It stops the filler falling out of the hole especially if you’re repairing a roof hole!

No the tape stays. The tape around the hole will get sanded down flat.

You could just squeeze the tube in the hole I guess. We’ve took some shelving down that the guy before used really long thick screws and left very deep holes I have to patch up 😊

You'd need to fill the hole with a piece of plasterboard - there are other videos on YT on how to do this.

So Im in the middle of moving house and when moving stuff around someone knocked the wardrobe off balance and the corner has put a decent sized hole in the wall, could probably fit a football in there, lmao. Hope this works for bigger holes in the wall
