Looks like the way to go. I’ve heard of a few driver issues on new Polaris sleds. Thinking about doing this to my 21 165 rmk. I guess the series 8 tracks like to be run real tight or they will ratchet easy. Looking forward to seeing what you think of these drivers. Great explanation on install.
Yeah I've heard the same thing as well on the series 8 slipping unless extra tight. This setup is still the series 6 track but I'm sure these drivers would for sure help the series 8 where there is so much contact with the track and and through the windows. Thanks for the feedback!
It's kind of tough to explain to be honest. I don't do it with a fish scale or anything. I do it by finger tension. I was actually going to do a video on how to adjust in the near future.
Yes this style of driver requires you to shorten the tips of your rails. Watch my video of the khaos conversion to see how I did that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R0-7wldH4pk.html
No I didn't. I felt that would've made it too long. On this sled it's fairly easy and straightforward. Just loosen the track and unbolt the 4 main suspension bolts and remove the suspension. Remove the belt drive on the right hand side and 6 bolts on the other side. Slide the drivers to the left side of the machine and the right side with come out.
That's definitely something you could probably do if you wanted. I would just rather have my driver's run off the clipped windows instead. Plus the avid drivers ride off 4 pretty good points of contact that its almost impossible for tge track to slip making that center driver pointless in leaving on.
