So bizarre because popcorn kernels are one of the cheapest things on the planet you can buy per pound, it is probably even cheaper for a theater because they buy a bunch of those huge bags.
@@nslouka90 I believe the ticket sales go to the film company and the popcorn sales (consession stand)are what keeps the theater open. A super high profit margin. Oh, the butter flavor? You don't want to know.
Who ever discovered popcorn was on some good as weed and we’re hungry af they just randomly got a handful of kernel slapped on a pan of oil heat it up and ate the results
I hope you're not eating too much of microwave popcorn. The chemical "butter" flavoring they use on the inside of microwave popcorn bags is really toxic if you inhale a lot of it. It's much tastier and healthier to make your own popcorn from popcorn kernels on the stove :D
I am a popcorn popper in a concession stand. It's interesting to see how the kernels are produced. Trust me, you think it would be a dream job to pop the popcorn, but after about my sixth or seventh batch, the smell of it cooking makes my stomach starts rolling and yet I still will have one of the bags I made. LOL
Thank you for that extremely fascinating anecdote. So riveting and the twists. I really didn't see the end coming. Well I hope u get back on your feet and get a real job. Good luck kido
I remember when I was a little boy, my mother would buy kernel popcorn that was multi colored. The popcorn would still be white but it would have a colored center. If my memory serves me right, they were yellow, red, blue and green. I wonder if they still make it? I’ll look for it next time when I go to the market.
I used to work in a cinema, and they used to order a huge bag of popcorn that cost them $0.40 per huge bag, and yet they sold it for $4 per popcorn box, cinemas are making huge profit on those! and other food!
In the past, we would pick ears of popcorn from a local farm. You would allow the ears to dry for a while. Then you could put an ear in a paper bag and microwave - presto ez popcorn!
I am a popcorn popper in a concession stand. You would think its a dream job, but after several batches, the smell starts to make my stomach roll. It is cool to watch it pop, but it sure as hell isn't fun when you accidental make contact with the hot kettle or the hot oil splatters on your hands or arms
This segment should be revised to include “mushroom” popcorn, which is a variety that pops mostly round, which gives it a better surface area for seasoning, which is why you see it in those flavored popcorn tins and tubs. This variety shown is mostly for consumers (microwave and kettle) and movie theatres. Also, the source resolution! I don’t care if it says 1080p, it still looks terrible!
When my stepfather was with us, he was on dialysis and as a consequence of his treatment was he couldn’t eat popcorn due to the phosphates. When he passed I had popcorn for the first time in three years and my goodness it was like ascending to a new level of being.
Imagine if the hot air drying the kernels malfunctioned and got way too hot causing the corn to pop and you had a giant silo of popcorn! Just add gallons of butter and eat it!
Jeez... Am I the only one who gets anxious with this music? All the other how it's made music is all sort of... mechanical or wacky sounding. This is just... This makes me worried. It's too fast, it makes me think something bad is gonna happen lol
Yes, and those Native Americans originally got the advanced popcorn 🍿 technology from off world aliens. who instead of using an air popcorn popper like I do today, they used a “laser” popcorn popper, well, kind of...
Popcorn was originally made by Native American people, along with cornbread, corn was 1 of their major crops, native Americans harvested better then a lot of other cultures, and was one of the main jobs taught by them( cropping/planter/gardening, med making all from crops😁!.)
@@burninhell7555 Neither corn, or the popping of, was not introduced by the Spanish. Many crops were indigenous to the Americans and the rest of the world did not have them, until America's "discovery". Corn, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, chocolate, green beans, squash, vanilla... quite a few things. 😎
