What a great way to welcome in spring!! A new beginning! You're going to love that porch! I have my doggie's paw print, and date on my patio. I'm so glad I did it. He's in doggie heaven now, but was an important part of the household while he was here. God bless.

The pump cement trucks are neat to watch. The rain wasn’t fun to watch because we had a lot of rain this past Wednesday which flooded a lot of our area.

Man that concrete looks real nice. Man you had a lot of truck pour concrete there. I hope they didn't damage you yard too bad. I think that is awesome that you got your names initials & the dog footprint in the concrete. I know that is special in the family. I like that. I think that is awesome.
I remember building my shop, it just didn't feel real until that slab went down...and instantly you feel like you're looking at your building. It's really just a mental thing but the slab puts your mind into go time..You have to be exited now.
OMGosh, that is one heck of a large porch. I do hope it will be screened in. The family and friends gathering will be awesome. I am so excited to be on this journey with you guys. YAY....
We went back and forth on screening the porch for a while. Ultimately we've decided to not screen it in, even though it's buggy Florida. We feel the screen blocks the view and the breeze. We can always screen it in later if we need to

I'm actually going to price that this week, but honestly I have all the tools and experience with wood. It feels like it would be easier to work with wood.

Not yet, that's on this week's agenda. I didn't do any shelter work while the crew was in the background and music was playing. I'm finally alone this week.
You mentioned in another video that you used a "Tankless Water heater". Did you notice that it was hard to keep water temps the same when switching between shower head and hand wand? Notice any other anomalies? We have an older one in a bunkhouse and have this water temp issue in the shower. Just wandering.... Thanks man! (Concrete looks awesome!)
Never had a hand wand, just a shower head. I always found the temps consistent after the few initial seconds it takes to get you hot water. The only issue I found was if you like a Luke warm shower (I do). If you barely had any hot water flow, it could turn off on you. Our had adjustments for temperature, but not flow.
I live in the Rockies and thought of doing radiant heat. Did you ever think of the radiant heat or is it just not necessary as it is usually warm in Florida?
I'm in Ohio, not in a big termite area and I've never heard of having the dirt sprayed before putting a vapor barrier down. Do you know what they use? Maybe the same stuff they pump into the ground if anyone around here has an issue?

It started with covid shutting some of the mills down last year. I don't know what the excuse is anymore. Sadly everyone is telling me it's going up more
@@TKCL I wonder if the artic storm added to it? Seems like everything stopped for a few weeks. We order pillows from My Pillow and it took over 4 weeks to get here. They were stuck in one of the FedEx wharehouses.
Probably not, all of our lumber comes out of Florida and Georgia (our yellow pine does) we were not affected by the storm. Hurricane Michael destroyed millions of acres of saw timber too, I forgot that also helped snowball this problem.

I know you place the decking on the roof, instead of just metal, but if you spray foamed and the metal did leak, wouldn’t it still be water resisted. Just wondering if it is worth the extra cost for me. You guys still did very awesome on the budget though. You def have my subscription.
No it wouldn't because we did open cell foam, that's the most common in the humid south. Either way, closed cell or open cell, a leak is a leak. Problem with closed cell is the leak travels over the hard foam and it's very difficult to locate its origin. I strongly recommend spending the money and putting plywood on the roof. It gives ALL screws something to bite into and give a proper seal to the screws rubber washer. It allows the foam to bond to the wood and NOT the metal. This not only doesn't void the metal warranty, but allows you to easily change the metal decades down the road when it's time. What about storm or hail damage? You might need to replace the roofing metal sooner. Lastly decking the roof with plywood just makes an overall stronger roof.
Nice setup. I didn't do the pole barn house "wife" but i wanted to due to the amount of coverage i could have compared to what i have with this metal building. We did a metal ranch style building with 10 inch slab which cost around $50k turnkey. I was planning to do around $6k cash transactions monthly to get the house framed and finished and figured it would take about a year to complete. Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll that wasn't fast enough for the wife sooooooooooooooooo $200k later we were in our home within 5 months. KILL ME NOW
