After much research (so many people online complaining their heaters started leaking in 1-2 months!) I thought it would be best to put the heater before the chlorinator due to the corrosive nature of the chlorine, but you are the only one I've come across to specifically point it out and even suggest a check valve. Thank you this was very helpful.
You've probably already found out, but you don't want to be running full flow through your heat pump. You'll only get good efficiency with a specific temperature drop between inlet and outlet which will be listed in the specifications, so normally you'd install a bypass kit across the heat pump to divert most of the flow.
I'm think about this heat pump. your setup looks good. i would like to know what the water temp is that is getting sucked into he return and what the water temp is on the pipe that is coming back to the Pool. Also, I would recommend you burry the pipes so that no one can trip. Thanks for your video.
I think I have the same heater, a 20000 BTU model. Mine is branded Doel. The instructions for the control panel are terrible. Do you have a source for more detailed info. Were you able to switch yours to F from C?
I was thinking of this heat pump too. Either that or the fh135. I only have 110v going out to my pool so I have to get a smaller heater. My pool is 24foot round though and I know it's technically too big for this pump, but my pool is freezing and gets no sun. How many gallons is your pool and do you recommend this heater? Thanks for the instructional video!
