I am muslim and was listening to this video. I am also a student of history and comparative religion this guys was really good. Living in westernworld we have Indian's Pakistanis living together. studied with hindus and celebrated both festivals. politics have always ruin the taste of peace.

The meaning of Hindutva & Hinduism Hindu 'ism' is an English suffix, and 'tattva' is a Sanskrit suffix, which stands for 'ness' or 'essence' Hindu + tattva = Hindutva or Hinduness (the essence what makes one person a Hindu).

As a Christian, it is very refreshing to understand the true essence of the Hindu religion. Thank you for this talk! The point of Devdutt sir where he states that to understand a particular faith, we need to talk to the person who has been practising the faith over years makes so much sense! I do want to mention that Christianity is not an exclusive faith. The scripture teaches us to walk away from a sin but not the sinner. We are supposed to love one another as our own self. (Definitely not practiced by every Christian and our country's history is a proof of that and that's the difference between following a religion and following a faith)

I admire the hindu religion for being so accepting and pluralistic. And also the fact that it is not a rule-based religion. Nothing is imposed on anyone. And they have been historically non-violent with no intentions to 'convert' others. But due to politics, some vitriolic hindus have emerged. They are tarnishing the image of so many peaceful hindus in the name of Lord Ram. Sad.

As Muslim I can say that I’m modern person but I can never leave my religion aside Even after growing in Europe I strongly believe on my religion but not to harm anothers

Also, very helpful for the audience at large to hear about the true nature of Hinduism compared to as what is being currently built up by ONE Political Party (and Devdutt Ji was bang on when he pointed to it). It's like there is a great huge ancient mirror which can show their true face to anyone looking into it but every few days that mirror needs to be dusted and cleaned so that the contemporary political dust doesn't malign the image one wants to see in that mirror and also preserve the true dignity of that age old mirror. Having said that, I would have, however loved to see a few more questions from you and relevant answers from Devdutt Ji as he is not just a common man with an opinion (although, he is entitled to being so) but he has also studied himself, authored and painted a good imagery of this ancient religion (? - faith, belief, communnity, tradition OR what I like to refer it as `The Sanaatan Dharmaa` and here `Dharmaa` is not synonymous with so-called `religion`). So, here are some of the questions which I would have liked to be part of this show, on the aptly chosen topic by you and rightly so, posed to the learned Devdutt Ji: Q1: First of all, it would have helped a lot to point out the differences and nuances in the meaning itself of the very word 'religion` VS `Dharmaa`. Devdutt Ji would have definitely done justice to that question and would have been a delight for many to listen/reckon on "What is the difference between any religion VS so-called Hinduism or the actual Sanaatan Dharmaa?". Q2: If the Hindu Dharmaa is referred as `Sanaatan Dharmaa` then the very idea of Sanaatan means we cannot put a date on it, whatsoever. 3500 years that is mentioned in this show's discussion is only known and recorded history of Bhagvad Gita to be fair to the historians so far. The faith itself is much more older than that. Devduttji, being the kind of outspoken and frank researcher he is, could have cleared doubts from the minds of many white-(saffron)-washed Hindus (am afraid, I mean, believers of Sanaatan Dharmaa faith) about the timelines of established religions and something which was never established by any known human being. Q3: Before even getting to the question of 'Dismantling the Hindutva` campaign and questions surrounding that, could we not get to the core of the issue as in `Why or how a few believers of the faith could be white-(saffron)-washed by a political party for their own selfish gains and made the masses to feel insecure` and what can be done to tackle it? Baap re! This comment has become so large that it deserves to be it's own post or article. Nonetheless, my idea is not to draw any shortcomings in the show but to just say humbly that many more relevant topics could be brought up for the greater good especially when we bring the experts to speak on the show. However, just due to the length of my comment, I am going to stop now. Thanks again to Devdutt Ji, Aakash and the Deshbhakt team. Kudos!!!
