Pool Lessons | Stun Run-Through | Correct Your #Stroke | Part 3
The third and final video in my #Stun #Run-through series tackles the issue of veering off the line. This shot can be used as a tool yet again by analyzing where your cue ball ends up after the shot. I look at three reasons why the cue ball veers off the line after the contact. Use these reasons to diagnose your stroke. It will help your game.
If by chance you negotiated to this video first I would ask that you watch the first two videos of the series first. There's oodles of useful tips that are necessary in understanding the shot before you watch this video.

Great video! I get a lot of english artifacts in my stroke a lot because I'm not focused on hitting exactly where I want to hit it (done drills but when ur actually shooting, there's a million places the mind can go except where you're hitting). I like how you broke it down into a few reasons of what they could be. Thanks for the upload man! Keep em comin!

Right on the money with this. I find I'm consistent at just over 1/2 the table distance . Going to 3/4 of the table I'm off line a bit. I've gone back to my Rempe cue ball and I'm trying to dissect my flaws.

Smaller tip means there's a much smaller part of the cue ball that's center ball for you. You get way more incidental side spin with a smaller shaft diameter. This is why the older wood shafts that were low deflection were around 12.75 mm with their end of the shafts hollowed out. If just reducing end mass was the whole deal we'd be playing with 10 mm shafts like snooker players. But on the flip side a snooker shaft gets way more action than any wood pool shaft could produce. I've personally always have played with a 12.5 mm shaft. Even now I play with a 12.5mm carbon fiber shaft. But I've tested a lot of carbon fiber shafts and the smaller shaft sizes doesn't affect them as much as in wood shafts. My break cue has a 13mm xlr8 carbon fiber break shaft and it's as low deflection as my playing cue. It does have the guy who made it lexan custom tip feral combo on it. The shaft is out right amazing. Jumps as well as any shaft on the market. Breaks with as close to the power as any shaft on the market and the tip will give you the action of any playing tip. But it is quite bit louder than most tips. I'd actually bet their 12.9 mm carbon fiber shaft is almost the same deflection as the 11.8mm shaft your using. I love my 12.5mm shaft. But I'll say if I bought my cue now I'd probably would have went with the 12.9mm

Yeah it's a journey. I still want to try a 12.9. Like you, I've used a 12.5 for decades with my Huebler...but that was low deflection. I changed up a lot at once and it's been fun. But I'm trying to sift through my results. Thanks for all the info you gave on these coments man. You've learned a lot over the years haven't you?! ✌️👍

I would be curious to measure the Huebler shaft, could be 13mm.

@@HereAfterBilliards lol ya well it's like I always heard. If you practice for hours everyday then there's a lot of good that comes with the smaller diameter shafts. But you have to shoot all the time to use anything under 12mm for most of us. 12.5mm is as small as I'd go without playing everyday. But in the world of carbon fiber there's a even smaller benefit to the smaller shafts. Now that's enough for semipro or professionals but for us mere mortals probably not. All that being said I know guys that have only played pool with under 12mm shaft that can't play with anything else. I've went as low as 11.5mm with a conical taper when I was young and was playing all the time. But another 5hing that's funny was when I was young I liked a lot of flex in the cue but nowadays I prefer a stiff hit. As 8 gotten older I tend to do less with my stroke anyway. Although I will usually shoot a power draw or some force follow every once in awhile just to keep focused. I call it walking the dog. And I feel like if I intentionally play one of these shots every couple of racks I stay more engaged

@@YaworskiPoolPractice lol even if it started at 13mm I doubt that after 20 plus years a playing and cleaning that shaft is bigger than 12.5. probably closer 12mm

My old shon was a 13mm when I got it 25 years ago and last I checked it's barely 12mm now. I think it measures 12.16 last time I checked
