Hi Anita. I'm not understanding 100%. Yes, the timer has to be in the ON POSITION to turn the pump on. I don't understand when you say the middle. You can email me john@poolguyfl.com if you want to explain more detail. The timer is also not exact like a digital clock. Sometimes it takes 15-20 minutes to completely turn ON because the pins that say ON & OFF are thick and the timer needs to go completely through the entire pin to trip it ON. I hope that makes sense.

@CoElysian. I would start by putting that back. A regular cross/philips screwdriver should tighten that back down. Make sure that the time hand is pointing straight down the way it's supposed to be. If that doesn't help you could simply replace the ON/OFF pins with new ones to see if that makes a difference

@poolguyfl it was still screwed on just not facing down so I just turned it to point as staight down as I can get it. See if that does anything. I'll keep you updates

@poolguyfl pointing it down didn't seem to make the on tripper work. Still need to do ot manually every day. Off tripper works though

@@CoElysian I would recommend trying to replace to "ON" tripper by itself. amzn.to/3PHXqzl Above is a link a pair of only the ON & OFF trippers. Try that first and if that doesn't work most likely you have to replace the timer
