two 3ds I did it last night because I was doing that contest bullshit, but both my games are completed and I have the national dex

guys literally all you have to do is use cosplay pikachu, max her stats with pokeblocks, give her a certain scarf from the pokemon fan club, and you'll win no matter what.

Back in Emerald, I only ever did Beauty contests because I had to have a certain Pokemon with max Beauty anyway. My Milotic had Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Recover, and either Protect or Safeguard, and she won easily through the entire circuit. I wonder if she still exists on a save file somewhere...

The different contest halls are there because of RSE, where each contest hall had only one difficulty assigned to it.

3-4 hours to beat Lisia? o_O With cosplay Pikachu (beauty outfit), it only took one try. However, I tried once with my Latios and almost won. Cosplay Pikachu is like the insta-win contest Pokemon. ^^; I have noticed that contests are a lot less strenuous in ORAS. In the original R/S/E, Master rank was hard as hell, much less Hyper rank. The other Pokemon had tons of jamming moves and combos. If you ended up winning, it was usually by a hair, but it was very satisfying. In ORAS, the other pokes have jamming moves, but they're used sparingly and they don't "hurt" as much. Getting Master rank in all the categories was pretty easy. Too easy, in fact, so my main focus in a contest is taking a good picture. ^^ I REALLY wish they'd increase the amount of pics we can take to, at least, 3-5. That way, we'd have more to choose from once the contests are over. :/

I beat all the contests using only 1-4 heart moves, all not having anything to do with the contests typing, solely with max pokéblocked roselia. It took, like, 2 hours.

I've been searching but I couldn't find a method to teach or get eerie impulse for pikachu.

This little feature made the sixth generation for me.

What I did was evolve a Feebas (12 Beauty pokeblocks after level 23, then level up) and join the Beauty contest.

Cosplay pikachu I pretty good for fighting if you are the tough variant with flying press and starts with lighting rod

I have another tip if you have a Diancie I think this works pretty well this is due to my own experience but I got a Diancie so if you have a Diancie (i think I got her off of GTs but anyways) so if you have a Diancie max out her beauty and cuteness (this is optional) but she is a very good Pokemon for beauty in fact I've won five master rank beauty contests contests in a row with her so just use her and max out her beauty make sure you don't get rid of diamond storm and have moonblast. I also have flail and return both of which are cute moves but don't count against you. You you don't have to have get return but moves like flail are really good because they work better the later the term is used so you can do this is my strategy first I use moonblast which only give you one heart I usually use that because whenever she's the one I use it she's always in the first place so I use Moon glass so that I only get one heart and if someone startles me that actually helps then the next turn I'm in the last position then they use diamonds storm is this crowd has more a lot of stars but if it only has one more to go before it's there a maximum I do not suggest using this I suggest using flail. Using this strategy gives you a high chance of winning. If you don't have a Diancie then I would suggest a Milotic since in order to evolve Feebas into Milotic it must have maximum beauty. However Feebas is extremely hard to find as most of you probably know but I got a Feebas from GTS which I evolved into Milotic and I can breed it to get some Feebas eggs so if you need a Feebas you can trade with me. When you said Eerie Impulse, did you mean Electric Terrain? I don't think Pikachu can even learn Eerie Impulse. Also, it's Icicle Crash and not Icicle Spear.

pokemon nature adds to their condition. ie naive is cute-looking, impish is tough-looking, etc they're also better off participating in contests according to their EV. ie ATT= Cool... Speed=Cute etc

How do I find out which Pokemon likes a certain pokeblock?

I've cleared cute, cool and tough contest (master) but the portrait is not updated or rather, my cool and tough is always swapped. End up I only have 2 portraits instead of 3. What is happening?

Cute is seriously the easiest contest to beat, even against Lisia. Just had a pink scarf wearing skitty ride her Altaria's coat tails the entire time. Ali always goes first and uses Disarming Voice, which gets extra points if it goes first. So I just use Copycat to get the same amount of appeal and then some. Use your own Disarming Voice when you go first, and Swagger if Ali tries to pump himself up. Won it on my second try. Still need to find out how to beat her in the other contests though.

does the pokemon have to hold the mega stone in order to mega evolve upon 5 stars during the contest? if the pokemon holds the cool scarf and get 5 stars during a cool contest, will it still mega-evolve?

Question: Does Mega-evolution have any effects on the contests......are is it just for show??

Personally, I like running with this. (a pokemon goood for your area of speçiàlisation) then use these moves A move that works well when pumped a pumping up move a move that has a very high appeal (explode and self destruct and other high appeal moves with a downside) and some other move that may be useful. So, I like doing it this way. Pump up. again. again. (so u got max pump, keep in mind while doing this you WILL stay at the back. the loss of appeal doesn't matter) now on 4th use either the move affected by pump or ur op move (if it is one that startles you, use it now, because you are behind. If it is one that involves recoil on the next turn use it next turn.) BOOM DAS HOW U WIN

Regarding the Lilycove Museum, you need to beat the Master Rank in each category three times. Can I do them all with the same pokemon, or do I need to use a different one each time?

You forgot to get the scarfs ur pikachu has to be the form to get that scarf not just all in one ex: Tough Pikachu talk to guy he gives u yellow scarf at a time.

easily won all the contests. never used pikachu. coolness was the easiest. just used salamence and alternated between dragon dance and dragon claw.
