Your statement about coming in and seeing the toilet 3" off to one side rings so well with me...I was renting a place (cheap till I got my funds built up) and the toilet was set at an 8 degree twist to the right from straight center...drove me absolutely NUTS for the entire two years I lived there before getting my house bought. I'm not saying that made my choice to move but at the new place I checked all the toilets to make sure they were straight, level and centered :) The bloopers were excellent!

You need to add 2X4's to the inside walls so the the sheet rock has a place to be nail or screwed into. That will make your divider wall a lot more solid. This is where all your inside corners meet up.

Ever consider putting in extra blocking in your bathroom walls now to accommodate for grab handles/rails in case you ever need them (God Forbid) in the future? Also not a bad idea to do it for installing/securing cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen. Makes it easier versus relying on your wall studs. Really enjoying watching your build, since I'll likely be doing it next spring summer. Thanks for letting us follow along.

Had to laugh at the blooper at the very end! I am surprised you haven’t tried using the saw without being plugged in more times than this. Glad you have that attic fan to help to cool you down some. You are making great progress on the walls. I would get lost in a walk in closet that size, you may have to post a map on the wall so you can find your way back out!!!

Great video today! U just solved the mystery of y I continue to have a recurring cracks above 2 different doorways, where 2 corners come together!! The walls should have been braced exactly like u braced that spot u didn’t like! U made a good catch- one of many u have made!

Just viewed the segment were you realized that the bathroom is going to be 3 " wider. Thought: what about building a shelving unit (the 3" deep) and into the wall giving about a 5"-6" deep shelf. Mama might put some pretties in it. Blessings.

Andrew, you need to make a correction to your framing. You need to build wall tees to put in the outside wall and the center load bearing wall so the closet wall can be tied in. The tees give you a nailer for the sheetrock. To build the tees cut two studs for the main walls then cut three 12 inch 2x4 blocks. Nail the blocks between the studs flush with the edge of the studs that will face the intersecting wall. Place a block a couple inches from the bottom and top of the studs and place the third block half way between the two.

The way we connect interior walls to each other is to make a C channel with 3 2x4’s. This provides backing in the corners to screw drywall to also.

So just a question. The way the walls attach to the Exterior and the Middle load bearing wall. How do you plan to attach the Sheet rock to wall in the corners? There should be some bracing there.

The way you tied those two walls in doesn't leave you many places to attach your sheetrock in the corner. That may be perfectly acceptable where you're at but I've never seen it done that way. What the price of wood I would be looking for a different way to do Corners than what I was taught myself.

One more thing, how come y’all didn’t tie in a door way from the bedroom to master closet? Bedroom to bathroom access.

Because the additional door would take up wall space in the closet, messing up storage and the flow. It also allows noise and light to enter the bedroom from anyone getting ready in there. We also insulated the bedroom walls for sound and the zoned bedroom AC, a door would take away that insulation as well. Personally we have never once went to a closet first in the mornings, it's always the bathroom to brush teeth and take care of business. It doesn't bother us in the least that there is no bedroom door, we planned it that way.

We call it bottom plate seal, it's required by code and most any hardware store should have it.

By not putting a second header(?) on the inner wall won't you create a downward slope from the outer wall to the inner wall when you have to install the overhead 2x4's?

Nope, I extended all wall studs by 1.5 inches (width of a 2x4) to compensate.

Wife would have to have a walk through from the bed room into the walkin closet. Plumber should have worked to no more than a inch, 3 inch is unacceptable.. Looks like commode, shower drain and Kitchen supply are all off big time. Hope the others are correct.

Make sure to make a note on your drawings to remind yourself that your closet is now different dimensions than what your drawing shows. That way you don't mess yourself up when ordering closet accessories, like drawers, etc.
