Nice video, this isn’t hard to do for anyone looking to do this. Look up on the g8 board, HOW TO Guide: DIY VIM unlock, enable factory reverse cam for V9, and other radio tweak, this will get you started on the radio portion(which you have to unlock this feature), for the connection part to the Apple tv, it will be under the glove box next to the radio, again search the g8 board and you will figure this out. lets say I want to get my main screen back to control the air conditioner, to see outside temps, and or having the clock displayed for example, would my music stop playing? I would assume not, but I'd like to know any limitations before I go through the work.
I have the same screen, and I want to run the iPhone on the screen and do not know the pieces necessary to explain that I needed for the installation of the pieces
Nice. Is that the stock screen as well? Crazy the screen has that kind of quality capabilities and they loaded it wish such a plain setup / no nav or goodies. A how to?
Look up android mini pc, or use Google chromecast with an HMI to A/V cable. You have more than a few better options than having to use a router in your glove box.
Yes with the mini PC. I retract my comment about chromecast though, I have one on my TV and it's not great. I've recently been seeing indash monitors with androit kitkat already installed and it seemed much better than using the mini PC, since the few external buttons allow you to easily switch what features your using. Google Android indash and youll no doubt find more than a few good ones under 400.
If you already have an indash monitor, you'll have to use the android mini pc and to get connection to it you'll need to purchase a mobile hot spot dongle or use your cellphones tethering. If you don't already have an indash monitor I would suggest getting an indash with an android operating system already installed, again you'll have to either use a mobile Internet dongle or tether it to your phones Internet.
