Love the colors! If you want your translucent Fimo to come out more translucent, when you bake it keep a bowl of water with ice cubes handy. Remove the clay piece from the oven and place it in the ice water. You'll see a big difference! I use the method for faux crystal stones and also cameos. Another way to highlight the edges of crystals is to varnish with a glossy glaze, then run a nail file very lightly on each edge, it looks very natural.
guys if you want a secret alternative to silver leaf. If you buy a pack of gum with the sticks wrapped in a foil lined wrapper. You can actually very carefully peel the very very thin foil from the wax paper of the wrapper this foil is so thing that I use to "silver plate" stuff like my pencil and binder when I was at school. It would definitely work better than aluminum kitchen foil. Plus, you'll be super minty!
The amethyst crystal sculpture looks so realistic, and crystals can be very expensive to buy, rose quarts would look lovely too, done this way or other crystals, looks very beautiful.
well... I did make a cupcake video though :D with my own cupcake prototype and mold ^^ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qrfMz7lc7LM.html
What a wonderful tutorial video! You did a great job showing the techniques, supplies and talking the audience through the process. Keep up the great work! I subscribed and I'm looking forward trying this technique out in the near future. Thanks for sharing!!! :)
Thank you so much for this video. Polymer clay is so much fun, real life took over some time ago and I had to leave crafting/jewellery making for a bit, now I realize that I miss it so much :) Your video made me go to the shop and buy just a pack of clay, I really want to do something pretty with it. And also you are very funny :) Thank you for your work!
Quel travail !!!! Chapeau bas (et même très très bas) ! Mais ton talent n'est plus à prouver. On sait tous que chaque nouvelle création ou vidéo sera un petit moment de perfection !
I NEVER KNEW THIS KIND OF CRAFT EXISTED! So much fun in these clays! Amazing vid! Well maybe I'm biased cos they look so much like lovely Starcraft II crystals... Love it...
+Stephanie K. PetitPlat Well, yeah! But the best thing to do is just to ignore them :) Well, for me all of your sculptures are amazing, so, there is nothing to thank :) Thank yourself that you have such a great talent! ^^
Thank you, you are very talented! It was exactly what I was looking for for a project that helped me a lot!Your voice is great and your speech is easy to understand. Keep up the great work.
I tried this today with lighter pinks and a faint blue ink, it looked like Rose Quartz!! (Ps I used Copic marker various ink, it worked very well) Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am in love with how it turned out!
I love your commentary! It's very soothing, descriptive and you have a good sense of humour. So much more interesting than just music (in all honestly, I usually skip through tutorials/speedpaint videos with just music). :P
Stephanie K. PetitPlat I understand the necessity of voiceover-less content, especially for content creators who make a lot of content too :) I just enjoy hearing about the process (it's really engaging!) and also think that the creator's personality comes through a lot more with a voice to associate with the video.
You're a good artist, but, the color gradient shift in the "amethyst" is very sharp. The hues and shades in Natural Amethyst crystals generally look like tufts of purple surrounded by clear Quartz. Although more saturated stones will look to be a dark purple with spots of Secondary hues (blue and red).
I didn't want to really replicate an amethyst :) I just wanted to make a purple crystal shape. I sculpt these for artworks I make and so I just go for the colors I want.
Stephanie, I’ve never seen this technique before, very cool! You have a very soothing voice and it’s always nice to watch your videos!😃 I’m new to polymer clay and learning quite a bit from your tutorials, thank you 😃
This is the first time I have watched you and I fast forwarded to the part where you were talking about blades and It sounded so much like you self harmed
yeah, but no. I'm truly sorry many have been triggered by this, but it never crossed my mind when making the video. I cut myself by accident, which is not fun, but that's about it.
as an artist, this is infuriating. Not because there is anything wrong with it, but becayse its TOO DAMN PERFECT THIS IS SO AMAZING YOU HAVE SO MUCH TALENT AGHHHH
Lovely, though ... minerals are not organic. Organic implies it came from a living organism! I think the word you might be looking for would be 'natural.' :3
For something to be considered 'organic' in Chemistry, it must contain Carbon. Most minerals (that aren't elemental, for example, Sulfur) contain Carbon. But you are right in that something from a living organism is organic (because it contains Carbon). It would just be the more Biology-related use of the word. Don't forget to thank your local Carbon atoms for making up nearly everything in the universe. ~ciao
This isn't chemistry. Organic, in this context, refers to something looking natural, as opposed to artificial or designed. For example, curves, variability, and irregular textures or patterns are traits that might make something look organic. This is not some weird term she's using. It is a common way to refer to a broad aesthetic in English. Cute faces don't hide the smart-ass nature of your comment.
Who was this to? I was just replying to the "minerals are not organic" bit, so if I came off as harsh I didn't mean to. (But yes when used in a way to describe something naturally shaped, organic would be the right word).
***** My comment was primarily to the OP, but additionally to all like-minded persons. Now, if only you could have read my comment and thought about it prior to replying, we wouldn't be wasting space with these worthless repetitions.
About the "organic mineral", since so many think they know everything better. Although, I used that word in a non scientific way and more an artistic one, Organic is not necessarily biogenic (made from life processes). And yes some minerals are organic, if bound to a carbon atom and bioavailable (magnesium, zinc, etc.) www.eidon.com/understanding-minerals-organic-vs-inorganic/ www.healthylife.net.au/healthy-you/wellbeing-lifestyle/organic-and-inorganic-minerals-what-s-the-difference/ Also kinda related ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QOCaacO8wus.html
Truly beautiful! This was a delight to watch. I have never tried my hand at polymer clay, but I am definitely tempted now. I will be checking out your other videos, thank you for sharing! :)
I felt absolutly in love with this type of creation! I have done it for the second time tonight. And I think this just the beginning ! I just saw the mushroom tutorial and this was fascinating. I just love your work! And your tutorials ! ;)
