Scarlet and Violet needs a way of preventing cheaters. But knowing that it’s the toxic community, it will never happen

Also the only way to max pp is obtaining them at the hammerlocke pokemon center, and I’m not defending cheaters at all, all I’m saying is if getting BP is easy every month playing ranked, why aren’t players utilizing that instead? I know hackers are lazy, but c mon it’s right there lol

It takes no skill to have good diet and coaching but that matters more than in game performance for sports and esports. Cheating is wrong. Its against the rules, and objectively gives advantage

The issue that these people are pointing to isn't the player's skill, it's the fact that VGC states in its ruleset that using any 3rd party programs to modify pokemon (which includes generating pokemon out of thin air) is illegal.

@@Verlisify well is not like i agree with using bots/ cheated mons.. but still i think that it's quite harsh to be so strict about it after all where i live (Italy) the competitive community is around 24/30 years old and everybody works all day long i think that's not an option to completely block a whole 85% of a competitive community. Damn even myself I'm disgusted to use botted mons in competitive. Let's see also what happens with the new generation if they'll make it even easier to do competitive mons I won't have any way to argue anymore

To me the solution right now is not to blame ""cheaters" but to give them the possibility to not cheat anymore that's why this season i did competitive Pokémon as a team of 5 member (one was the player one was the architect of the mechanics of the team one was the breeder one was the legendary hunter and the last one was the match analyst) so at this point we should stop to treat Pokémon as a single player rpg and start to think about the possibility to play it as a team like any MMORPG

@@NateJMusic He's harsh because it's been an issue for years, probably decades, and nothing is done about it. False positivity is an incredibly toxic behavior. If someone is cheating, you shouldn't praise them no matter how good they are. Wolfey and the others have absolutely no excuse. If they don't want to put effort into the games, they should stick to Showdown tournaments. Instead they're aiming for official competitions, where they know they can earn *money.* See the problem? They're cheating and being rewarded for it.

No. No other game supports and defends cheating. Yu Gi Oh players are outed and punished regularly by Konami and The Community

By cheating to disadvantage the competition they prove they can't win without cheating which means no skill

To be competitive in any sport or esport its mandatory to put in hundreds or thousands of hours of work. Pokemon isn't any different

They're "cheating" by getting Pokemon that are completely legal in competition without breeding them. The only advantage people can come up with is practice time but you can play vgc doubles on showdown anyway which all of these players do for hours when team building. In essence, there is no advantage being gained. But sure, enforce the tedium on everyone who just wants to play competitively and doesn't want to grind out pokemon all day before even being able to test teams.

@@tommydashed4205 Wait, you're telling me there's no disadvantage between literal stat differences which could even decide which pokemon moves first if one person has imperfect IVs for speed? If a stat is harder to obtain and others are able to obtain those stats, would it not be an unfair advantage and against the rules according to section 4.3? Then even aside from a single stat being hard to obtain, getting specific values for all the stats on a pokemon seems rather unlikely. Sure, you need to be good at battling, but that doesn't mean there aren't any advantages when one person would need to put effort into making a team aside from testing it, when the other person can just gen several counters to any team in a few minutes? Sounds to me like there is an advantage there. You won't be walking in to attend a VGC tournament with the wild bird you caught at the start of the game, I wonder why that is. Even then, what right do those who literally agreed to a rule in order to compete (ie what section 4.3 describes) have to break the very rules they willingly agreed to follow in a competition? I've seen people trying to equate rule breaking violations with things that are clearly not against the rules such as buying cards in TCG. Rules are rules, there isn't any way to get around that.

This youtuber lives off of ranting about other people. He has no substantial claims and besides that, newer gens are so easy and quick to get proper mons in... I started two weeks ago with legends arceus, got BDSP and already bred 5 perfect iv pokemon with the correct nature... It's incredibly easy to have legitimate pokemon nowadays. I believe sword and shield is even easier.

If the official rules say that it's illegal, then you can justify it any way you want, it will stay cheating. A title earned by cheating is worth nothing because the person violated the official rules and just didn't get caught.

I did the exactly same thing some months ago, pokemon home is realy useful for this since you can just check the trainers ID on settings, so i just deleted all the sus pokemons, now my pokemon home is 100% clean 👌

"Let people play how they want" ITS AGAINST THE RULES I guess we should have never punished athletes for using steroids or forbidden substances. They are just playing how they want, doesn't matter it disadvantages others as long as the cheater's desires are respected.

@@theinsurancestreams7933 No there are banned substances that give no physical advantage. Blood doping only speeds up recovery and is banned other substances that aid training are banned. Saying "only battle matters" is an idiots argument since having a dietician, trainer, and coach is more important that your capability to perform in sports

@@Verlisify exactly! The only time I can almost see hacking as justified at this point is like. If a pokemon has a good move locked behind an event (like victini) but even then u shouldn't bring that to a world championship

you have to spend less time and require less experience to create strong pokemon, normal trainers take hours to build one pokemon while cheaters can create one pokemon with a few clicks

@@josiahdelio5333 It's just 30 mins of gameplay at best to get mon into competitive shape assuming you have stockpiled on resources within these years since SwSh release. It's really not that slow to get something done with gen 8's QoL changes.

@@Freebird1994 there is enough time before tournaments to do that and most Experienced players have been playing for long enough that they have enough resources and Pokémon from previous generations. Hacking to avoid grind is just a lazy excuse at this point.

They are too unskilled at a children's game to win legitimately

I made a Rain team, all shiny, correct nature's and abilities. That's not the sketchy part. The sketch part is when the entire shiny team didn't need any hyper training. I think MAYBE one Pokémon on that team didn't need a bottle cap.

Yeah, it's in section 4.3 of the Play! Pokemon VG Rules and Formats document. I quote: "The use of external devices, such as a mobile app, to modify or create items or Pokémon in a player’s Battle Team is expressly forbidden. Players found to have Pokémon or items that have been tampered with may receive a Disqualification, regardless of whether the Pokémon or items belong to that player or were traded for." Anything anybody else tells you is simply a lie. It's right there in the rules, which you can find on their very own official website. Doesn't matter if they received the pokemon or did it themselves, it's still against the rules. In other words, even champions who claim they are clean because somebody else genned a pokemon they used 'unknowingly' (what a convenient excuse though, reminds me of Clara) are still in the wrong.

The gist of it is corruption, TPCi has hired people who turned out to be cheaters in the past and they then can conduct change. There's also the disconnect between the japanese and american companies. They have banned several people in the past, but to my knowledge (rather limited though) these were only no-name players. Suddenly banning people for this is likely to shake the current illegitimate scene to the core. Admitting to the wrongs could also damage the nonexistent integrity of the current international tournament holders. This part is just speculation though.

I've played many games that literally update their anti cheating systems all the time when it comes to people cheating and bans people right away.

The current games do have some form of hack check, but I do think its next to useless. Anything within the realm of possibility can usually get past. We'll just have to hope they make changes towards legitimacy.

@@Verlisify yeah,,, I get that, like I said it's put me off playing completely.. But it's as creative as me making cards with my step son to play tcg, as long as they are the same as real ones. I don't trust that they are the same as real ones though.. why go to the effort of hacking and potentially getting caught if they are? Surely if they are easy to come by just get them yourself, or even if there not so easy just create a market to buy them or something fo people who graft and get them? Like legit breaders or something lol. Sounds to me like pokemon need to up their game to stop them also . My doubt though is that these pokemon aren't the same as real ones,, otherwise why bother. And why haven't pokemon banned them if we all know? Also maybe just better pokemon make it easier to get real ones so it's not as appealing to cheat. Like I recently tried to catch feebass on bdsp. Spent hours and didn't get it. I found a program online that can tell you what squares it will show up in using the lotto ticket numbers you get in part of the game. If there are corners to cut people will be always out there to do it unless the penalty isn't worth their risk of getting caught.. not everyone is the same like that I know. But in general you don't leave your front door open as someone will steal something.. I think every human can be suspectable to cheat, steal, cut corners if the culture allows.

Thats completely wrong though, there's far less people competing in VGC because of the cheating. Less people want to compete when they know they will face almost exclusively rulebreakers. Only 163 people entered the 2022 salt lake city regional. Meanwhile regionals in 2017 were in the 400s, but it has only declined since then.

I guess its making the Pokemon Company more money to ignore cheating to have dead events since its less prize money and less costs to run it

technically you dont have to buy the game again just make an alt profile on your switch and then use pokemon home to move it over because more profiles = more saves

Maybe 2 days saved if the team has alot of legendaries. Once you get to the actual battle it doesn't matter. That's how there better than you. Cause they can go to a tournament and actually win a game as opposed to going 0 wins 4 losses and claiming that your undefeated

Disadvantaging others in a dishonest way is wrong and you are objectively a loser for denying that fact. Having a good coach and dietician improves your on field sports performance, so outside factors matter. Wow. MORE idiocy. I never went 0-4 then claimed I went undefeated. I have been to more than 1 regional.
