Ive owned quite a few brands, but polaris does have a smooth manageable powerband. Especially for the amount of HP. Where CanAm is like tye funny car at a drag strip doing wheelies for the whole 1/4m

Definitely made the trade worth it in the end! I wonder if the ones I traded with got the old camper roof fixed yet? 🤔

Im not partial to any brand, but i yend to defend Polaris because people hate on them. Ive owned a High Lifter and have a Touring 850. Ive had zero major issues, im in Canada and plow lots if snow, and i ride approx 2500-3000m per year on trails. My main gripe is this.... Ehile tye AWD is probably tye best for near all scenarios, its failure is that it cannot engage in the fly at speed. So if you're going over 20kmh (12mph?) And engage awd, it wont engage until below that speed. So real world, your going 30mph amd want awd for up ahead, it literally eont engage without a major slow down.

Love me some Polaris. Aftermarket has a ton of upgrade parts. Learn how a cvt works and when to use low/high and your set !! Great video.

It’s awesome to see how much stuff you can get for these! Especially when compared to the Honda’s and Yamaha’s atvs I’ve had in the past…lol.

Nice to see it up and running. Hit some trails and test it out. A group ride would be cool.

I’ll be doing some performance tests soon, as long as the weather holds…lol, and getting many good trails rides in for sure!

@@AppalachianMountainRiders It has been a strange winter for sure. This weekend is looking pretty good. I’m sure you will give it a good test.

Ive had ither ATV's, and especially tye KQ, changing tires xan vastly improve the ride, but the KQ was terrible with radials. Iversteer became a massive issue as well as the shock plushness. That being said, i went from stock to 27" big horn style tread, and the Polaris maintained its ride quality.

I bought the very first Polaris RZR (2007) and it was truly a POS!!… left a sour taste in my mouth of buying a newer one.. 2 years later i traded it in for a Honda Foreman and still have it to this day and it still runs like the day it was new. 14 years old! Runs perfect.

2 things are likely here. 1) Honda's are not "performers" so we know you don't ride it like someone who buys 850/1000 models. Which means it likely has an easier life. (Not saying you don't ride it) 2) you are one who cares for their stuff Bring in NS, we have a lot of people who just leave their ATV's on the lawn 24/7 and change the oil when they mentally feel like it's due. Which is years. For the people I know who care as I do, none have any major issues with any brand.

Last comment lol If you have to do ONE mod to a Polaris ATV, mive the cvt exaust. Its like polaris goes out if their way to make them a poor design. My touring, i used a plumbing adapter with a pipe clamp, then routed it to high up under the rear rack area. Then zip tied it. It has zero wiggle and if i need it off, it takes 30 sec to cut the ties and unscrew the clamp. Reinstall is less than 5 min. The ither thing i did, i used a plumbing drain peice on the low end just in case somehow water got in. I just unscrew the cap. But zero water gets in the belt with this setup.

That was something I noticed when I had the engine out. I don’t plan on getting I. Anything too deep but stuff like that I do anyway for that just in case scenario…lol

@@AppalachianMountainRiders exactly why I did it. My first few rides I went through mainly puddles, 1-4" deep, and if you are going even a mild pace, the opening was getting wet and a little mud film was just inside. So I made my setup for peace of mind, and being able to remove it on the fly in case I needed warranty work.

would it be possible to get the eps from a junk machine and mod it unto the 850?

Visco lock is literally the worst 4x4 in the industry. It requires a min if 1 full tire spin. And Canam finally admitted it by adding a full licker these days

It might be a nice ride and all, but it has needed a bunch of work for a low mileage machine. That being said, the little miles it has had could have been really abusive miles.
@AppalachianMountainRiders
@AppalachianMountainRiders 5 месяцев назад
A lot of work for one little issue though…lol. That’s just a poor engineering design on Polaris’s part in making the cam gear on the crank a press fit and not making it into the crank like most every other OEM’s do😤. And I know that the front driveshaft missing and the front diff being broke was from a collision with the front number being bent back and the rack support being broke. So in that sense it definitely was some abuse🤣

Ya, too many Brand-Racists out there, I would like a Polaris for the ride quality, but I'd loss all my friends 😭
