Rarely a day goes by that I don't listen to Du Hast!... And, like today, when I say 'listen', I'm not talking just the once! Usually at least three times... Listening and watching on youtube! Du hast mich!!!
The lead singer is a perfectionist, so everything is carefully timed. He became a licensed pyrotechnician after a piece of the set fell into the crowd. He didn't want it to happen again, so he took it into his own hands. All the "sweat" you see on them is flame retardant that helps keep them from getting burned. Though they did get badly burned while filming the video for "Feuer Frei" because the director put the pyro too close to the band. I read a story from Joe Letz, his drummer for his solo project Lindemann. There's a roadie/set tech that travels with them named Manu. Till's been friends with him for years. Joe was watching them from back stage, and Till just completely broke character, ran up, and shoved Manu off the stage, into the crowd, about a six foot drop. Joe thought he'd lost his mind. 30 seconds later, a burst of flame shot up from the floor exactly where Manu was standing. Probably would have severely injured or killed him. Till had the pyro memorized and got his friend out of the way just in time.
I saw a clip once where Till was singing and frantically waving at one of the guitarists because he was about two steps too far forward and would have caught a face full of flames. Till himself couldn’t move to push him back because he himself was stuck where he was by more pyro. Luckily he noticed and stepped back in time.
@@realburglazofficial2613 he looks out for his people. Flake gave an interview in honor of Till's 60th tomorrow and he talked about how he treats the band and the crew. He's happier to throw a party for the crew than be the center of adoring fans and he's given up the rights to his lyrics so the whole band can take credit and get paid equally.
They don't get burnt or singed as much as it may seem (at least compared to past), lead singer Till Linderman is a certified pyrotechnician and he specifically learned it after he did get singed in the past. They are very precise with their fireworks and effects and on several shows you can actually see how Till keeps an eye on band members when some special effect is about to go off. On one live show one of the guitarists was playing one step too close to the spot where fire was about to come out and could actually see Till signalling to him, that he needs to take a step back. Sadly can't recall which show it was. In any case, they pay attention to these effects, keep an eye on each other and Till keeps an eye on everyone, it's still quite hot where they are so they probably feel almost like cooked once show is over. But, Till still gets his fair share of bruises, he's headbutted mic stands and what not, even cut himself for the song. He goes all in, in his performance. Also that "blood" is actually gel which protects them, those flames are hot and they go off quite close. Area in front of their stage is even called "fire zone" because of that, in the past people who were there got even a wristband which had written on it something like "I was in Rammstein's fire zone and survived" or something like that. Don't know if these are still handed out nowadays, but a cool souvenir to have.
In a concert review, the critic said that Kiss (who are also known for their pyro show) seem like a child's birthday party with sparklers compared to Rammstein. I have seen Rammstein live four times. These concerts were the most amazing thing I've ever seen on stage.
I think what makes this concert video even more impressive is the fact that it is in Paris. Most French people do not speak German, and in fact there is still quite a bit of leftover stereotyping between France and Germany, yet this crowd sings the fully German lyrics perfectly, by heart. Sing-alongs like this in a (very difficult) foreign language are amazing to me.
I don't speak German, but I know the words. At least I know what I think the words are. My guess is that while I am generally making the rights sounds, what I think the words are isn't orrect.
Hearing "Du Hast" for the first time is like flying for the first time that fighter jet after training in simulator. now you know what you´re dealing with. This is just the tip of the iceberg called rammstein.
Hey Blake. Great and professional reaction. If you want to see more crazy fire stuff, try the songs "Sonne" and "Rammstein" both live from Moscow and "Wollt ihr das bett in Flammen sehen" live from Paris (same show like this video). For official videos, I can suggest "Zeit", "Deutschland" and "Adieu". A must see. You will never be disappointed.
saw them live in august with my dad and they were incredible. du hast, sonne, mein teil, deutchsland and sehnsucht made the crowd chant so much even tho it was a french canadian crowd . it was truly an experience
They get burned all the time especially Till (the singer) but he has a thing for pain. He headbutts equipment at every show so that his forehead bleeds and for the Ich Tu Der Weh official video he chose to have the inside of his mouth lit up which looks very cool. Instead of running a flesh toned lighting cable down to the corner of his mouth he chose to pierce a large gauge hole in the middle of his cheek and fed a thick black cable in to it. It’s very visible in the video and it’s discussed in the making of video available on their RU-vid page. The man is hella dedicated!!
Oh and the banging on his knee with a fist is his signature move called a Till Hammer and it started after his knee popped out on stage so he hit it back in to place. The guitar player Paul told him it looked cool and to keep doing it 😂
fun fact every single time that rammstein plays du hast live they do that rocket shooter thing, its absolutely amazing live and the band trusts the crowd completely.
Oh yeah those overhead fireworks absolutely do go off inside 😆. It's so cool to see in person, you can also feel the heat from the flames. I can't even imagine what it's like to be onstage. Best live shows ever.
I went to see Rammstein in Montreal in August 2022 (rescheduled from 2020 and 2021). This concert was absolutely amazing and is now my absolute favorite concert out of over 2000 concerts I have been to. I didn't even have a great view of the stage and it was still incredible and the effects from all over the grounds of the venue were amazing.
It's not just about acknowledging credits...with Rammstein, (you said it right) the cinematography continues along with well-planned instrumentals that often wrap the story. And it's plain respectful to every artist! Thank you for making that change! Drummer, Christophe Schneider plays a custom DW Jazz Series kit w mixed sym. He gives the band a specific sound, and he's an absolute beast. Yes, the band began using pyro in the 90s and are known for it at live shows...and there have been many injuries despite using various flame retardants!
I saw them last Sept (2022) in San Antonio in the Alamo dome best live show I have ever seen and all those pyros indoors you could feel the heat of everyone as they went off.
the most impresive and the best pyrotechnical performance i have seen on and off screen, my best concert experiance ever was seeing them live in Tallin, Estonia summer of 2022
Honestly they have the BEST stage performance of any band Ive seen live BY FAR. They are so personable and amazing and it really translates in their live sets. I got to be in the "Fire" zone when I went to see them in Montreal, and trust me you can FEEL THE FIRE... INCREDDIBLE. ---Side note, they bring their whole stage setup with them EVERYWHERE... All of their outdoor performances, like the one I saw in Montreal use the EXACT same setup, stage, wiring, EVERYTHING.... Google what their cable management looks like for their tours... You can really tell theyve been doing this for a long time, and know what theyre doing too.
Hell yeah , hope you'll react to more Rammstein especially live performances. They have the best pyrotechnics and the most amazing live show . Their concerts are literally sold out within an hour. It's super difficult to get tickets
I loved your reaction to this performance, I'm kinda surprised you chose this song to react to just because they're German. To see them live is magnificent, you can literally feel the heat of the fire on you every single time is the best!
For me, this has to be the very best live performance and video Rammstein has produced. So good in fact, having this as my first exposure to the band got me instantly hooked and bought the new album days later - it's now my go to music for car journeys. Love this band. My only regret is discovering them at the age of 58.
Almost every song preformed live features insane, completely unique pyrotechnics. You’ll be amazed with each performance. If you want to continue down the rabbit hole of metal bands with mind melting stage shows, I highly suggest Ghost Love Score by Nightwish live at Wacken 2013. It’s actually the most reacted to song on RU-vid!
Thanks for another yt Rammstein reaction. It's always fun to see reactors experiencing them for the first time. Their performances are literally fire and Flake ( pronounced kinda like Flok-a ) on a treadmill is iconic. Enjoy the ride. Their Fire Frei official mv was filmed on location for the movie XXX, took something like 2 days to shoot, and the members were filmed with walls of fire closely in front of and behind them. Story goes it wasn't entirely safe. The band (lead singer Till primarily) are heavily involved in planning the pyrotechnics for all their live (and filmed) performances as well as the choreography because their pyro effects shoot up around them through the stage.
This popped up on my recommended, so I clicked because I saw Rammstein. I wanted to say about 4:04 where you're talking about their sound - I got my first Rammstein album (Sensucht) back in 1998. I learned about them from a soundtrack CASETTE (I'm old) that was given as a promotional item in the theatres for the soundtrack of Mortal Kombat Annihilation. So I noticed, even back then, that Rammstein's sound on their albums was so much crisper than any other band's albums. I don't know what it was about their production, but whoever was responsible for the mixing and the sound design was hella pro.
Its fricking amazing to watch others reaction to Flake on the treadmill or Till shoting this rockets over the crowd (and the explosion right after it). I have seen this so often, but it still catches me after 100 times. Great to see, i'm not alone there.
The really amazing fact about that crowd singing this song the way they did with him for me is, this crowd is mostly french people who are singing like this in german to a german band. Not that long ago nobody would be able to imagine this happening. Always remember that when you think about the EU, exactly this is why we need it.
I’m so glad you’re finally getting to rammstein! I grew up on them because of my dad and they are still one of my favorite bands that I always go back to
Try ESKIMO CALLBOY 'we got the moves' 'HYPA HYPA' 'Pump it' and many more available - Call it 'partycore' - some say 'Rammstein in funny' - great job btw.
I saw Rammstein live for the first time this year in September at the Alamodome in San Antonio TX and even though it was an enclosed space (limited pyro) it was still LOUD and you could still FEEL the HEAT 🥵 I wasn't in the actual Feuer Zone (I was standing right behind the gate that separates it)so I was close (but not close enough 😭) LoL 😂 Rammstein have AWESOME music videos but their LIVE Performances are AMAZING! 🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼💯💯❤️❤️
I seen them live in Minneapolis last year. If you can, go watch a concert. It’s amazing. The pyro is stupid crazy and toned down in America but it’s still awesome to see in person
One of the only groups where it is an absolute must that you watch BOTH the Official Live Video and the Official Music Video, because both will be master pieces .
Apparently Till Lindemann the singer of Rammstein is a pyrotechnician since 1996. After they included fire and explosive as an element of the stage show which resulted in injuries to fans and the musicians he acquired a so-called pyro certificate. 1996 at a concert in Berlin the stage caught fire and the crowd panicked. Fortunately there were only minor injuries.
Not completely true. I am a fan since 25 years. Well, they used fire already beforehand, and yes the accident happened, but no one panicked, because first of all, the band kept on playing and second, The vocalist Lindemann haloed the security with the insured once. From 5 or 6 injured only one had to stay in the hospital and I heard (this is something I do not know completely), that they were even going to the hospital to have a look how the people are doing. Please check the facts, before you are writing them. Here ist the link to the video of the accident: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CK1g7gwN-Ys.html The band got even criticised, because they continued to play, but I have to say BECAUSE OF THAT THE PEOPLE DID NOT PANIC. Also Lindemann apologises at the end of the song and asks if everyone is alright. This moment of apologise shows shortly the true personality of Mr. Lindemann. By the way, here is an little interview done at a Swedish TV Program, were he explains certain things: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uUkjov1tbAY.html They start up in Swedish, but when she talked to Till, they are talking in English, so anyone can understand it. Just a dude and his job. Enjoy your day/evening it depends were you are.
Actually Till is a pyrotechnician since 1989, he's actually an ENGINEER in pyrotechnics, as much as Flake is an engineer in electronics, hence the tesla coil above his keyboards.
@@christellemercier9019 Never heard, that he is it even since 1989 (but I was not all 25 years seeing all interviews they did). Can I read it somewhere? It would be nice to do so, because I do not like to give wrong news away. Until now I only heard and read 1996. The Interview is also from 1997, I did not see an earlier one, but who knows, what else he did behind the wall. From Flake I know that he was making tool there. From the Book of Till's father, that he was a carpenter in the GDR and from Paul, that Till was waving baskets. Of course the swimming Team was also on. He also was the drummer in "First Arsch" (Short for "Erste Autonome Randalier Schwerins). His daughter was born in 1985 and he raised her on his own, until she was 7 years old, but with his energy I would not wonder, if he did that as well.
@@andreagruber5813 Euh, I don't know if you can read French, but he started as a pyrotechnician actually, and he participated, as an assistant, in the bicentenary of French revolution, that's why he speaks a very goof French, and that's also actually why " Fruling in Paris" was written, because he did date a French girl during the 5 months preparation.
Loved your piece man. I am literally here now for your Rammstein Reacs. You have a large library of exciting and deep content to choose from. Personally I would love to see you do "Angst" next. So many cool videos to choose from for high production value and provocative visuals, not to mention legendary 'depth of sound.' Live performances are off the charts in production value. Hard to believe they have been together 30 years(ish) without a line-up change... I hope you get experience more from them soon.
Absolute delight to watch your reaction to the music and visuals. Both Rammstein's music videos and live performances are incredible, but the crowd reaction to their concerts is insane 😊
Rammsteins Live show is one of a kind! I've seen them once at a festival and once at their own show. The sound, the pyro, the lights and the mood is just.... perfection!
I attended the concerts in Codroipo and Turin, and I will be in Padova, live they are phenomenal, you feel that they give themselves to the public, I love their music
Saw them live last year and it was easily my favorite show I've been to. They love their pyrotechnics and it's definitely an experience to remember. You can feel the heat from all the fire. My only regret is not seeing them sooner. I've been a fan for many years.
New to your channel. Loved these two Rammstein reactions. I'm going to recommend something you're going to love and it will blow your mind. Bloodywood. It's Indian Folk Metal and it's some of the best music out there. Start with "Gaddaar" or "Aaj." Both are fire. I guarantee you'll love it. There's no way, as a music producer that you wouldn't love everything about this. It's time to go down the Bloodywood rabbit hole! Thank me later, lol.
I saw them inside the Alamodome in San Antonio this year, the pyro was so much more intense than even this. 60,000 seat sell-out and they not only had these stage explosions but also had speaker stands throughout the standing floor area with pyro that exploded out of the top of them. An amazing spectacle that they keep making bigger every tour. Bring earplugs.
I was at this show in paris at First Row , maybe the most hottest show ever ! At the end security give to the first row stickers “I SURVIVE FIRST ROW AT RAMMSTEIN”. You need to see Angel , Pu$$y and Ich tu dir weh . And in French you need to react to Mylène Farmer “Avant que l’ombre” in Bercy , maybe the most beautiful closure to a show ever !
I heard that Till shouted "Chantez!" into the audience only during one performance. The video as a whole was edited from both performances and footage from the rehearsal.
Rammstein’s stage show puts others to shame, have been to 2 live shows with them and both were awesome. I would like to see you react to JINJER - Pisces (Live Session) | Napalm Records
This was filmed back in 2012 I do believe. This is nothing compared to what they do now. I recommend you check out DU hast and/or Sonne from the 2022 US tour. I was able to see them in Philly and it was incredible
Flake (their keyboardist) has been on a treadmill since their first major concert tour stage set was built, and has been a feature on each new stage set, since then. the electrical arc is CGI, added in post. Impressed by the pyro involved, here? Check out the live performance for their song, Feuer Frei. No other band uses as much fire, or as big of explosions during a concert, as Rammstein does. There is nothing else like them, on stage.
If you ever get the chance to see Rammstein live, do so. They are absolutely epic. If you want to see some incredible music that includes many more instruments, I would suggest taking a look at Hiroyuki Sawano's Project【emU】 “Attack on Titan” suite
