Recently, after becoming incredibly fed up at my job that I’ve been at for some time, I decided to use most of my time off I was saving up for no reason, and take a long trip across my country to improve my mental health, find myself, and hopefully figure out what I wanted to do with my future. This song, unknowingly at the beginning, became a huge part of that trip. It came on shuffle in my playlist a few times, and I would play it again and again while flying down open stretches of road through gorgeous countryside. It’s not my favorite song, but it tapped into happiness that I have not felt in a long time, I guess it kinda did have me feeling like I was doing 100 in a 55. Thanks Pop Evil.
my DAD passed away 9/29/16 and I still can't get over it and I am still in disbelief I can't believe he is gone I'm not saying you can get over it or it will get better because it won't but I'm saying you need to be strong and think and pray about it and let God have the wheel my dad dedicated the song 100 in a 55 to me and I cry every single time I hear it just know people love you
I lost my cousin tragically a while back. We were close. Gone away by the Offspring was that way for me for a long time. Still can't listen to that song without thinking of him.
Seen these kids numerous times in the past decade. Doing rock VERY well. Michigan is proud of you. And so are the other 49 states. Thanks for warming up 3DD at St Augustine. That was an awesome time.
Katherine Ryan An Alaskan woodpecker and a Texan woodpecker were in Texas arguing about which state had the toughest trees. The Texan woodpecker claimed Texas had a tree that no woodpecker could peck. The Alaskan woodpecker accepted his challenge and promptly pecked a hole in the tree with no problem. The Texan woodpecker was amazed. The Alaskan woodpecker then challenged the Texan woodpecker to peck a tree in Alaska that was absolutely 'impeckable' (a term frequently used by woodpeckers). The Texan woodpecker expressed confidence that he could do it and accepted the challenge. The two of them flew to Alaska where the Texan woodpecker successfully pecked the so-called 'impeckable' tree almost without breaking a sweat. Both woodpeckers were now terribly confused. How is it that the Alaskan woodpecker was able to peck the Texas tree, and the Texan woodpecker was able to peck the Alaskan tree, yet neither was able to peck the tree in their own state? After much woodpecker pondering, they both came to the same conclusion: Apparently, the farther from home you are, the harder your pecker gets..."
Nearly a decade after my fiancée died and this song still helps break me from the annual grieving. It'll be a rough 3 months, but I'm sure I'll pull through like I have for the past 9 years. Hopefully this is the year I can find the next love of my life.
This is why I like these guys, they make songs about such relatable topics, and it can make me think of my own life and strive to make it better. The way I see it, Pop Evil is a thinking man's music.
It also works well as a depressed person's music. I've been through plenty- bullying, death, abuse... but everything's just a little better when I hear a Pop Evil song.
I've been a fan and supported this band since they were playing nightclubs and bars in Grand Rapids and Muskegon Michigan many years ago. I saw them live for the first time in a while last weekend at Rock on the Range and I was very impressed by how far they have come. I'm proud to be a Pop Evil fan. And to those who don't like Pop Evil, it's okay. We all have our own opinions. That's why there is more than one band in the world.
Were they on the free beer and hot wings show when they showcased local bands for a very short while?? I thought I remembered hearing of them on there. Same with the band " Wayland" 2 super good bands in my opinion.
Thanks for the great love and support you show me as a special fan of mine, I hope you won't stop listening to music, and thanks for your sincere Compliment and love towards my music 🙏
@@mattdirito3062 My sister Stacy McClellan loved you all. Far and above her favorite band. She went to a ton of shows and spent time backstage with you often as well. Her most prized possession was a piece of the drums signed by all the band. She passed 8-15-2014. I know you may not see this and that’s ok. I just wanted to let you know how special you made her life. And how much your music keeps me connected to her today. You all made great songs a special band indeed. Much love to you for bringing that kind of connection. I play a 100 in a 55 whenever I want to say hi to her in heaven and I know she hears it. Probably saying that a way bro. Rock was never my favorite. But you guys definitely converted me for many reasons. All the best to everyone.
This was my sisters favorite band she saw them many times in person and spent a lot of time with them backstage. I listen to this song often. I think she liked this one the best. It’s a kick ass song. I miss ya sis. RIP 8-15-2014
I love it when I stumble back onto great songs like this one years later! It still hits the same! Life is a struggle, but as long we keep doing 100 in a 55, we can keep pushing on!
Still a banger in 2023 just had a friend say he was partying with the band just last night and it has been well over a decade ago since I heard this song and remembered it instantly
Reminds me of the last Christmas I ever spent with my uncle before he passed we sat on the couch, just me and him, for over 5 hours just playing guitar and singing songs. This is the one that reminds me of him the most. Fly high Jordan❤️
I say i cant take anymore but i sit here and take it as in rolls in like the tasmanian devil. My emotions right now are all over the place. Why do i feel these emotions at this level. Like i cant breathe....
Pop Evil will always be my favorite rock band no matter how old I get. My mom used to be close friends with Leigh Kakaty and all the original band members when they used to play at local bars and concerts in Michigan. Almost everyday I listened to their music when my mom had it on CD or on her IPod, I absolutely love their music. When my mom would see the band, they always asked my mom how I was doing and even though I haven't met any of the original members or Leigh in person it was nice and made me feel happy that they asked my mom how I was doing. Keep going guys and I hope to see you in concert one day in my life time.
Damn bro, lost your job, your girl leaves you, and then your new truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere, ALL IN THE SAME DAY! lol! Now that's rock n' roll!
I remember seeing these guys all the time at the Frog in Sault Ste Marie and thinking then they were phenomenal, so glad to see them doing well they deserve it!
I'm so glad I found this song. My wife left me because I was so into composing my music, and I have been playing for 10 years, so it's all I really know. I pray my music will save my soul too, but until then I'll just believe some things were just meant to be.
I'm a newbie to this band, about 18 months? I discovered some of there stuff when I was training for one of my long runs and never looked back!! Become a huge fan since and hope to see them soon!! Would love to just say thank you to them!! They've helped me in so many ways!!
Pop Evil is one hell of a band, so super terrific in Concert!!! Saw them Fall Ball in Tucson Arizona, 2013 and 2015... yes excellent we love you Pop Evil....
7 years ago this was our song.but today it's more us then ever... The last 2-3 years.I've put my wife threw HELL and she is still by my side.. I was doing 100 in 55 every day slowly killing us and our family And myself... Today marks 21 days clean and sober... Thanks to my wife and this song... I wake up listening to this song... I listen to it threw out the day and go to sleep listening to it.. So thank you for the song and my wife that I live another day... This time clean and sober... My higher power is my wife and family and this song it's so us...
these dudes come from a little town in western michigan on the shores of lake Michigan.NOT grand rapids NOT Detroit no where else then MUSKEGON and WHITEHALL Michigan.fact! learn love it live it.
It's true, Matt and Tony (former lead guitarist) are from Muskegon/Whitehall, but Leigh and Dylan (former drummer) are from Grand Rapids and Dave is from Traverse City area. I don't remember where Chachi (former drummer) was from other than he is a Michigan boy, but Nick (current lead guitarist) is from Pittsburgh and Hayley is from the UK.
The only good thing about Michigan is the outdoors, the Western upper peninsula is among the most majestic places I've ever seen... Lake of the clouds in iron mountain will leave you speechless.
Met this band before they got big, got their signatures on their first album's case. It's so awesome to watch a band get huge and popular before your eyes :')
I'm 30 and heard this song the first time when I was 15 me and my wife just split up relapsed and messed up my probation and may be looking at 6 years o well I'll carry on crazy how this just popped up brought me back down my childhood
Everybody can relate to this song, It for me is like a break up song from yrs back! Other wise a song about saving something with speed, after all who hasn't done a 100 in a 55 at least ounce? A lot of people take there aggression out on there vehicle with speed! Awesome song great lyrics!
I bet, I had a couple for doing 90! I've done a lot fasters, just never got ticketed for it. Live and learn. Speeding kills and it's best not to take the chance even if your upset you vehicle doesn't need the abuse!
I have never heard a bad song by these guys, been hooked since last man standing!! Lyrically I can relate, musically gets my ass rocking!! Long live Pop Evil
Thanks for the great love and support you show me as a special fan of mine, I hope you won't stop listening to music, and thanks for your sincere Compliment and love towards my music 🙏
This came out around the time my first son was born. I sang it to him all the time, then a few years later to his brother, and a few years after that the youngest. Now I perform it sometimes at Open Mic nights. Will always have a special place in my heart.
Greetings from your old CTO of Luthier Society who got you guys amazing airplay in 08-09 and still love this song as it brightens up my day. Hope you all are doing well and I still think it is a shame I never got to meet you all. Keep on rockin'!!!!
Deal with the Devil was the first song I heard from Pop Evil. I was so impressed I had to buy Onyx and I was blown away! They are one of the best bands out in recent years! Just great Rock N Roll.
