Last month a work buddy took me fishing to his favorite reef about 6 miles off shore. It blew my mind how many pontoon boats were lined up way out there! Maybe you can't sink a pontoon, but you and everything on it can come back soaked.
Pontoons are out in CLAM WATER!!!! Not this kind of chop!!!! Heck if I owned one and seen that chop even on a fresh water lake, that sucker would be on the lift dock!! Think a car lift you use to work under a car, but it is made to lift boats out of water that likes to ice up in the winter....
I have traveled around the US, and I seen how some folks drive there cars on the road.... I kinda wonder how much of humanity has any brains at all... Like a friend was driving his truck and had about a 8 foot trailer behind him... A lady pulls out of a store parking lot, cuts off 2 cars then tries to drive threw my friends truck to get into the far lane that was clear of traffic.... *chuckles at the memory and shakes my head*
But ultimately you will rip away everything above the deck... I have seen it. Once you tear off the little helm station all the engine controls and electrics are gone...
Broncos, take a look at the quad-toon that "B-is-for-Build" is putting together on his channel. A 40 footer with a sunken in hot tub in the bow. THAT might be able to handle Haulover on a day like this one was.
I’ve watched your channel with my family for over a year now and it would really mean a lot to us if you were recording Saturday morning so we could be on the show we are going to the Bahamas from haulover and it would be very cool if we were on the show😂
Hell yea. First capt did it right. Dangerous situation, get it out of it, then figure out what to do and who is hurt. Just like airplane capt, rule number one is aviavte.
Is that one of the Blue Top gals capping the last pontoon? Looks like it, and cap did about as well as can be expected in a pontoon. I'm a big fan of pontoons on lakes and the right ones can even handle tougher lakes like LOTO. But they really have no business offshore. And certainly not trying to come through Haulover.
The H scores a solid win in 8 seconds, and it's not even a big day. As for pontoons, there are pontoons, and there are pontoons. The party barges got no business challenging the H unless it's glass. The racers? They can apparently play. Thus, a second party barge with 150 total HP is a guaranteed win for the inlet, but we knew that going in.
