Might sound crazy but my 400 sport 2 stroke was doing something similar..the emergency shut off was loose…my quad would run until it warmed up and spark was going away..snugged it on there really well and problem gone

There is a check valve going in to the power head for the oil injector sometimes they clog up and all you need to do is replace them and the seal to the oil pump is replaceable as well I did all mine for under 20 bucks

Ryan Plato my bike is running at high RPM and it won’t stop or turn off, could this be gas coming in with no oil? Oil pup not working?

@@jgavilan75 sounds like you have a vacuum leak, meaning the engine is sucking air through a leak. It's likely either the intake boot where the carb attaches to the cylinder, or a crankshaft seal.

A couple of tips on oil injection.... the pumps rarely go bad in my experience. The most common problem I see is the type of 2 stoke oil that is put in the reservoir. There is premix 2 stroke oil, and injection 2 stroke oil. Premix is generally more viscous, which will not flow as quickly and smoothly through an injection system, leading to overheating and top end wear, or worse. Another common mistake is running the oil tank empty and not priming the system before running the engine. Obtain and read the owners manual of your machine!!! Or better yet, get the service manual that the shops use.

Mine will run just fine but once I start to drive fast for 2 minutes it dies almost likes its running out of fuel

it sounds like the carburetor seat is done in. i had that problem on a few quads. i got a few quads with low compression. but the carb seat to motor is done in usually. i bet if u lift up or push your carb in it will run nicely. i got one of those now and it had no compression and now it's at 70psi and climbing slowly and i try n get it running again.

I had to replace the piston. The skirt was fried.

hey there got a buddy with this bike and it kinda fires and he got it goin 1 day for about 15 mins yeah and wouldnt start. was stranded now were new to fixing bikes and we know bike was rebuilt we know its was 50:1 but we cant seem to keep it running should we do a carb rebuilt or maybe get somone with brains to look at it

Start with a good carb cleaning or rebuild kit. 50 to 1 is good. Do a compression check. You can rent a tester at a auto parts store. See if it's above 90 psi. That will tell you if it's a piston issue or just the carb Also try a new plug. I had one run like crap. Put a new sparkplug in and boom! Worked great. Sometimes they foul out and you might not know it.

How do I take my flywheel off on my 1993 polaris trailblazer 250 I have the tools but I don't have a power tool or air tool so I change my crankcase seal?

They can be pretty stubborn. Check out my video how to replace a water pump on a 350/400. I showed how to pull a stubborn flywheel. Magnet might be broke inside.

Very interesting and helpful video thanks. I have a similar issue with a 1999 Polaris ranger 6x6 500, while the engine runs perfectly when started and during the first 10min of driving it, the engine starts back firing and starts making very unconventional sounds. When accelerating during this phase, the engine significantly decreases in power till it eventually cuts out. Once cut out, the engine does not start till cooled down for a few minutes, weirdly the longer one waits the longer one can drive until the engine issue returns. Common sense it telling me, that it's got to do with heat but im not sure if that right. Could be an engine issue, a carburetor issue or something completely different? I appreciate your comments, Thanks

Sounds like a timing issue. Bad camshaft maybe. Exhaust valve is not opening all the way possibly? Which would explain the heat issue. Or the cdi box is going bad. I've heard of that happening to other people.

Titaniumman Garage thanks I’ve checked out quite a few and all of them are excellent! Should it be the camshaft, wouldn’t the engine issue start straight away? We got the cdi changed recently and it’s directly from Polaris, so I don’t think it’s that. Any other ideas?

@@chriswatchingelephants3910 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Generally. .yes! You will notice power loss right away. I had one that started perfectly but one I hit about 10 miles an hour it would make noise and no power then die. I would still inspect the cam and timing to rule it out. You could probably just take the rocker cover off to inspect. Oh...you said it was a 99. 1998 and 99s were the bad cam years. Polaris screwed up and put softer camshafts in them and they wear faster. Next I would check the carb and make sure no cracks are in the carb boot. Sucking in too much air will make it run lean..and hot.

@@TitaniummanGarage When starting the engine, there is absolutely no power loss, but i'll check the cam anyway. Very interesting to know about the bad cams. Ok, with carb boot you're meaning the intake boot right? If interested I can send you a video? Might give you a better understanding?

I just had a Trailboss 250 dropped off with the same complaint. Throttle up and it dies. Did you rebuild the top end? I'd be interested to know what you went through to do that.

Wyse One . Yes I did rebuild top end. I did post 2 more Videos about it. It was really easy if your good at turning a wrench. 6 bolts take off the top cover. Then 4 nuts at the bottom of jug/cylinder. It slides off. Re bore cylinder at a shop and install new piston. cost? 120 bucks.

The needle and seat in the carb float bowl is not shutting. I would buy a rebuild kit for your carburetor.
