My daughters and I have 4 Pomskies between us. The F1 is 7 and weighs 20#. My 2 from Pomsky Northerns are F3's and are 19# and 15#. Same parents but built differently. My 2nd daughter's from Pomsky Northerns had different parents and is 15#. We love our Pomskies. Much of this is true for ours. We live in Florida and Hawaii. Grooming is important due to the thick coats. Make sure to buy from a Pomsky Owners Association breeder who are responsible and who do genetic testing. All can have separation anxiety, but luckily I am retired. My girl looks like the laphund that the breed was based off. All are beautiful!
The Pomsky makes great door greeters! I work at a small prototype shop and my girl gets to come to work with me. All of our customers and delivery drivers LOVE her. The husky side is very friendly, and sees all people as potential friends if you socialize them right. Unfortunately, she is developing separation anxiety since she's by my side 24/7. Also, they are very stubborn with potty training. I highly recommend crate training to help with potty training.
Love my Pomsky Clover. He is smart and loyal. He does get anxiety when we are not home. We bought for my daughter who is special ed and they are the best of friends.
We have a Pomski, who will be 2 yrs old in Dec. We love our girl, who is sweet & a great dog. She also has a pry instinct, typical of her Husky dad. She is still destructive & loves to pull the stuffing out of chairs (on the porch), comforters and dog beds. She’s bigger then we expected at 45 lbs. Was told, when we bought her at 8 wks, she wouldn’t be much bigger then her mom at 27 lbs. She towered over our Pom, who we just lost 2 weeks ago, but they were the best of friends. Sky Blu is such a great companion. I choose her over the other puppies because when I picked her up, she laid her head on my shoulder. Except for the holes all over the yard and torn up flower beds, she’s really a great dog.
Oh my gosh, inherently I feel I shouldn't support breeding...some people don't have any business w/that much responsibility, then putting more value on one dog over another, esp when so many end up in shelters and a lot worse...while working at a no-kill animal shelter yrs ago, mgr was anti-breeders & I agreed. To say if there were no breeders or pure breed dogs, folks would adopt from a shelter instead doesn't even add up. Anyway, these dogs, with their lil half legs, are cute as shit!

Some people really are only in it for the money, when I was looking to adopt my now pomsky dog, I saw other people have other dog adoption fees for upwards of $10,000 usd… where as I adopted my almost 3 year old pomsky for $100… the the greed there from the other people was appalling
@@karenstasik2979 i read another comment about a mother and daughter having 4 of them. It sounds like a wide variety but the seperation anxiety is a no for me, we had a husky mix and he had it BAD
@@brooke7464 I actually waited until I retired to get my first pomsky. I knew for my daughter's dog it would not be good to have any type of Separation during the day. And I saw her brother who was the last of the litter and I couldn't help myself because I love her so much. I have not regretted getting either of them. I'm not saying they're perfect, but their personalities are hard to beat.
@@karenstasik2979 we had a husky blue heeler mix, even if my mom was on the other side and he could see her due to the glass he had extreme anxiety. Do you think a 3rd or 4th generation with more pom added could work ? I'm partial to Spitze and hounds. Beagles are a no for me, they have a habit of hanging themselves.
there is almost no possibility to fix health issues of pure breed dogs, especially very small ones, without outcrossing them with other breeds. pure breed got itself into a genetaical dead end, where incest has become the reason of most issues. the pomsky is actually exactly such an outcrossing, wich tends to minimize issues of both breeds. while the pomerian can have problems with its too big eyes and its knees and the husky can show problems with its hips and elbows, the pomsky tends to show less of all of those, IF(!!!) the parents are properly examined by a vet. this is also true for character, where the barking of the pomeranian and the hunting drive of the husky are surely present in the pomsky, but way better manageable. outcrossing will be the future of responsible breeding, the average incest coifficient of pure breed dogs reached 25% in europe, which simply means, any two dogs of the same breed are related like brother and sister. and as long breeding associations condemn outcrossing, this will only get worse.
