Thank you for your excellent videos. I am only on my second ship and neither is one that you have featured but I have learnt so much from your videos. I like that they aren’t just a build log but cover so many techniques - cannon rigging in this one, ship weathering, sails weathering etc that can be used on any model. I also love the creativity that you bring to your builds - it encourages me to try something different or add more details.
Thank you so much. I very much appreciate your comment. I'm really happy that my videos are useful for you and that you get some new ideas for your next projects. All the best, Roma
What I do on my planks is putting an angle at the end of each plank . so you can shift them under each other. and I put only 1 nail to hold the planks together. joint between 2 planks are practically not visible. it is an extra step and yes it is time consuming, but like you say don't rush. I do this on first planking it gives a much better result and it minimize the use of putty and sanding
Very interesting)) I will try this in season 2. Also I just follow the instructions , normally I do it little bit diferente)) Hope you will see it next time 😉 and thanks for comments)) appreciated))
I agree homeharbor, I enjoy lisitening to you carefully. I am new to the ship hobby but I have a lot of model airplane building under my belt. They are similar but as you indicate a few tricks are specifically aimed towards shipbuilding.
Hey, im just starting this part and i think im after making a massive mistake. I think i put the wrong size pieces on the decking. I used the thicker ones... any idea what i should do?
You must use 0.6mm wood strips. If you used 2mm you need to take them off careful, then clean the deck and start again with 0.6mm. it's not a big problem. You will handle it. If you worried about the 2mm wood, Occre provide enough wood in kit so don't worry😉
