I loved the emotion behind her voice. She explained that this is about the eating disorder she used to have and the toxic mindset associated with it. quite powerful
NIN has been an influence since I'm I A Girl, as the song Hard Feelings could of come from pretty Hate Machine imo. But I hear many great artists in Poppy's music. Everything from Kate Bush - Mr Bungle. Which makes her unique imo.
@Baza Sulli Believe it or not Patton has been involved in many projects just as weird or even weirder than Bungle. Fantomas, Deadcross , Adult Themes for the Voice, The Crank 2 Soundtrack and his work with Jon Zorn come immediately to mind. Just a very experimental musician. I just hope Poppy doesn't paint herself into a corner as I enjoy seeing her constantly evolving. Starting out as cute Country/Folk girl into now whats looking like becoming the Queen of Alt. Metal.
@@JohnG_YT thanks for replying! She is on tour now! You should def react to her Flux album it’s so amazing! And/or her live on her Never Find My Place Tour! I went to the Hartford show it was probably one of the best days of my life! She’s so sweet! Have a great day
Great reaction as always John G, Poppy is doing a live stream on April 24th to say goodbye to the I Disagree era, before moving forward. Wait until you hear Say Cheese, She performed part of it at the WWE last week = Heaviest thing she has done to date. Versus = insane screaming + the typical melodic poppy chorus to complement it.
yes! POPPY back on John G! tell me you're gonna do the album when it release. hope so. and can you plz get AuRoRa on here!? you pick. they are all Good. screw bananas, gimme the legs!! thx!!
Not sure honestly...it's a Grammy Awards performance and these big events tend to force artists into this kind of stuff. Song is absolutely on fire either way! :)
It's not she is pulling from underground jazz-punk groups like midori on this track nothing about this is cliche at all (you won't find this style in metal again but more experimental hxc)
