Im only half way through this video so far, I want to say this is really good.. I've added it to a playlist, and I think i'm going to watch this once a day for a week or two, to get all this information SOLID in to my head. I've exploited my mistakes by watching this. I'd love to be coached by you, thanks.

Sometimes ingesting straight glucose can be useful for thinking processes (it is after all, the main fuel for the brain) and low glucose can impact your judgement just as much as a glucose crash. Amarillo Slim once related that he would take in raw honey during ultra-long marathon sessions in Vegas. Raw honey is far and away different to downing every soda you can to keep awake, however, so keep that in mind.

Good stuff in this video, I've said the exact same thing about being there to entertain the players. I've talked to ppl that actually keep records and know they're consistant losers, they tell me they keep coming back because they have fun( sadly there are a few that are just plain addicts ), so that's the exchange I feel I have to make as a professional, I do what I can to make sure ppl are having a good time while still trying to maximize my win-rate. It's not hard for me, that's my personality anyways. One tip I have for when you're losing is to top up to the table maximum quietly between hands with extra chips bought in advance from the cage and not fire bills at the dealer, and always act like it's not bothering you even if you're dying inside. People will play more aggressively against you if you look wounded.

This is a serious subject and does not get enough play. Online players have no idea. I can pick them out at any table. I am a very outgoing and friendly guy but when I sit down to a game, especially a live MTT, I am Spock. Dr. Spock at that. The only time to display any emotion is an all-in showdown, then I light up like a Christmas tree - scares the shit out of people! All other times, I act after a four count, no matter what, even a shove. My cards, hands, back and face are always in the same condition or position. Voice is metered; eagle eyeing everyone. Watching the game....controlling it.

You can't just pull a number to 'explain luck' like 1.5% out of the air without explaining how that number is calculated. I assume that it is the average standard deviation from the 'expected' probablility of getting drawn out on over millions of hands but I have never seen this number anywhere but here...

About bankroll: Are you referring to professional players who don't have a "real" job? If so, I agree. However, if you are talking non-pro players, I could not disagree more. Non-pro players, that is people who already have a good source of income away from poker, simply need 1 buy in to play. Their job is their bankroll. I am not suggesting that you use your rent money to play poker, that's stupid. You just need to save up a buy-in amount with expendable cash and use it to fund your poker games. I also suggest that people quit playing for the day if they lose 2 buy-ins...

Where did you get the 1.5% luck value from? You obviously don't put in enough volume to understand variance, especially in mtts. I recommend you play around with a variance calculator to get to grips with this

I take that back. You try to talk about saturated fats being bad for your brain. They are 100% necessary for your brain. Typical pop culture nutrition. Disgusting. Most of your brain is composed of saturated fats. They are necessary to replenish it and make it function properly. Please do some real research before giving advice that can harm peoples well being. I was joking before, but this is serious. You should be ashamed for being part of the echo chamber that is pop culture "science".

Never look at your cards last when it's your turn to act! Bad poker etiquette.

Okay, already this guy is a fool. "Over a lifetime, luck only affects 1.5 percent of a poker player's career" -- uh, yeah -- right.
@marct7905

He's talking about cash games not the WSOP! Do you think Hellmuth has over a dozen bracelets because of luck?
@johnsmith-bx3qd
@johnsmith-bx3qd 7 лет назад
Marc T I would like to see the statistics of how many events he's played in a lifetime. 300? 500? Yeah, I think a good player SHOULD win a certain percentage of tournaments. He's had a good run in a certain percentage of tournaments. If he's played like 3000 tournaments in his lifetime would you expect him to win .5% of the time? Is that luck or skill?
@marct7905
@marct7905 7 лет назад
He has made 54 final tables. Once you make the final table people play more aggressive with a lot more all ins in which there is a lot of luck. If it were all skill he would win every time! lol
@marct7905
@marct7905 7 лет назад
How is that not correct?
@johns783
@johns783 6 лет назад
it's not all skill, everybody knows that. but it takes a strong foundation of skill to reach final tables or cashing more often than the odds say you should.
