your'e not wrong about the rattata of water part however its nice when a pokemon is common in many gens so at least its easy to pick one up with good nature and IV's and or breed for it this is why I wish bibarrel was still around since the ability simple is great for stacking curses or swords dances surprisingly quickly its hilarious to get 2 swords dances in one turn though the other two abilities arent as good since there are pokemon that do unaware and moody strategies better but its the only fully evolved that gets simple even early game is hilarious stacking defense curl at double the speed

My guess is he did the calcs and it brings Lucario into the red and Cynthia would use a full restore.

@@prideguy3233 I calced it, and it doesn't bring it into the red. However, if it did, that would actually be the correct strategy to use, as it gives 2 chances at a crit instead of just 1 because you get to attack on the full restore turn.

Same. This is how I treat my own custom rule with overlapping typings; if a pokemon gains or loses a type upon evolution, the evolution is what matters regardless of what type the pokemon is now.

I see where your argument is but I think they should only be allowed once they are containing that type ngl otherwise it's not a true montotype run

@@bruce4139 that doesn’t really apply to every mon though like if I’m doing a gen 2 dark I can’t have an umbreon, would suck because its the best dark gen 2 As long as once it can evolves you do so, it should be good. Things like a steel nuzlocke keeping scyther or onix without evolving so you get more type variety for example wouldn’t be something I’d personally accept

Flamethrower wouldn't quite have killed. It would have done more damage as it has the same 95 base power as Surf, but 2x damage because of Super Effective instead of 1.5x STAB. Maybe it would be just about enough if the Surf was a low roll, and he got a high roll Flamethrower + Burn, but I think it's very unlikely.

@@frax93 Super effective ice fang does 130 damage. Stab waterfall does 120. Granted ice fang has a chance to miss however it also has a chance to freeze and flinch. I think ice fang was the correct play.
