Did you know you can make washing soda at home? Just put regular baking soda on an old cookie sheet, bake at 425 degrees for an hour or so until is grainy like washing soda.
Oh my gosh, Tessie. I was just thinking I needed to look up your laundry soap recipe and here is a video on it -just like magic! I just finished radiation and chemotherapy for cancer and I’ve vowed to be more mindful of not just the foods I eat but the chemicals I use on my clothes and body and house cleaning. I’m am so grateful for all of your really great content and even more grateful for coincidence 😂 thanks for all you do Tessie!
Laundry soap is not the same as laundry detergent. Be sure to look at your manual and warranty for your high efficiency washing machines. It could negate your warranty and gum up your pipes.
I took your previous recipe and make 5 gallons with 1 bar fels naptha, washing soda, plain salt (not iodized) thanks to Heidi @raincountry. I like borax for my husband's work stains, so I add that too. I love this mix. You do have to stir it every hour or it gels up. I use a paint mixer on the drill. 😉 💚🌞
Tessie, you never cease to amaze me. 😊 You know, specialty laundry soaps are really a thing right now. So many shops that sell them, but the prices are astronomical! Thank you for showing us how to make this wonderful soap. Love the containers you put them in too. Just the the shops, but for a fraction of the cost and not all those additives.
I make this soap for our family. Nice that you are using your stash of expired rose water up. We also use Ivory bar soap. 3 gallons go a long way. Thank you, Tessie!
Love how you printed labels and how nice it looks. Maybe, just maybe, setting your eyes upon the labeled bottles makes laundry time more pleasant. Nice to visit with you once again. ❤
Good Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Tuesday filled with Gods Joy and Happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all :-) Keep Smiling be safe :-)
As offgriddivibg said I too have made my own washing soda, putting baking soda on a cookie sheet in the oven. Where I used to live they didn't sell it and I needed it to make your other soap recipe a few years ago. Thanks for this new one though, I can't wait to try it! I got 10 bars. in original cellophane, (it was old) at a estate sale for 1.00! Kimberly how is your mom doing? Hope she iis better. Have a blessed evening everyone.❤❤😊😊
Hi Tessie! I’ve made laundry soap in the past, but never without borax (which may have been what was irritating my skin). I’m going to give your recipe a try. Thank you for all you do! ❤
@@HomesteadTessie Thank you so much. I can't wait to make this. I am trying to teach my grandchildren some of the old ways of living. They are 7, 5 and 4. I am writing down everything I can for them. Thank you for all the things you teach us. God Bless you and your family.
Tessie, I just love how you make that laundry soap good for any clean up job love the clear labels too looks great :-) Love you my Sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)
Good Evening Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Be sure to hit that like button Tessie will appreciate it Greatly also be sure to watch all the ads :-)
It all depends on how hard your water is if you want a more thinner consistency it will make 5 gallon if you don't mind it being thicker and you have to shake it every time you use it at 3 gallon
I love the labels. They look fabulous! I might have missed it, but, how much do you use for a load of laundry? Thank you very much for sharing this with us.
Tessie I used to make laundry soap like that and mine would gel up, was wondering does your recipe for laundry soap gel up? I don't know what I was doing wrong. Thank you for sharing.
This recipe doesn't gel up like the other ones used to the reason why it gels up means you're not adding enough of water to it it can depend on if your water is really hard or if you have soft water depending on the water that you use in the minerals that's in your water
@@HomesteadTessie Thank you for answering my question . I am going to try your recipe . Tessie you will be saving me big bucks . Thanks and big hugs.Like watching your videos . Have a good rest of your week. GBY
I liked this video I've never seen anyone make soap before.. So yeah thank you for showing it from start to finish..hope you do more just like this one! God bless Tessie
I was told that using homemade soap in a HE washer, voids all warranties. The new washing machines don’t use as much water during a washing cycle as the older machines. This can cause problems with some soap. I found that it leaves residue on the clothes. I wish I could override the water volume but can’t.
I really enjoy the smell of roses too! I bought some Rose shampoo after you said you had some! It smells so nice! Thank you for sharing. God bless you and everyone here 😊❤
I bet that smells ans works great! Do you have a recipie for a stain remover? P.s. Hubby has been put back on the ventalator, and is being kept out cold, since Wenesday. I hope he can get off of it ,a wake up, mabey tomarrow? I am still hopeful. Watching your videoe's is brnging me peace . Tessie, you really are a blessing in my life. Thank you for being you...🐞
Hello Xyladivine😊, There Is 'ALWAYS HOPE' My Friend. Continuing Prayers For Your Husband And Yourself. Praying That He Will Wake Up Soon. Hold On In There And Thank You For Keeping Us Updated. We Are All Rooting For Your Husband! GOD Bless, Andrea
You inspired me to make my own laundry soaps and I have been pretty relaxed on the recipe. It's working well and we aren't having skin allergies to the homemade soap. So much cheaper and we aren't wasting all that plastic anymore.
You are a smart woman you remind me of my mom she loved ivory and bograx borax and lux with the free glass or cup in the laundry soap box I remember I was kid luv pa 🌼🏵️💮❤️🌺🌻🌹🌷🌸
