Nice! Thanks for the feedback. It should be pretty simple for anyone that wants to do it! It makes it super playful!

2022+ Pro RMK 165” already have an anti stab kit from factory. Also 2022+ Pro RMK 165” lots of fts are already 12” long c-c. Which is the same as the Khaos… so all you need is a limiter strap from a Khaos if you have a 165 with a fts measuring 12”
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
Yes 155 and 165 with the 3.5 pitch tracks (not sure on the 3.0 pitch but my guess would be no) do have a factory anti stab kit. I don't know on the pro shock length myself and can't verify but that would be interesting. I did the footage for this video prior to the release of the matryx platform so it may not be completely up to date with the current. Appreciate the info though!

Great video! Could you do this conversion without lengthening the front track shock? And just do a khaos limiterstrap and a antistabb kit?
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 9 месяцев назад
Thanks! Without lengthening the shock you risk overextending it and shock damage. You won't get the full benefit without doing it.

Hey, when you do this conversion, do you drill a new hole for the front shock mount along with the tunnel above the footsteps, where the polaris assault has their shocks mounted or do you use the existing hole. Thankful for an answer!
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 2 года назад
I'm using the upper hole of the two spots on my tunnel for the front track shock. That's the hole that the khaos uses and that's what I was after was for it to act as close to the khaos as possible.

Ice Age is out of stock on their conversion kit, and do not reply to my messages.. I already have the longer limiter strap and longer eyelet on my front shock. All I should need it the Khaos rails correct? I have a (not yet installed) Anti stab kit. I do not need different shocks since I have the longer eyelet on my front shock. since ICe age is non responsive who do I buy them from.
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 2 года назад
If you have the longer limiter strap, longer shock, and an anti stab kit I would just install all of those on your Pro rails and you will be set to go. That's what I did in this video. I did not buy separate rails.

Great vid! I have a '17 pro and greatly increased the fun factor by lengthening the strap, stiffening the front track shock and softening the rear. Been pretty happy with it but now realize I should add an antistab kit. My question is in the suspension. The one problem I have is that I bottom out the rear suspension on even small jumps due to the rear being softened. Did you soften your rear spring? Wondering if lengthening the front track shock will allow me to stiffen the rear up and still keep my playful ski lift. Thanks
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 2 года назад
I softened the rear a little but not much. You definitely would benefit from a longer track shock but be sure to do the anti stab before as well. It will drop the front down further to begin with and give you more ski lift without compromising your preload on your shocks. I think you'll be very happy with it once you do it.

I followed the video and put in the exact same parts minus the fox shock, now it sure seems that even with the ice age anti stab kit the rails are extremely close to hooking the windows in the track was yours the same?
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
If you trimmed down the tips of the rails correctly there isn't any way at all for the rails to spear the track. The anti stab kit will hold the track away and force the track to roll around the ends of the rails with pretty much 0% chance of catching.

Did you end up drilling the lower hole in the front of the tunnel for the front skid mount?
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 7 месяцев назад
No the khaos doesn't come with that hole drilled so I left it in the original position.

How about the velocity shocks that come with the khaos would those work?
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
Yes you can out those on and do the other things in the video. My intention with the video was to show you could convert for cheap. The velocity shocks aren't typically cheap which is why I didn't include them.

Do i need to bolt the skid on the lower hole on the tunnel??
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
No I left mine in the upper hole which is the hole that the khaos comes in stock.

I installed the anti-stab kit and it started to chew the edge of the track windows. I cut quite a bit of it so zero chance of catching. Saw that the hi fax was catching so i trimmed the outer to a smoother edge. Did you see any wear on the edge of the track windows
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 8 месяцев назад
No I did not see any wear. There should be almost no chance of it wearing as it should "roll" right around the tips as long as it doesn't have any material sticking past the wheels. I would double check that and then double check the rear of your rails to make sure the aren't too close to your track back there.

Have a q for the front shocks? What type of fox should i get to work with this kit?
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
If you are going to buy new fox shocks then I would just get some khaos ones. Otherwise any will do as long as they're coil overs. From what I've heard the air shocks can't be lengthened nearly as easy or cost effective. I really like the qs3 coil overs with the lockout on this setup.

Does anyone know if you can run a 2.6 x 146 -2.86 pitch track on a 144 assault by changing the drivers
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
I can't say for sure but you should be able to check but checking the clearinance in the top of your tunnel and in the front of the tunnel. For example, If you have a 2 inch track already and have 1.5 inches of clearance then you'd be good. Your track will have some flex to it as it turns so you want to take that into consideration when measuring because you will need extra space above it. Also a 2.86 track usually has 7 tooth drivers. I would see how many tooth drivers you have right now and make sure 7 tooth would fit but I believe you may have 8 tooth? You can use different driver tooth numbers but then you'll have to play with gearing more.

Can i use the khaos shocks on my 16 rmk
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 2 года назад
Yes you can but without putting a longer limiter strap you won't get the khaos benefit. If you lengthen the strap then I highly recommend the anti stab kit as it drops your rail tips down and increases the chance of sticking one of your rails through your track windows.

Just wondering (like the first comment mentioned) what if a guy just drilled out the lower mounting hole and use it (effectively lowering the skid) probably want to add a anti stab kit how that would effect the ski lift/ playfulness? Especially if you are running a Elevate or skinz free flow front end with taller spindles? Thanks

Very useful video Lifestyle. But I have a related question. I have a Pro Matrix and it uses the upper hole. It seems to me that using the lower hole would raise the front end 1 inch the same as lengthening the FTS travel. This would make the sled easier to get and hold an edge since it can roll over much easier with less weight on the skis. But it doesn't seem like it would make it wheelie more because the angle of the torque arm provides the lift and that would not change. My understanding is that the power of the engine is transmitted from the rear wheels through the skid and up the torque arm to the chassis, but that angle doesn't change unless you do the normal conversion. I guess the hole is for other models in the family but perhaps I could get better handling without the wheelies by using the lower bolt. Seems like something for nothing, which is almost never true. What's your take?

@@michaelhansen7516 I have to apologize as I never saw this message nor was I notified you commented. I am not overly familiar with the lower mounting hole to be honest. I know that it's considered the "assault" hole as the assaults were mounted in that hole with similar rail profile to the khaos but there was a lot of different opinions as to the handling of the machine. I know there were a lot of complaints about the trenching in that position but essentially that's what the lhaos does as well. It'd be interesting to try a pro in that hole vs a khaos to compare. I'm sure there would be a lot of similarities but I'd be more interested in the negatives as well.
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587

I have to apologize to you as well since I didn't see this comment. I haven't played around eith that hole too much or almost not at all so I can't speak from any experience. The lower hole was the "assault" hole and helped with better response for the racers and keeping the front end up more for flying through the moguls from what I heard. From what I understand it also help increase responsiveness from rider input and less of a planted feel. Before it was known as a trenching machine and I beleive that's why a lot of people went away from it for the backcountry. Times have changed now since then so maybe that's why polaris created the khaos-to create another trenching machine as a playful backcountry machine instead of a climber since we've move that way as a mountain segment as a whole??? It'd be interesting to see the differences between the assault setup and a khaos first hand.

@@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 getting near that time again. The dealer thinks it might work. I'll report back if I try it out. I can always put it back so it seems worth a try. I'm expecting to lose the way the pro tracks a sidehill but gain the edge on crust and keep the way the pro jumps on top of the snow. Beats me. My khaos 165, I don't really care for the trenching, but then I'm not yet good enough to take advantage of it.
@colebz420

the Kaos skid angle is different though
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
If you watch the video it shows the difference between the pro and khaos skid angles. Hence the reason for the anti stab kit. It's close enough where the anti stab kit goes that although it may not be perfect khaos it will put you pretty darn close and that last tiny bit you will not notice.

Do you think you could run an elevate kit with this or do you need to swap the rails.
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 2 года назад
This setup is creating essentially the same geometry as the khaos. All the difference in the khaos rails is that the end of the rail is tipped up so they dont stab through the track window since they dropped the front of the suspension. Elevate spindles would be fine with this. I am running the skinz freeflow front end which also raises the front like the elevate spindles and have had zero issues with great handling.

Another question, When you lengthen the front shock do you swap the piston rod for a longer one? Do you get the khaos springs on the shock or do you re-use the original one on the non-velocity(walker evans on the pro rmk) shocks?
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 2 года назад
I didn't do the actual lengthening of my shock so I'm not entirely sure what was done other than that it works! Lol. Andy Youngstrom at Gas Shock Repair in Idaho could probably give you a better idea than me even trying. We have re-used the springs that each of the shocks we've done came with stock.
