I know over 3.500 words in Swedish and Norwegian, and sometimes Swedish doesn’t sound like Swedish - most of those vocal samples are very tricky, as they use dialect versions instead of using the standard version for each language, so I cannot get past question 83 (Easy) because I always confuse Thai with Vietnamese and Chinese and Korean etc, so the language guessing games on Language Squad really make me feel like pulling my hair sometimes, but at least I won the Easy level for guessing the scripts!
Congratulations for the 1 million subscribers and Kaufmann’s blessings to you all. I woke up at 5 AM overwhelmed with emotion for reasons unknown, and literally within minutes, hyperpolyglot gigachad alpha male Language Simp who is attractive to women… and men, and conduit to the great Kaufmann, posted a new video. It was a sign, and a great one. I too, despite accidentally living in Japan, thought it must have been Spanish, since I have never watched anime.
7:27 I'm a speaker of this minangkabau language. For your defense it doesn't sound native (which is a bit sad), probably that's why you missed it. Don't sweat it man and get ready to learn it
@@ANN-ug2hd I have native pronunciation/accent (exposed to it since I was a kid) but my vocabulary is very limited (never really used the language that much) So, yes and no
Native Minangkabau and Indonesian here 👋 Well, it sounds like many Padang City Women (typically from elite family), they do speak Minangkabau, but they speak Minangkabau so soft and so slow, it's because they grew up watching Indonesian TV Programs and they imitate the way people in the TV series talk since they were kids and sadly they hardly ever write in Minangkabau language, it makes them not fluent reading what is written in Minangkabau language they just text with friends using Indonesian language
Im Norwegian, and when the third North Danish thing came up I was like: so that has to be either Turkic or Swahili. I am ashamed as I just came back from Copenhagen, and should be able to recognize North Danish.
Aight so, for your information, Aceh is actually a province in Indonesia which is located in Sumatra. Indonesia has a lot of cultural languages, since nearly each 34 province of Indonesia has its own distinctive culture and language, Acehnese is basically one of them. Anyways, my name’s Raafi, i’m from Indonesia. “Salam Kenal”😁
4:45 The woman who speaks in Portuguese is clearly not a native speaker, the accent is not exactly bad but with 270 million speakers and almost a dozen countries it doesn't seem difficult to use someone native.
now this is my new favorite language youtube channel, cant wait to become a papi polyglot gigachad that every woman and man on this earth feels atracted to
@@yukarimariapiresmachadoeri6312 hey the other day I learned of these really cool things called jokes you should try them out, not dangerous or anything don’t worry, they’re really common and used by most people so you should try them
Damn, your Russian is a WAY better that 95% of immigrants speak and really close to native. Guess you could become here a minister of foreign affairs. Huge like+subscribe
4:27 Tbf even I thought it was German for a second. It sounded like it loosely said “Danke Schön.” But the accent gave it away plus after that it was pretty obviously not German.
Dude, the woman speaking at 4:46 went to my school (Centro de estudios de lenguas extranjeras IPN) here in México to talk about the abolition of slavery in Brazil, so crazy when i regocnized her voice, also he's talking about same topic
I want to learn languages by myself. But here’s the thing I had a brain bleed when I was 1 and it messed up my language cortex. So it makes it a lot harder for me and I want to learn Spanish, Russian, and Mandarin. I set high standards for myself just so you know
Be careful there little buddy .. I started with Otomi & Mixtec and then learned English and Spanish at 8. Then learned all the Romance at 15, then Slavic (Russ, Serb) at 19, and danced with the Germanic (Danish, German) 2021.... eventually it lead me to the Dene Cuacasian theory . Then got obcessed with German because how Alpha (Chad) a mf langauge it is , which got me curious in its origin and then it led me to Hyperborea and Tartaria theories..Which for some reason was already knowledge to Grmans but we in NA are late to the party. After that it led me to GREEK,Persian and somewhat hebrew and constructed langauges like Classical Nahuatl and Standardized langauges post 20th century. But yeah Hyperborian theory is no joke at all.. be careful when you learn a language because then you learn its customs and habbits.. Like no joke when I spoke German , I had intense craving for Mineral Wasser out of nowhere. & So that's why I didn't want to learn French .. not a fan of white flags and giving up.
@@waltervondervogelweide4638 French is a very weird language that does not really pronunce things correctly like Spanish, italian, romanian and portugese. While its disguised Romance clothing(Grammar) much of it feels very odd. Closest comparison I would have is like if Mexico or Philipines started to speak English heavily and then label it apart of the Germanic family because they can speak English. Ghello, Gwat is you are nhame ? Mi fayvor... et culo er is Hiello. No f**n way that abomination ever because germanic. Same as French Fries. But one langauge that seems so similar to French is Georgian, both have a similar numeral system for counting 20s and both have those infamous R noise but Georgian uses 'gh' . Were the celt french originally georgians? No wonder there is a link of French and Russians and why Russian also some georgian in it. Gog and Magoog? Es Tut mir lied
"Swedish is a weird way to call north danish" hahahah! i'm so impressed that you can even hear the various dialects of swedish, especially Skånska, aka north danish
Tigrinya is the other language of Ethiopia, also written in the Ge'ez script. Also, I can't fathom my life without Amharic and Japanese music these days. You're amazing with your linguistic skills, I am merely a fan of other languages and I can only speak English fluently.
me japanese: surprised at suddenly hearing Japanese and being able to understand. also me: surprised that you've heard so many languages even a minor one, but never Japanese.

I love your content, also could you maybe start to learn croatian? it doesnt use cyrillic and its fairly easy for a slavic laungage so if you could i would really be happy, Happy days from croatia :)
As an Indonesian, I laugh a lot at Minangkabau. They also mentioned some other Indonesian native languages: Balinese, Acehnese. We have many more! You should learn Bahasa Indonesia! :D
@Polanie Czech and Polish accent is actually almost the same, especially in eastern parts of Czechia where people speak Czech-Polish hybrid. Fact that people say that Czech is similar accent like German is still bizare for me, German is full of schwa sounds, weird french R, many letters with double point and such sounds doesn't exist in Czech at all.
@@Pidalin Czech is the only Slavic language which have the main stress on the first syllable. This is a strong distinguishing feature, even if you don't know the vocabulary. Of course, except Silesian Czech which is more Polish than Czech.
@@breznik1197 Slovak too, but Slovak pronunciation and intonation is completely different than Czech, so it doesn't sound similar to me, Polish sounds similar to Czech than Slovak by my Czech ears.
7:40 I am Minang, and our language is so easy as long as you have a grasp on Malay/Indonesian language. Nevertheless, I can assure you that it doesn't sound like Minangkabau language at all and myself almost got the answer wrong lol
This is random one day my english tracher ask the class?, What is the language used in mexico And i answer spanish And my teacher said 'didnt mexico speak mexican'
can't believe i guessed more speaking only 3 languages fluently. I find it interesting how many polyglots knowledge usually includes european languages, and just three asian languages and swahili. Asia and its languages are so underapreciated, there's so much to it
as a minangkabau person, in question number 9 the voice is not correct at the pronounciation, but i can get some words : "all human that born into this world..." "manusia ka sadonyo nan alah lahia ka dunia..." Minangkabau is an ethnic group from western Sumatera, Indonesia. Actually, malay and minangkabau are relative similar because they come from the same root language. If you could speak malay fluently, you may be able to learn speaking minangkabau.
I wonder if Filipino audio files would be from different Filipino languages. Imagine ang shock kapag natama niya ang Tagalog at ang sunod na audio file ay Chavacano 😭
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 I wouldn't call Chavacano, or majority of the "dialects" in the Philippines as actual dialects. They're languages. An example I can give of a dialect is CDO Bisaya, Cebuano Bisaya, Davao Bisaya. And North v South Tagalog. But yeah, it would be fun to see a foreigner talk about Filipino (as a language family as it should function)
@@shynnieshymmur7386 idk why but a lotta Filipinos (and I’m saying this as a Filipino) always refer to our languages as dialects. Some even debate with me about it. Maybe because it sounds fancier or rarer, but somehow, some of us always get it mixed up
@@elena79rus She made some pronunciation mistakes that a native speaker would never do. I know that's Brazilian Portuguese but it's not a native speaker.
