You've watched too many Hollywood movies. Dogfighting is a very rare thing. Even if two aircrafts are hunting each other they do it from miles away. They shoot, retreat, shoot, retreat etc. Americans discontinued producing F22 years ago.

@@_the_dare_devil_ You are partly right. Dogfights are rare nowadays, but not completely gone, as the conflict in Ukraine has shown us. I guess "dogfight" is not the correct word if you want to be picky. I mean combat with the goal to destroy enemy fighter planes. That is what the F15 and F22 have been built for especially. The F35 can do that too, but it is more of a general role fighter. For instance, the F22 is more manuverable and has a higher flight ceiling. For killing enemy planes, I would dare say, even the F15 is superior in terms of cost / effect.

​@@johnbigelson7471 It was best at it's time, I agree. Still, I would not underestimate F35. Fights start miles away, before F22 got to F35 close enough to make use of it's maneuverability, there would be dozens of missiles flying around. I agree that if F22 got close to F35, then the F35 pilot would be shitting his pants, but I believe that the F22 pilot would be sweating once he found out an F35 on his radar miles away.

@@_the_dare_devil_ No, not at its time, period. I don't understand why there's this need to diminish it as some relic. It STILL has smaller rcs, higher TWR, any metric you can think of in air-to-air side from avionics suite which could be modernized. I don't underestimate the F35, don't mistake me for one of those debbie downers, it's the world's premiere all-purpose combat aircraft, and its sales in NATO reflect that. However, I still bristle at those who would dismissive the F22 as some relic....if the software suite is the only thing separating it, I guess that's a valid point, but could be easily modified.

@@aruraru6644 A jak Pan otworzy link do całego artykułu, to dla "sojusznika" z tegoż "zarozumiałego" kanału, mam wypowiedź doświadczonego lotnika, który wie jak się zachować i powiedzieć aby "sojusznik" nie poczuł się "zawiedziony" : "Czy doświadczonemu pilotowi F-16 łatwo przyszło pilotowanie F-35? Może to panią zaskoczy, ale nie było to trudne. Oczywiście, człowiek jest na początku trochę przytłoczony nowymi rzeczami, ale symbolika stosowana w obu maszynach, sposób działania systemu HOTAS jest taki sam. Pilotowanie tej maszyny wymaga wprawy, ale nie jest to karkołomne zadanie. Zdobyte w USA doświadczenia utwierdzają mnie w przekonaniu, że proces szkolenia na F-35 będzie krótszy niż ten na F-16 sprzed kilkunastu lat." fragment.
