I Love Harbor Freight Tools. I have an angle grinder I bought 20 years ago and it still works. I only use it a few times a year and I had to mod the power switch a little bit but it still works. It cost me $7. It is corded. I am fine with that. It has cut many times. I am sure they are even better today. I just haven't needed to replace it.

I have a 2017 polaris AXYS Assault 800. It’s the 144 with the 2 inch lug. And it’s the best sled I’ve ever ridin. It’s perfect on trails and it’s does good off trail as well. It’s can handle about 2 to 2 and half feet of snow. And that’s perfect cause that’s all we get where I live. I have no complaints about the sled.
@AustinMBecker
@AustinMBecker 5 лет назад
Depends on the trail conditions. I'm hesitant to get an older sled with a 144 and a 1.75-2 inch lug because of the low snow at times. This year it's been really good snow in MN, but that might not be the case next year.....

Great review video Louie! Love your videos man, very well done, well in depth, and well executed. Please keep the content coming! Question: I bought a 2016 Polaris Pro RMK 155" back in December, I am new to mountain riding (been a trail rider my whole life) and everything that comes with it; learning veryyyyyyyyy quickly though (steep learning curve lol.) My question is: are there any parts that are prone to failure on the 2016 rmk's? I noticed in this video you take about you upgrading your heads and thermostat to the 2018' type. Are there any other parts/mods that you recommend? Do you happen to have any part numbers or information for the '16 to '18 thermostat upgrade? Any and all information will help Louie! Thanks man, be safe out there and more importantly have FUN!

@zstraps 5 лет назад
Why go for 3 inch... 3 inch is meant for Western Canada where they have over 10 feet of powder. You will only dig further and lose track speed with a 3 inch. Also, you don't need a 163 where you usually ride. If you want to change the track, you should install a 163 on a 155 chassis just like Burandt.
@gablap3806
@gablap3806 5 лет назад
well, we already have 14 feets of snow here in Eastern canada and the season is not over yet soo... 3 inch is not useless i think!?
@zstraps
@zstraps 5 лет назад
@@gablap3806 The more lug you have the more you dig. The 2.6 will lift while the 3" will dig. 163 and 2.6 is the right combo. 155 and 3" is a bad idea.

I finally got my dream sled a 2014 pro RMK 800 155 this year, but I'm having some issues of her running real hot. Gets real hot after only like 5 minutes if that on the trails. I live right on the trails so I usually ride em to the pow and it's pretty rough to get there. I've got ice scratchers but one of the cords came off on one side so I had to go out and grab some of the spring ones... but haven't put em on yet... Would adding some vents in the side panels help keep it running cooler? Or do they just run real hot unless you're in a foot of pow?
@darrenvankoughnett6509
@darrenvankoughnett6509 5 лет назад
Got the same sled, how hot are you running
@Richard_Frost
@Richard_Frost 5 лет назад
@@darrenvankoughnett6509 Hottest it has gotten is around 200 degrees f but usually was at around 150-170. It only ever hit 200 when I was on a long stretch of very hard pact trail and I wasn't paying attention. I immediately shut it down and let it cool down completely upon noticing it. The lowest it would be at while actually running/driving was mid 140's (Not including off trail/powder, when I hit my usual powder pound-able area It would typically run at around 122 to 138(Max) degrees f in the pow.) It has the stock 2.25 inch paddle track on it, so I'm debating trying out the shorter lugged, built in studded, track to see if it may help. I should add, I'm the 3rd owner, and I bought it off of an older gentleman probably a bit older than Louie. It's got about 3800 miles and has never been rebuilt, though it has been regularly maintained, and looked after. Believe it or not the same older gentleman I bought it off of had a 2014 indy 800 with 7000+ miles, and then engine had never been apart once!! (I'm well aware this is an out laying special case) Psi in both cylinders matched what they should, and Pistons looked to be in good shape while cleaning the carbs.(Didn't need to be done as they weren't really dirty at all, but I like to do it to every sled I get out of habit, whether it be an older 90's sled or a mid 2000's. It's a simple thing to do that can really help with letting you know if there is anything wrong.) Anyway, I plan on getting the top end done with an rk tek drop in kit over this coming summer, but I just question if it's a good idea with how hot it runs as it is.
@darrenvankoughnett6509
@darrenvankoughnett6509 5 лет назад
Well 140-122 on hard pack trail is normal and it will vary some in the powder but I would make sure that your coolant bottle is full
