Old generation of Nurses went through so much of hardships in USA. BECAUSE OF THEIR COMMITMENT MILLIONS OF THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS WAS ABLE TO COME TO USA. A BIG SALUTE TO ALL OF THEM.
There are many women went for nursing from center travancore. They took their family members also different countries. Many stayed single as it was difficult to get groom. Today everybody and anybody is going for nursing
I listened to your life story with great interest Ms. Unnithan. What a wonderful and hardworking lady you are! I just wanted to let you know that I was a medical student at Patna Medical College from 1960 to 1965 and did my residency there in Ob Gyn under Dr. Kamala Achari. You may remember her. I also came to USA in 1972 and now live in Tampa . Your story is very inspiring for the younger generation and so happy to hear about your life. I am from Adoor and went to north India for college and medical school after finishing high school in Adoor. Maybe our paths crossed in PMCH some time!

It is somewhat my life. Childhood and further life. Left kerala in 71 got a govt. job and progressed in life. Now settled with children. Gods blessings that I feel in my life. I am thankful to god and my parents and as well as those who helped in my life journey.
