I have so many.... but my worst was that I spent a couple months in Ecuador doing an agricultural internship studying a specific Ecuadorian bean that they call "chocho"..... then I flew to Mexico to have vacation afterwards and told everyone I had been studying chocho and that's when I learned it meant p*ssy in other Latin-American countries.. so awkward. I didn't know why they kept asking me to tell their friends what I was studying and giggling at me.... I can relate with the guy who wanted to go into the toilet lol.

i have two: i started learning spanish over the summer at a restaurant and i thought spanish had a subject pronoun for "it" as "lo". so after eating a lunch a lady cooked a meal for me, i said "gracias por la comida, lo fue muy bueno" (ignoring the fact that i didn't match the gender of bueno/a) and she thought i said "no fue muy bueno"!!! ahh it was so embarrassing the second one was when i was talking to someone online and was referring to someone we knew who was non-binary and i just didn't know what to say and ended up embarrassing myself so bad but we're good now 😭
