California is the only place where you can watch a chase happen, and know with reasonable certainty that the person is going to get away. Or be released the next day.

This is what California asked for for law enforcement. These Pursuits don't last anywhere near as long in other states where they take them off the road so they don't hurt other people

People get out of the way because we don't want to be around crazy drivers. We see someone coming up fast on us, it's just easier to let them by then to deal with road rage. I always try to get out of people's way when they are doing lots of lane changes, speeding, tailing, etc. I don't want to be around them because they often cause crashes. Smart drivers get out of the way of such people.

Moron's erratic driving got them spotted at what was possibly the only real chance they had to get away by ditching the car.

The best part of all of this is her knight in shining honor dimed her off before she made it to the fwy on ramp. So they know who they were chasing and who will eventually be charged for all of this the whole time.. So all of her efforts are for nothing. There is no way that dude kept his mouth shut..

Yeah - when pilots controlled air space, we had a lot of accidents. So now airports control air space to keep planes and helicopters from causing preventable problems. So pilots have to warn the air traffic controllers that they are in the airport's air space and best to scoot around it whenever possible.

Also watching other states do police pursuits, I've come to appreciate California's caution - it is not ethical or right to put innocent drivers at risk to catch the odd criminal. Helicopter surveillance with communication on the ground is best in these circumstances to not rattle the criminal more and then doing pit maneuvers where it is safe and doesn't involve other drivers and their property is great too. Also, if you have someone who is forced to be with in the car being chased - it's not fair to them to kill them because you are overzealous with stopping them, however rare that might be. Many other states' law enforcement has little regard to innocent drivers when they pursue suspects - law enforcement is supposed to protect us first - not disregard our safety in order to catch the criminal. What they do with themselves is up to them - but they should protect the general public first.
