Oh wow, nostalgia overload, haven't watched this in years! Had Police Stop 1,2,3 & 4 on VHS as a kid, watched them many many times. Cheers for uploading, good to watch them once again and now my VHS tapes are long gone.
Those British and European police dash cam footage surely feel different than American ones. The small-font time stamps, speed stamps & zooming functions are truly unique.
Worth noting this is the version that originally aired on Sky One. The VHS version had different background music on some of the clips. Namely horse clip, 'motorway cameras sequence', kids playing chicken and european footage montages. Also, there's a dubbing error on the driving instructor sequence. The sound is all echoey and at some points isn't. The speech bits that aren't echoey only appear on this Sky One edit and not on the VHS release. Don't know why this was done as it adds nothing to programme. There are also some clips missing and the rowing couple was without continuity and appears earlier in the programme on the Sky One edit. Also, 'the off road chase' is bolted on from Police Stop 1 and has a bad edit on the flashing blue light bumper at the start. Why did Raw cut/Labyrinth media do this? I have every single Police Stop episode including Police stop 11, Worst of Police Stop and Police Stop America. Will try and upload the missing ones. I'll also try and upload the VHS release of Police Stop 2 so you can see the difference.
Hi Matt, yeah I noticed a lot of differences also. I once had the VHS where Martin Caswell (The driving instructor) Isn't echoey at all. I lost that copy years ago so purchased a used copy from Ebay only for that to be echoey - I wonder what happened as the one I previously had didn't echo at all.
Do you have the liver run episode? The only one on RU-vid I can find has been pulled and was the only one I’m aware of that had the complete run and with unedited sound. The police camera action version is awful, chopped and has totally dubbed audio. You’d be my hero if you had the liver run and could upload it.
anyone got any idea what is going on at 33:10 I didn't think that using a phone while driving was made illegal until around 2003, yet this clip is from 1992.
Probably the same as driving without due care and attention... and being as carphones were relatively new, not so much research had gone into how devastating the effects can be; owing to driving on the phone... 😔🥺
I find it strange how so many in the UK can't seem to back-up their car in a straight line. Isn't this part of practice and driving licence exams in the UK ?
I like the Brentwood, CA bus chase. Felipe Attaragosti-Ferrer applied for a job at a bus company in San Diego, but was turned down. He stole the bus and led CHP on a high-speed chase from San Diego to Los Angeles. He travelled westbound on Sunset Blvd., at times on the wrong side of the road, and skidded out of control. He crashed into the guard rails and into other vehicles, then ripped off a 15-foot section of chain link fence, nearly hitting a Sheriff's deputy. The chase ended at a dead-end street, and the bus backed up, crashing into a Patrol vehicle. Then, it backed up into Mary Pringle's house, and the officers ordered the driver out. Luckily, Mary Pringle wasn't home. Felipe Attaragosti-Ferrer was charged with and later convicted of grand theft auto, reckless driving, attempted murder of a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon, and countless other traffic violations. The judge found him mentally incompetent to stand trial, and he spent 10 years in the San Diego County Men's Jail. He later plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges in exchange for time served, and was released. The footage of the chase was supplied by helicopter pilot/reporter Bob Tur.
Should do people tail gating, but if the car in front is in the overtaking lane and purposely slows down for no reason then they should be done for undue care and attention.
The narrator played PC Tony Stamp in the Bill. I agree tho, he should stick to acting and give up moonlighting as a narrator. Probably needed the extra money!
