: B.C. Ferries saw "significant" delays and multiple sailing cancellations on one of its major routes between the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island on Friday after a police incident on board one of its ships overnight - resulting in plenty of frustrated passengers, and marking yet another tumultuous summer weekend for the ferry operator.

Timely information giving the reason for the delay would have been helpful. At least give passengers a heads up in case they may need to find a motel for the night.

People have to think of it as an adventure. You're driving your car into a ship and crossing the ocean to get to and from an island - good for you - and it has its unique risks.

hire more people, pay them properly and treat them with respect. the ferries are just another visible demonstration of ndp incompetence. wake up horgan, you're doing a really bad job.
