This was a fantastic Aussie team with great players! If you can't admire the brilliance of the way these guys played their cricket then you need to have your head checked.
That's what was so great and remarkable about the Aussie team back then! 2 things which stand out for me then was yes they lost fewer games than any other teams, and even the games which they lost were no easy wins for the opponents. They made them earn real hard. Second thing was they reserved their best for the big games. Be it the world cup finals and semis or the big sessions in test cricket where they really set up the tone. People remember the 2005 ashes series as the most competitive and hard fought, quality series but what's standout is how that proud aussie team bounced back. And they bounced back and how ! Drubbing them 5-0 the very next year absolutely amazing!
That's the difference between Australia and English cricket,Australia will always go for the win even if it means losing, where England would rather play for a draw.
England now play (especially in white ball cricket) with a never say die and absolutely fearless attitude where they’ll give it their all with the bat to get 350+ everyday and not give a damn for the one in ten occasion when they get bowled out for a 100. They do the same in bowling in white ball cricket, attacking fields, leg spin, swing at the top, middle overs hit the deck pace enforcers ( yikes they’re gonna get Jofra Archer by the World Cup), marauding allrounders, the most dynamic wicket keeper batsman in the modern game. I mean if I gave you that team description over the last 100 years before the 2015 wc, the only country that would come to mind would start with a.
And here we have Australia, all bout that sweet elite honesty. Scoring at three an over in the power play (in each game of a series, not a one off) and batting conservatively from overs 40-45. I mean we’re living in Bizarro times
I'm glad we came up on top. One of the things I hated about test cricket a few years ago and one of the reasons I think it was in such a decline was there was a lot of teams that would bat for draws or bat for time very often. They would put themselves in a position where they couldn't lose before trying to win which promotes some really really dull cricket. Thankfully now days I think thats for the most part far less prevalent and because of that Test cricket is exciting again. Watching India or SA or Aus especially I think. And I'd like to think its games like Amazing Adelaide where they draw that inspiration never giving up the fight or saying its over till the last run is scored or the last wicket is taken.
I think I remember that exact test match because it was one of his first series as Captain and I just remember thinking "I don't reckon Clarke or Ponting would of looked to be this defensive in his field placings." they just stopped chasing wickets after a good long while. But yeah fair enough maybe.
Really.... I think no.... That's the part of the game..... Every team does that..... But AUSSIES are said like that while they are playing any kind of formats around the world....
Flintoff was the wrong choice of captain for England in Vaughn's injured absence. Andrew Strauss should have been captain, as he had led England well for a 3-0 win against a decent Pakistan team in the previous English home summer of 2006. Among other things, Flintoff just allowed Harmison to be slack and lazy.
kya junoon haii test cricket jetne ka yesa attitude ab nahi dhikta kisi team me India me attitude to haii test jetne ka lekin sirf bato me hi attitude haii result and performance me nahi India bahut sare Australia team ko pasand nahi karte because wo cheatting karte haii lekin ye Sab bato ka koi matlab nahi haii kyuki Australia player khuch bhi kare lekin wo result hamesha dete haii aur result hi Maine rakhta haii Australian team ka attitude sabse accha attitude haii
Aus XI for this test was possibly the strongest team ever, 1. J. Langer 2. M. Hayden 3. R. Ponting (c) 4. D. Martyn 5. M. Hussey 6. M. Clarke 7. A. Gilchrist (wk) 8. S. Warne 9. B. Lee 10. S. Clark 11. G. McGrath
I mean the Poms would have done worse had they tried to be aggressive and gone for the win, so being defensive was the best thing for them but even then they perished
