I thought it was confirmed in Pokémon lore that Darkrai was actually not as malicious of a Dark-type as, say, Yveltal or Hoopa Unbound.

Mystery Dungeon's Darkrai is definitely evil and manipulative Tobias' Darkrai is a mystery, The movie's Darkrai is clever, calculated, good-natured (to the point of only striking harder if someone is a greater/ stubborn interference and problem), observant (like with others' intentions), and more knowledgable on humans and their language. Journey's Darkrai is often misunderstood, emotionally volatile at times, yet caring to those that have their trust. To each their own.

Well, if we get a Mystery Dungeon Time/ Darkness/ Sky remake, they could use this for a battle theme. Have it start out as the battle with Dusknoir's theme before it slowly changes into a slower version of this. I highly doubt it would happen, though.

TheSilver Phantom I was absolutely TICKED with that episode. I was literally just sitting there thinking, "o man Darkai is gonna have great role in this!" And I was seriously disappointed. They used the best legendary ever.... for plot conveniance.... I was not happy.

Yeah despite what the fanboys might say XY(Z) is far from perfect.

@@sirlukachu Yes! I hope they keep the events for the mythical Pokémon in the remakes ^w^ When you encounter Darkrai, you hear the loud bell... then it transforms into the theme that plays when you first see him in the movie! The music in this video is an extension of that (:

Technically, it's "kurai" but the pun still works as the Japanese pronunciation is "Daakurai"

If the story was lackful then I dont think the music itself would save this movie. I think both story and music is what makes this movie stand out from future titles.
