I loved Yu-Peng Chen Scaramouche impression! Not to mention his SINGING!? His voice sounds so haunting yet calm. The opera in the back was also so good and definitely added more hype to the song. I love the robotic theme tied with a traditional Japanese flute (Shakuhachi). It really goes good with his Mecha (Or as I like to call it, Evangelion. Ifykyk) and the Japanese melody, connecting to his past. I'm obsessed with this song overall and I hope you enjoyed he video!
@@CrownCrown094 you got it wrong. The person who confirmed that he was not the one who sang this song was Kana, Scara's Chinese VA. Credit for the 2nd Sumeru album listed that Yu Peng Cheng was the singer.
That line also talks the 5th night. Which refers to Japanese tradition of naming a child by the 7th night. Balladeer being abandoned on the 5th night is believed that he was never given a name, never given a purpose for him to exist.
@@beanik835 goddd Ei why did you do this to him fck please Is that really that way? She is too cruel JUST HOW COULD SHE???? no wonder he never wanted to born in this lyrics oml
@@3.giabao382 i think its bc the 7th night is when you give your baby a name (in Japanese traditon) but he was thrown on the 5th night, so he was never able to be given a name
@@melgenoro8291 actually they called him Kabukimono which means “a person who wears eccentric clothing”. Kunikuzushi was a name he adopted during the time he sought revenge against the Raiden Gokaden
Fun facts about Scaramouche's name(s)!! Kabukimono means "thing corresponding to Kabuki", like how Tabemono means "Thing corresponding to eating" (basically, food or ingredients.) Him being called Kabukimono is basically him being called a puppet for performances, it's more of an identifier than an actual name. Also, Kunikuzushi, the pseudonym he chose for himself, means "destroyer of the country," which fits well with how he destroyed the Raiden Gokaden singlehandedly in his act of vengeance! It's in line with his motivations at the time, which were fueled by intense feelings of betrayal and mistrust. Scaramouche, his title, is a name corresponding to a Commedia Dell'arte stock character, the same list of stock characters that all of the Fatui are named after. Scaramouche is usually instead "Scaramucchia" in the original Italian, but for some reason HoYoVerse opted to use the French translation for it, like how Pierro is the French version of Pedrolino. Scaramucchia actually means "Little Skirmisher," Which fits his role in the Fatui very well! In summary, though, he's basically never been given an actual name, not by Ei or by anyone else. That's why he gives us the ability to name him; he truly is a wanderer, as he has no name or home to go back to. I also find it interesting that all of his names and/or titles are simply things that he does, not things that he is. It's all tied to his use and not his identity, which I find really sad.
his names are very important to his lore and to his character. i like how at the end of everything his name his wanderer now. hes always been a wanderer from the start.
@@solacellee Oh yes my Girlfriend introduced me to Genshin. I played the Main Story as far as possible. Im in love with his Bossfight and his theme, so i was glad to find your Video :) Also i have Wanderer/Scaramouche and i will never stop using him xD
I love how in his theme, there's only one Fatui Leitmotif (1:46) representing that his allegiance to them are just a shred and guise for getting Electro Gnosis.
had to check out an actual translation of this song because i found out the lyrics and tried to translate on my own since i’ve been learning latin for a while, and i think i did a pretty well job because our translations are pretty alike😋
Same 😭😭 I think I’m at a lower level though because I could hardly get most of it down The way my jaw dropped when I instantly realized it was Latin tho- 😅
One time I was in my higher AR friend’s world doing the boss and she died on purpose in the second part of the boss and i somehow survived I’m still haunted to this day
Ypc leaving the genshin to pursue his music career dream.. i will always remember him esp for this track.. his voice is so good and almost similar to scara jp's va .. full of emotions too.. May you succeed in pursuing your dream ypc!
I feel like its more similar to Luyin Kana (scaras cn va) they sound identical. but yea, we all hope yu peng chen has a great time pursuing his dreams :)
« The arrogant sages overstep sinful restriction » « The sages are seduced by what is sinful » I just love these sentences, it makes a lot a sense in the sumeru arc where they try to create a god, conduct research studies that bring madness or may be linked to Khaenri’ah dangerous mechanisms that go against the gods’ authority !
So cool to see official lyrics for this. When the boss battle first came out there were a handful of translations from fans, but since all you could do is listen by ear, most of the latin in the song got misheard. Crazy to think that nod to bohemian rhapsody at the end wouldve been lost if the lyrics werent released. I read a good amount of fan translations and none of them included that. ALSO I ALWAYS THOUGHT 1:38 "Nihil debet" WAS JUST SUPPOSED TO BE AN OMINIOUS LAUGH LMAO? Had no idea that was supposed to words 😭 Thank you for the video!
When I finally got to name Scaramouche, I kinda agonized about what name would fit him best. After an embarrassingly long consideration that left me on the naming window for quite a while, I settled on "Shinji". Yeah, it might just be a funny Eva reference, but I liked how that name has multiple meanings for him based on how you write it When just using hiragana, "Shinji" reads as しんじ. With the root kanji being 信じ, it means "to believe", and I wished that it encapsulates the faith that both the Traveler and Nahida have for him and his path of redemption. However, written with kanji, "Shinji" is written as 神事, meaning "divine work", "miracle", or even "divine affairs". It calls back to his past as being Ei's creation, who is an archon, and my wish thusly is that he never forgets where he came from. Plus, it calls back to his hubris of trying to attain divinity, and works almost like a reminder of what he had done, like a punishment. Imagine my surprise when I found out "celestial affairs" is literally part of his theme song. I knew I picked the right name for him then 😂
the last sentences shows us that scaramouche (i hope i said it correctly) is not pure evil but only a broken heart kid thought i think we all know that
I'm actually such a fake fan for not watching the English translation sooner. I remember when the leaks for this came out, and there was no singing, and it was still a banger. When it officially released, we were all scrambling to get the English translation, and now it's finally here. In 3 days, it'll finally be my king's official release date anniversary. I have spent thousands of dollars on him, and I do not regret it. He is the best thing that ever happened to me. He made me experience everything. He is everything. I hear him in the wind, I feel him in the grass. I breathe in his aura when I simply inhale and exhale. What would my life be without him? Each day, I wake up to his face. Every night, I go to sleep to his voice. Yu Peng Chen did a glorious job for his voice, and I know this is a slightly unpopular opinion but I prefer this version over the Live version of Polumnia Omnia. This makes me feel nostalgic. There was a time where it was not called Polumnia Omnia, and I just referred to it as Scaramouche's Boss Theme II. How things have changed. I'm not sure if it is for the better or for the worse when I first got Genshin, because I definitely had gotten a bit insane over the few months of waiting for Scaramouche(Wanderer) to release. It's almost a year. Truly shocking. He is my god, he is my glory. He is the sun, he is the moon, he is the stars, and he is the sky. He is in my every being. My every breath. Every time I see new art of him, I scream in joy. To be fairly honest, I had taken a slight break from consuming much content of him because I got unironically, genuinely angry when I saw ship art. It was insane. And honestly? I still do. But I think my suffering is for a good cause, and I will praise my lord and saviour until my last breath. He inspires me to live, and if I die, it is for him.

Misheard lyrics at 1:14: felonies. Waiting to pet two elephants (Saw the) Saw the (lady) lady and then Let’s sit, not smoke, not cough, let meet at club too👀
The japanese part of the lyric is pretty much how scaramouche lamented that Ei discarded/abandoned him. The latin part seems like telling about his "ascension" to godhood by dottore and the sumeru sages
i ran “goya no sue nazo nagasure” through google translate and got “goya’s pottery mystery washed away” ah yes my favorite genshin character, goya’s pottery mystery
Nice video! However i think the next time you make a lyric video you should make the text color not blending with the background color so its easier to see.
i was fighting him with youtube songs playing in the background, not listening to it much... when i started hearing the last bits of it i knew i missed an entire epic song, so i had to come back and listen to it... how could i miss this? (i also fought him at 9:00pm)
0:12 him being a fake god ( as traveler said or nahida ) 0:30 his defeat? 0:41 aware that having a delusional is bad for anyone that actually uses their vision instead he was shown to have a electro vision maybe a delusional but it changes to anemo after being defeated when he protected the main character in one scene 1:14 i have a idea what this means involves scara or grand sage but not enough proof.. 1:20 1:31 about himself or the gods ( no feelings or purpose to bound to anything ) 1:50 decrees ? an official order issued by a legal authority?? Idk 2:43 himself ? But he wasn’t forced but he was a test subject for the doctor and the sages wanted a new god because nadiha wasn’t good enough in their eyes 2:53 .. I might search more lore up since this song might have a bigger meaning..
Interesting vision take but I thought its bcs at this moment scaramouche sees himself as a simple puppet who lacks good ambition worthy of a vision until he really does learn to be somewhat human with a vision
@@Mimix-o thats still not a vision, thats a gnosis. im not denying he can control electro (i believe he could before getting the gnosis), im just stating he didnt have a vision
Its very likely this is not 100% correct tho. Rhapsodia Roscida (Red/Burning Rhapsody) 1. domina praeteritae peribitur et sculpitur crastino The previous mistress will perish and the future shall be sculpted anew. 2. canonem gnosis inscribit inclinabimini non iam ad caelesti The Gnosis now ordains (that) you will no longer bow to Celestia 3. ecce premeris quoniam iuvenis sanguinum es derelicte Lo! For you who consume the blood of the forsaken youth shall be defeated! 4. a malo pressa voces iterum conquiratis quam manui sis tenere etiamsi Why would you seek to hold in your hand even voices subdued by evil? 5. (nolite me relinquere ir in finem etiamsi) (Do not abandon me, not even in the end) 6. qui formaret falsum deum Who would fashion a false god? 7. (vae cui formavit deum) (Woe is (she) who fashioned a god!) 8. ad nihil utile To no use! 9. poesis eis letis recto fatus tecum fallis deperdite Your word with you, by the ruins of this poem undone, you fall and are lost. 10. estris vae falsatis quod ad propinquavit At last! You deceive the one who approaches you!
