Thank you for sharing this video. We just bought our first Slingshot on May 25th (our 50th wedding anniversary) after owning many motorcycles through the years. We have rode about 350,000 miles on motorcycles but my wife has battled cancer eight times. But after the cancer, the treatments, and 12 surgeries she is now crippled and can no longer get on a motorcycle. With the Slingshot she falls into the seat and I pull her back out. Our Slingshot will help us to continue to enjoiy life even with health issues in our senor years. Ours does have a stumble just off idle and it sounds like it might be a low voltage problem. My biggest concern is a lot of loud whining noise from the transmssion and a clucking or clanging noise from the angel gear box. I fear the Slingshot dealer did not do a good dealer prep in our Slingshot and the oil levels may be extremely low in both the transmssion and engle gear box causes these noises. I also noticed the final drive belt is running hard to one side. I also fear their mechanics oare not rained at all. They looked like two young boys just out of high school, so I qill be performing all maintenance and any repairs. Am I over reacting about these noises I hear from the transmmsion and angle gear box or are these noises just the nature of the beast?

I bought a Slingshot R 2023 in March but figures crossed nothing yet has come up!! But I do agree it's a Small battery!! Thanks for your help and review!!
I Have a 2023 R, it is 3 years old and have done all maintenance went it needed to be done. It is also a manual. So far no problems. It has 13k miles so far.
Entertaining video. 😅 Yes, the quality of dealers is very poor - Polaris can only do so much (they do not run the dealerships - only enforce brand standards). The factory battery is actually pretty good. People need to check battery cable bolts regularly and keep the battery on a maintainer if Slingshot is going to sit for more than 3 weeks at a time (pretty standard in vehicles like this and with such a small battery - this is nothing new). Our owners have a 99% success rate with the factory battery lasting at least 3-4 years - again it comes down to the dealership knowing how to prep the battery and educate the customer on maintenance. People need to stop trying to add ANYTHING to the stock electrical (if you add LED's, stereo, etc you need to run a whole complete wiring system that is separate from the factory stuff - safety and reliability). Break in is 500 miles - after that have at it! I've owned several Slings since 2015 and this is the same for all of them. My current 2023 runs awesome with only about 400 miles of somewhat easy driving (now about 4000 on the gauge and runs perfect). Regular oil changes and basic maintenance (check overs) goes a long ways to not having issues. "Fantom" problems only exist because the dealer cannot properly diagnose the issue - this goes back to the lack of quality of dealerships. There hasn't been an issue that has come up yet (since 2015) that our dealership has not been able to fix (usually it's something really simple and quick to fix). We rarely need to contact Polaris about anything unless they ask for pictures for warranty purpose.
Funny, interesting thing I test drove a newer model from the dealership and noticed during my pre inspection, (nobody does) the battery connection was barely connected, but it started. Imagine driving with electric steering and the steering stops working. Short out a new computer module or computer because a surge. One person in the shop forgot to tigten the battery connection. A crash waiting to happen. Anyway, the batteries from the factory are junk. Yes, new slingshots. New cars, anything new. You're dealership knows nothing but selling and getting it off the lot to pay the loan. You're best advocate for owning one is YOU! Learn everything about the machines first. A dealerships is only as good as the product it sells. Dont trust a pushey dealer. Quiz him. As far as the service dept, they are there to service. If you display a key ready out the door display for test driving customers and the battery connection is finger loose. You are saying I TRUST YOUR PRODUCT, its safe. If you know more than him, tell the sales mgr. Go somewhere else. Walk away.
I have a 2020 R with over 20k miles, still has the original battery, still has the original brake fluid and clutch fluid never touched. Never had a problem. The only issue I've ever had was the seatbelt retractor catching where I couldn't pull it out. I had it replaced under warranty and it started doing the same thing again after about a year. I was pissed and ranted about it on a FB group. I learned from others that it just gets dirty and starts doing that sometimes. All you gotta do is spray a little wd40 on the sides of the reel and work it in and out a few times then problem solved.
We currently have a non functional 21’ slingshot for over a month now at the Edison NJ dealer with an error code they can’t figure out … luckily we live ten minutes away 😢
There is a break-in period that must be strictly followed. The first 500 miles you are to keep it under 70. No burnouts or heavy acceleration. The computer has to learn your habits and adjust accordingly. I have a 2020 SL and had the stock battery for the first two years no codes. I now run two XS power batteries because I updated my system. You have to follow that 500 mile break-in period as well as getting the oil changed first 500 miles. It’s in the owners manual.
Well,we bought one about a month ago. They said to break it in gently but my idea of gentle is how i drive my truck. Hard and fast. If it breaks its under warranty. You drive it like you stole it. If there is a weak spot i want to find it before the end of the warranty. These things are very well mated between gears and i drive it like my semi without a clutch. It shifts better without the clutch. I dont like the catalog that polaris has because it has limited stuff and their clothing line is more like bed clothes with bland colors.
I saw your video on Auto Shutdown. My issue is that my music shut off immediately after I hit the powe off button. No 15 - 20 second delay. How do I fix that?
